Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 188: Get the last secret key!Facing the overwhelming insect needles, Ayou and Daolang did not dare to resist even if they had the same resistance properties.

Fortunately, they are not huge in size. The energy crystals on the rock wall can provide energy support to the secret guard ants, and can also be used as cover by Ayou and Dao Lang.

The energy crystal structure compressed from pure ability is stable enough to withstand many low-level skills.

With the cover provided by these raised crystal blocks, coupled with their own defensive skills, Ayou and Daolang, although they looked a little embarrassed, were approaching the target without any danger.

Seeing that the test attack was ineffective, the secret guard ants stopped holding back and landed on the rock wall one after another, chewing up various energy crystals.

Compared with crystal soldier ants, these secret guard ants have better energy adaptability and have exceptionally rich crystal reserves.

After a round of gnawing, they used energy spurt again, and the spurts turned into more threatening low-level skills such as fireballs, lightning, ice picks, and wind blades.

These skills are attached with various abnormal effects. Even if they cannot break the defense, they can still hinder the target’s actions.

Especially since the secret guard ants spray out so many skills, as long as one or two are hit and their ability to move is affected, they will inevitably suffer more damage in the future.

Fortunately, due to the suppression of the skills of the eighth-level pet beasts, their spellcasting ability was reduced by at least %, and their actual combat effectiveness was only that of the late fourth-level beasts.

Perhaps because he was frightened, Ayou had already activated his shadow form before Russell could command him.

After growing up during this period, it can now summon ten phantoms by using the Nightmare Butterfly Shadow skill with all its strength, and it does disperse a lot of firepower as it flees in all directions.

Daolang, on the other hand, continued to wander on the rock wall, using his blade arm to continuously chop at the low-level skills aimed at him.

Although each slashing skill will leave some damage on its blade arm, and it will occasionally be hit by a missed skill, it is not completely without rewards.

When evolving into the Silver-Winged Sword Mantis, the only skill that Daolang directly unlocked was the mithril armor, and the other two high-level skills were still being understood.

Among them, there is the silver blade that can tear through energy-based skills.

The main way to improve the proficiency of this skill is to directly chop the energy with the blade arm.

It’s just easier said than done. During this period of time, Silver Blade’s training progress was actually very slow.

Directly using the blade arm to chop the energy in a calm state will have little effect on improving skills. However, energy-type skills are harmful, and it is easy to get injured if you chop randomly.

If you want to train the Silver Blade safely, chopping a lot of low-level skills is the most effective way.

However, other pet beasts rarely have the powerful skill burst ability of Crystal Ant. It is difficult to give Daolang enough training intensity with the low-level pet beasts in the Bloodstone Gym.

Now that these secret guard ants serve as perfect sparring partners, its silver blade skill proficiency has finally begun to increase significantly after the vulnerable mark.

After hiding for a moment, Ayou cast countless butterfly shadows and finally managed to confuse the sight of the secret guard ants.

At this moment, its body was hiding behind a ghost crystal that was similar in color to its own body, and it quietly charged up the Nether Explosion.

Hoo hoo...!
”When I find an opportunity, drive them into a pile and I’ll explode them together!”

At the same time, Ayou also sent a request for help to Daolang through the beast control space.

Sa-!
”Look at me!”

Hearing this, Daolang flew out from the hiding crystal without saying a word, waving his alloy claws towards the few secret guard ants who were eating the crystal again.

The secret guard ant itself is a pure long-range attack beast that is more specialized than ordinary crystal ants, and has almost no melee capabilities.

Coupled with the suppression of the tombstones of the Tomb Guards, they were naturally unwilling to get closer to a mid-level fourth-level pure melee beast.

Therefore, Daolang successfully completed Ayou’s request to it without much effort.

And Ayou also seized the opportunity and brazenly released the strongest Nether Explosion under the shadow form.

Om————!
With a low roar, the Netherworld Explosion exploded, and those secret guard ants who had not noticed Ayou’s position at all and thought it was still running away in a hurry were caught off guard.

Directly hit by the Nether Explosion, even though they had the same level of advantage, the secret guard ants were still blown up and staggered.

The most fortunate thing is that the Nether blast shattered many nearby rocks and small crystals, and the splashing rocks happened to hit the secret guard ant hiding the amber.

The membrane wings of insect beasts are light and foldable, and are the basis for many flying insects’ flexible turns and erratic body shapes. However, in contrast, the membrane wings are the most fragile of all wings.

Several tube-like veins used to infuse body fluids to help the membrane wings expand, a transparent and thin membrane with neither bone support nor feathers or fur covering.

The defense power of wings composed of this structure can be said to be basically zero.

Many beetles fold their membrane wings inside their carapace when not flying to protect these extremely fragile wings.

Unfortunately, ant-like beasts do not have a body structure like a carapace on their back.

Even though the secret guard ant is a fifth-level beast, its pair of shiny membrane wings were still punched with several small gaps when it was hit by sharp gravel.

Flying is a delicate technical activity. Not only must the muscle strength be strong, but the balance of airflow is particularly important.

With half of its wings damaged, the body of the secret guard ant swayed, and its flight speed immediately dropped a lot.

Seeing that his men were suffering a loss, the leader of the secret guard ants immediately wanted to come back for help, but Dumb remembered Russell’s order to block the secret guard ant lord, and smashed it back with a few mausoleum guard tombstones.

Without the interference of the leader’s pet beast, and with the help of the mausoleum guard’s tombstone, and several secret guard ants were slightly injured in the explosion, Ayou immediately launched a strong pursuit.

During the chase, the Nether Explosion was difficult to aim, so Russell commanded it to change its tactics and chose to attack the secret guard ant carrying amber with a salvo of shadow-stitching arrows.

Once the flying beast is under control, it will be seriously injured just by falling from the air. Ayou only needs to hit the secret guard ant with a shadow-stitching arrow, and then taking the key to the secret realm is naturally like searching for something.

However, while it retreats, it and several companions continue to fire various low-level skills. The shadow arrows, which are also in the form of energy, are always shattered halfway, making it difficult to hit the target directly.

Moreover, the intelligence of the platinum-level pet beasts is no longer inferior to that of ordinary humans. They have suffered a big loss just now. The secret guard ants have become more cautious, and it will be difficult for Daolang to find opportunities to drive them away or get close to them for a while.

woohoo...

”I’m not afraid of fighting a war of attrition!”

Facing this kind of tug-of-war with no results, Ayou seemed confident.

As the Nether Realm gradually takes effect, sooner or later those secret guard ants will stop due to lack of vitality.

After all, there is a big difference between vitality and energy. After vitality is overdrawn, not to mention using skills, even basic mobility will be affected.

However, the secret guard ants, which have a social structure and some simple knowledge inheritance, are not as easy to fool as ordinary wild beasts. They quickly realized that something was wrong with their state. After a brief judgment, they found that the problem was the rapid loss of vitality. The secret guard ants behaved in an orderly manner and immediately launched a response.

Thanks to the energy brought by the huge tree roots, their crystal reserves contain many emerald-green plant-based crystals.

Although plant-based crystals and energy surge skills don’t go well together, as the attribute with the most vitality, it has a remarkable effect in restraining the poison of the netherworld.

After biting into pieces a few plant-based crystals, the secret guard ants did not attack, but allowed the green plant-based energy to naturally linger around their bodies.

The working principle of the Nether Poison is to consume the target’s life. This simple and unpretentious operation really resolves the poison in them.

”Daolang, stay near the plant crystals and don’t let them get close!”

”Ayou, give up on taking down the target in one fell swoop for the time being, and just use Nether Explosion to bomb with all your strength!”

Seeing this scene, Russell made a prompt decision and issued new orders to the two contracted beasts.

After all, the hard power of his two pet beasts is still at the mid-to-early stage of the fourth level. Even if the skill configuration is much better than that of the secret guard ants, and with the help of Dumb, it is impossible to defeat all the secret guard ants head-on.

A reasonable combat strategy is to use the Nether Poison and the Shadow Sewing Arrow to control the secret guard ant with the amber and search for the secret amber.

Then, we must not let these secret guard ants gnaw away at the vitality-rich plant crystals.

Fortunately, the energy crystals of various attributes also have a restrained and symbiotic relationship with each other. Random placement can easily cause the energies to cancel each other out.

Energy crystals of the same attribute are usually concentrated in a certain area on the rock wall.

After receiving the order, Daolang took three steps and two steps at a time, jumping and gliding continuously to reach the area with dense plant crystals.

Having seen the scene of its low-level sword-cleaving skills, the few secret guard ants did not dare to get closer. They could only turn to gnawing on the crystals of other attributes in an attempt to force Daolang away with a fire net.

But at this time, Ayou’s remote support also arrived.

Following several familiar buzzing sounds, the gray ghost energy exploded, forcing back the secret guard ants’ attack on Daolang.

This time it did not hide its figure, and the Nether Blast it released was detected by the secret guard ants in advance, so it failed to hit the target directly.

However, the bombing range of Nether Explosion is several meters wide, and the aftermath and air waves of the explosion will also affect the flight trajectory of the secret guard ants. To truly avoid this skill perfectly, you must withdraw at least ten meters away.

In addition, Ayou also had multiple butterfly shadows to assist in casting spells, and the secret guard ants’ plan to split up and approach the plant-type crystals also failed.

In desperation, they could only resist the Nether poison that was regenerated in the air, and launched an all-out attack on Ayou.

It’s a pity that Ayou’s floating ability is quite restrained against these low-level skills that have simple forms and can easily cause obvious air flow.

With the help of the ultra-high dodge brought by the butterfly shadow and floating ability, it was able to fight against four or five lightly injured secret guard ants at once. It seemed to be able to do it with ease as long as it casually threw skills without forcing hits.

However, maintaining the shadow form and constantly throwing skills, Ayou’s energy has been exhausted.

With the remaining energy, it is confident that it can poison the injured amber bearer, but only if the opponent cannot replenish a large amount of vitality.

In other words, before the secret guard ant becomes obviously tired, Daolang must guard the green rock wall behind him with all his strength to ensure that the secret guard ants cannot repeatedly eat plant crystals to offset the toxins.

The secret guard ants probably also saw that the key to breaking the situation was the big mantis guarding the plant crystal, so they almost no longer attacked Ayou, but poured all their firepower on Daolang as much as possible.

Previously, Daolang was able to share the damage with Ayou’s butterfly shadow, but now that he was under the concentrated fire of the entire team of secret guard ants, he suddenly felt the pressure doubled.

Especially after those secret guard ants fought for a while, they discovered Daolang’s weakness and began to eat mainly fire-type energy crystals.

Flame has been one of the nemesis of metal since ancient times. After receiving dozens of small fireballs, several blackened gaps appeared on its blade arm.

”Russell, let me support you!”

At this time, Jiang Xue, who had basically stayed in the rear defense along the way, suddenly patted Russell on the shoulder, indicating to him the position of Nurse Spider.

It turned out that during the fierce battle just now, Jiang Xue had been paying attention to the situation, thinking that she could provide Russell with some support within his ability.

As an outstanding new beast master in the Beast Control Alliance, Jiang Xue can naturally see the core of the current battle.

Therefore, she quietly let the nurse spider venture to crawl near the plant crystal area, and wrapped the bandage spider silk around Daolang’s damaged blade arm.

After being treated and reinforced by the spider silk bandage, Daolang suddenly became energetic, and the strength of swinging his sword arm became fierce again.

However, the secret guard ants naturally would not let an auxiliary with healing ability safely add blood to Daolang.

The next moment, all the fireballs that originally hit Daolang rushed towards the nurse spider not far away.

Although the nurse spider has good climbing ability, it moves slowly and is locked by several secret guard ants. It can only hold up a spider silk shield for defense.

But spider silk is usually very flammable. Faced with the high-frequency bombardment of several fireballs per second, the spider silk shield was burned to ashes in just a few seconds.

As a crispy auxiliary pet, the nurse spider itself was restrained by the fire element. Almost at the same time that the shield shattered, it turned into white light and flew back to Jiang Xue’s beast control space.

The pet beast was severely injured, and Jiang Xue also let out a muffled groan, and managed to stabilize herself with Chen Yuan’s help.

Fortunately, after her sacrifice of help, Daolang’s condition improved a lot, and he successfully delayed the effective time of the Nether Poison.

Hoo hoo...!
”Take it for me!”

When the gray matter in the air reached a certain concentration, Ayou flapped his wings and rushed directly towards the secret guard ant colony. He shot a shadow arrow and accurately hit the target among several sickly secret guard ants.

He Qiuer, who had also been paying attention to the battle, immediately waved his hand and directed the sword-footed centipede to quickly crawl down Ah-Dai’s body and tightly wrapped around the secret guard ant that landed on the ground.

”Don’t hurt them.”

Seeing that the blade-footed centipede was about to wave its blade legs and start strangulation, Russell quickly said to He Qiuer.

As long as the amber is obtained, this trial battle will be over. There is really no need to kill the secret guard ants.

After all, these secret guard ants will be the property of the alliance and themselves from now on!

”Please...”

Hearing this, He Qiuer stopped the blade-footed centipede and continued to entangle the secret guard ant to prevent it from getting out of its trap.

Then, Russell asked Xiao Qi to weave a long rope with mucus, slide it all the way down Ah-Dai’s back, and successfully find the last secret amber from the gap in the breastplate of the secret guard ant. (End of chapter)
