Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 194 Plan to revitalize the insect system”This thing seems to be quite unbelievable...”

After taking a closer look at the newly unlocked lord’s posture talent, Russell, who had long been accustomed to pretending to be a bad guy, still let out a sigh.

The evolution aura affects the beastmaster, as well as the probability of positive mutation. Although these two talent attributes are equally important, they are obviously slow-heating, and it is difficult to have any sense of existence for a while.

However, the source of evolution can be used to add points to the evolution halo. This change is of great significance and the benefits are immediate.

The so-called basic attributes are nothing more than attack, defense, energy resistance, energy control, mental strength and other attributes that affect the strength of the pet.

The innate distribution of these attributes basically determines the positioning of a pet beast.

For example, a beast like the Demon Dog, which has poor energy control but has rough skin and thick flesh, cannot become a long-range turret like Ayou, no matter how it is matched with subsequent skills.

If the distribution of basic attributes can be changed, coupled with energy screening, and targeted cultivation of attributes and skills, it can be said to be equivalent to customizing a pet!
Although the degree of this kind of customization is limited, the final effect must be considered based on the pet’s talent, skills, body composition and other factors.

But for improving the bloodlines of weak chickens at the bronze and silver levels, it is still quite helpful.

After calming down his excitement, Russell concentrated his energy and tried to activate the evolution aura to add points.

However, the content of the extra points column that came to his mind made him feel slightly disappointed.

In the point-adding function of the evolutionary halo, not only do each attribute need points separately, but also the cost of upgrading from level zero to level one requires a full one hundred points of evolutionary source.

However, the increase brought by such high consumption of the source of evolution is only a very low fixed value.

For example, if you choose to upgrade the strength growth of a mantis pet, the first level of enhanced halo effect will increase by about ten kilograms.

Moreover, in order to truly increase the upper limit of ten kilograms of strength, one has to be within the evolutionary halo from birth to maturity.

In addition, for each level of strengthening aura, the required source of evolution increases several times, which is in sharp contrast to the steady and slow growth of the amplification effect.

”It seems that the final form of the evolutionary halo will take the popular route.”

After analyzing the hierarchical composition of the strengthening halo, Russell said to himself.

Although it seems a bit stingy at first glance, when you think about it carefully, it seems to be a reasonable situation.

After all, learning skills is a matter for a pet. Using a hundred points to completely master a skill will not have much impact on others.

Strengthening the evolutionary halo is a major event related to the growth of a race’s pet beast.

If a few dozen clicks could produce an increase of dozens of percent, then the insect-type pet beast would be directly invincible.

Furthermore, it is true that a total of seven or eight attributes can be added to the enhanced aura, but cultivating pet beasts does not have to be a hexagonal warrior without thinking.

For those standard pet beasts aimed at workers or low-level soldiers, being able to use their core skills to a higher level is enough to greatly enhance their competitiveness.

It just so happens that during the pioneering operation, the manpower gap of middle and low-level beast masters will increase sharply.

Driven by sufficient profits, there are still many beast masters with mediocre strength and no hope of advancement who are willing to contract functional pet beasts.

As long as Russell can find a few insect-type pet beasts that are cost-effective and suitable for development, and work with Senluo City officials to promote them, the first batch of insect-type beast masters will be born.

In this way, he can obtain the source of evolution from both the pet beast and the beast master. While strengthening the contracted pet, he can also activate the strengthening aura early.

When the average strength of the first-generation promoted beasts increases, coupled with the advantages of fast breeding and low breeding threshold, insect-type pets will naturally gradually become popular.

By then, everything can enter a virtuous cycle.

With the support of a large amount of evolutionary sources, Ayou and the others can learn whatever rare skills they want.

Combined with the fact that the third-level lord pet beasts can enjoy the energy feedback of the group, the cultivation progress of Russell’s contract pet beasts can also advance by leaps and bounds.

Thinking of the days when he would own an entire city’s insect industry, sweep the gyms, and pass the league finals, Russell’s mouth couldn’t help but curl up crazily.

”Gathering tokens, I feel like my skills are getting higher and higher~”

After a moment of silly joy, he turned his attention to the so-called token.

This ability newly unlocked by the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent has a high level of belief in the gods, and the actual effect is also very useful.

Considering the iterative reproduction of the insect house beasts, under normal circumstances, Russell would definitely not directly sell the lord-level pet beasts that share the evolutionary halo for money.

But in this way, the coverage of the evolutionary halo will be difficult to extend beyond the insect house area.

The insect beast master is not as laid-back as the big silkworm, and can stay in the breeding farm all day long.

They were running around, and if they were outside the aura of evolution for a long time, it would be difficult for Russell’s lordship to be effective.

Being able to share the evolutionary halo with a token that contains his spiritual power is indeed a great addition.

However, the description of the token in the talent was a bit vague, so Russell simply tried to condense a ”token”.

The token condensed with the talent of beast control is essentially a solidified energy, so during the condensation process, Russell can do whatever he wants.

After thinking for a moment, he finally shaped the token into a small moth.

After all, his initial pet beast was Ayou, and using the image of the UFO Hawkmoth to condense a token was a kind of sentiment.

In addition, after one or two attempts, Russell also discovered that the mental power consumed to condense the tokens was not fixed.

As long as he is willing, he can even choose to consume a trace of mental power and fuse some energy crystal fragments and other substances to create a low-quality token.

Of course, the tokens created through this method contain very weak aura, and the shared evolutionary halo effect is also very poor.

”Why does it look so similar to the green leaf badge...”

Holding a few small moth-shaped tokens, Russell suddenly thought of his only gym badge.

The green leaf badge he keeps in his bedroom is also made of special materials and contains comforting plant energy and vitality.

Based on my previous understanding of the Beast Taming Gym, it is the gym’s practice to add some materials of the same properties when making badges.

This undoubtedly provides an excellent channel for Russell to issue tokens.

Even if he hasn’t established a gym yet, it can be said to be a warm-up, or a souvenir given to high-quality customers by the Insect House.

Anyway, there is a precedent for gym badges, and everyone is accustomed to this kind of gadget.

As long as the quality of the tokens is controlled to be poor in the early stages of distribution, and the evolution halo is shared within a small range covering a few meters, the clues will not be easily seen.

Thinking about it this way, the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent is really considerate. Knowing that he wants to open a gym in the future, he even prepared the gym badge... After sorting out his newly acquired abilities, Russell had a somewhat radical, but When you think about it, it’s quite a reasonable idea, that is:
...Starting from the secret realm of the Crystal Garden and pioneering operations, we will revitalize the entire insect industry!

First, we would promote insect-based pets to civilians with mediocre talents and little potential to become professional beast masters, and gradually open up the market with their high cost performance.

Then, he would participate in various events, climb up the competitive rankings, and personally promote himself as the high-end combat power of the insect system.

Throughout the process, he can also rely on the source of evolution obtained from the Lord’s posture to continuously strengthen his own strength and evolutionary aura.

It’s really fun to implement it step by step...

However, all these ideas must be based on him first cultivating a group of excellent pioneering pets.

If this excellent opportunity to open up the war is missed, based on the current reputation of low-level insect beasts, few people would be willing to use them as contract beasts.

”...Perhaps we can start with ancient pet beasts.”

After thinking for a while, Russell planned to combine some of the conjectures he had generated in the secret realm to try to find the ancient forms of some insect-type beasts.

First of all, if you want to promote it, you definitely can’t take the elite route. You have to start with pet beasts around the bronze and silver levels. This will be economical enough and everyone can afford it.

However, the existing image of low-level insect-type beasts is a bit too popular among the people. Even if you pay money, it will definitely be very difficult to get other people to contract with beasts like the UFO Hawkmoth.

Secondly, based on what he saw and heard in the secret realm, Russell always felt that the average strength of ancient insect beasts was much stronger than it is now, and he really wanted to find out the truth about the evolution of insect beasts.

However, apart from the crystallized ants and some grazed aphids and worms, all the ancient beasts in the secret realm were resurrected by the remaining power of the Death Moth.

That form between a spiritual body and an energy body cannot be considered truly alive. It is fine for basic research, but it is completely impossible to continue to reproduce.

Even if the eighth-level mausoleum beetle can reproduce, it is definitely not something ordinary people can afford.

Since direct breeding is unavailable, what Russell can do is try to awaken the ancient bloodline of modern pet beasts.

The most direct way is to restore their former living environment, and then gradually stabilize the positive changes through the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, and finally cultivate a pet species similar to the ancient form.

”There seem to be several pretty good ancient insect-type pet beasts in the database of the Senluo City Beast Control Research Institute...”

After choosing the initial direction, Russell immediately took out his mobile phone and checked the existing information.

When in doubt, search the Internet. This trick is timeless in any era.

In order to save costs and achieve initial results before the full-scale development war started, the ancient beast race he wanted to find must meet two characteristics.

The first is that this kind of pet beast must have a relatively clear research record. It cannot be too biased towards legends, or the information is too sparse and only has a racial name.

Only in this way can the cultivation work be completed in one step, directly simulating the environment to start cultivation, eliminating a large number of intermediate research links.

Moreover, this kind of pet animal should preferably be a mantis...

This is not that Russell is partial to Daolang, but is indeed based on the needs of subsequent development.

From the most practical point of view, Russell not only has to consider doing business to promote insect-type pets, but also takes into account the growth of his own contracted pets.

Ayou’s target is silkworms and moths, and Xiaoqi also has the backing of the cloakworm family. As long as they continue to expand their existing industries, their path to advancement as lords will remain smooth.

Now that the third-level lords can awaken the ability to enjoy the energy feedback of the group, the proportion of subsequent fourth-level and fifth-level lords will only be higher.

Russell was confident that he could quickly join the ranks of mid-to-high-level beast masters, probably relying on the extra growth speed brought by his status as a lord.

But Daolang is different. After all, mantis pet beasts usually do not have the habit of living in groups, and until now it has not seriously become a pet beast lord.

Although the gap caused by the ethnic group’s feedback is not obvious yet, as the lord class and the number of ethnic groups expand, this gap will only become larger and larger.

If we don’t find a way to expand, Daolang’s growth will be greatly delayed and he will become a drag on the team.

In line with the mentality of being responsible for others after making a contract, Russell did not want any of his chosen pet beasts to be left behind.

…………

It has to be said that sometimes even if you are cheating, you have to rely on the accumulated experience of large organizations.

After changing several databases and searching for a long time, he finally found an ancient mantis pet that seemed to be very cost-effective.

”Hidden Thorn Mantis...gold level, pure insect type.”

After reading the pet information of Hidden Spiny Mantis, Russell felt quite satisfied.

This pet beast that lived about 3000 years ago is a relative of the mantis mantis in blood, but it is much larger than the mantis, almost equivalent to a strong adult.

Their most core feature is their excellent mimicry and ambush capabilities.

The Hidden Thorn Mantis’s innate skill is called ”Standing Mimicry”. While remaining still, their mimicry effect can be continuously enhanced until they completely blend into the environment.

The difference between static mimicry and regular stealth skills is that it consumes almost no energy, and the duration can be calculated from hours.

Relying on such a long-lasting semi-invisible state, the Hidden Thorn Mantis can calmly use a series of skills that must be invisibility-based, such as ambush, sneak attack, and assassination.

Because of this, they can maintain a very high hunting success rate despite their large size.

According to research by the Beast Control Alliance, the mimicry ability of the Hidden Spiny Mantis mainly comes from the special substances on its insect armor.

If we trace the origin further, the source of this substance is a soft-bodied pet that the cryptospiny mantis loves to prey on - the color-changing slug.

The most rare thing is that although the hidden spiny mantis has disappeared for thousands of years, the color-changing slug has not become extinct.

However, with changes in climate and environment, this pet animal with high requirements for water quality has changed from being widely distributed to living only in a small number of inaccessible wetlands.

In other words, if you try to feed the mantises with color-changing slugs, combined with the new cultivation direction preset ability of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, it is possible to awaken their ancient bloodline.

This transforms ordinary mimicry skills into the direction of static mimicry.

As for the reasons for the extinction of the Hidden Spiny Mantis, it has not yet been fully studied. I am afraid that Russell still needs to explore it himself and avoid this key flaw.

At the same time, this arrangement has an additional benefit, that is, Daolang can be nurtured together.

Although its bright silver insect armor is handsome, it is too conspicuous in many combat situations.

If it can strengthen its ability to mimic stealth, its overall strength can be improved to a higher level.

After making up his mind, Russell went ahead and immediately sent a message to the Senluo City Beast Control Research Institute, requesting to borrow all the information about the Hidden Spiny Mantis. (End of chapter)
