Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 185: Preliminary reveal of the truth about the secret realmcall……

”Those big ants eat energy... I’ll let you be cool this time.”

Several beast masters felt as if they were facing a formidable enemy, but Ayou didn’t feel nervous at all, and was still discussing with Daolang who was more handsome in battle.

Fortunately, it understood that it was severely restrained by the crystal ants, so it didn’t dwell on this issue.

Sa-!
”Okay, I’ll help you chop them down!”

It was a rare opportunity to act as the absolute main force. Daolang took the lead, waving his metalized blade arm and rushed towards those ordinary crystal soldier ants.

In the air above it, Ayou scattered several butterfly shadows, using shadow-stitching arrows and scale powder to assist.

The shooting speed of the Shadow Slit Arrow is very fast, and the energy fluctuation is very weak, making it harder to detect than the Netherworld Explosion.

In addition, the principle of this skill mainly relies on shadow control rather than energy intensity. Even if it is sucked away by the crystal ants, it is not enough to support them to launch an energy spurt, at least it will not have side effects.

The scale powder is Ayou’s racial talent skill, and it is also an integral part of the body. It can be activated with almost no need to use energy.

Since the Nightmare Butterfly Shadow skill creates a physical phantom, the butterfly shadow released by Ayou will also leave scale powder when it is destroyed.

Although the Dark Scale Powder does not have the control ability to forcefully bind the Shadow Sewing Arrow, the blinding effect can also delay the sight of the crystal soldier ants aiming at Daolang.

Relying on two control skills, Ayou easily entangled the three slightly injured ordinary crystal ant soldier ants.

Their strength is only at the late stage of the fourth level. Even if they gnaw the crystals and explode with all their strength, they cannot reach the power of the sixth level leaders.

In addition, Ayou was flying in the sky, and the ground stab skill, which was more powerful than insect needles, had no effect at all. When Ayou was not greedy and flew around, a few crystal soldier ants had no way to deal with it.

Without the obstruction along the way, Daolang used his wings and feet together to quickly approach the other three crystal soldier ants near the gap in the tree roots behind.

Kaka…

When Daolang rushed over, these three crystal soldier ants had already conducted a round of trial attacks using the insect needle skill, and they knew that this low-level energy attack had basically no effect on the big silver mantis in front of them.

With his flexible movement, even if a crystal soldier ant chewed up the earth-yellow crystal and summoned the ground thorn, Daolang’s pace did not slow down by half.

Therefore, after the enemy approached, these crystal soldier ants simply gave up the long-range attack method, directly chose to activate the stone armor technique, and then used the crushing skill to strengthen their mouthparts, and started a close combat with Daolang.

However, these wild beasts have not undergone any systematic fighting training at all, and they are not pure melee beasts. Even if they have a numerical advantage, they cannot gain any advantage in front of Daolang.

Relying on the triple bonus of basic physical skills, mantis fist, and three-dimensional vision, Daolang can easily dodge perfectly when faced with a skill like bite that must be used through the mouth and has a very short attack distance.

However, the damage caused by its alloy claw skill on the stone armor is very weak.

Although each blow of the sword arm can cut cracks on the stone armor, with sufficient earth energy replenishment, those cracks that are not deep will be repaired immediately.

Perhaps sensing that the opponent’s attack was not strong enough to threaten them, the crystal ants simply blocked the gap with their bodies, preventing Daolang from taking another half step forward.

Sa-!
”What a hard ant shell!”

After slashing at the stone armor for a while, Daolang even felt that his blade arm was slightly numb.

Supported by the earth energy crystals stored in their abdomens, these crystallized soldier ants have extremely abundant energy, and it will definitely not work to consume them through continuous attacks.

Although the unparalleled fighting spirit skill can enhance the attack effect, the superposition speed is linked to the intensity of the battle.

In this kind of battle where one’s own side is basically unharmed and the opponent is fully defensive, the superposition of unparalleled fighting spirit is very slow. It may be difficult to get the secret amber before the rancid potion expires.

”Dao Lang, don’t chop randomly, just focus on the same position and attack!”

Seeing that Daolang was a little anxious, Russell quickly provided it with some guidance.

Hearing this, Daolang tilted his head thoughtfully, then flapped his wings and flew up to a higher tree root, hung upside down on the tree root with his hind feet, and launched a new attack on the back of one of the crystal soldier ants. A round of slamming.

Because it is accustomed to making arrangements and on-the-spot reactions to the details of battles, Russell can immediately integrate them into its own battle rhythm as long as it points out some key points.

Speaking of which, this can be considered one of the benefits of exercising Daolang’s semi-autonomous combat mode.

In wild battles such as exploring secret realms, the beast master cannot devote all his attention to commanding a certain pet beast.

Focusing too much on local battles will not only have a great impact on overall understanding and development, but also easily put yourself in danger.

For now, Russell has to pay attention to Daolang’s progress, and at the same time, he has to pay attention to the battle situation between the Blade-footed Centipede and the leader of the soldier ants. He also has to always be wary of the ground thorns that may come out of the ground.

If every combat move of Daolang requires his personal command, then Russell will definitely ignore the other and miss out on some important information.

After finding the right method, Daolang’s offense quickly made a breakthrough.

Maintaining high-frequency attacks on a certain point on the stone armor will cause violent fluctuations in the energy flow of the stone armor technique.

Moreover, the continuous chopping will also disperse to a certain extent the earth energy that comes to repair the stone armor.

Ka-!
With a crisp sound, when Daolang’s alloy claw penetrated the stone armor and struck directly on the crystal soldier ant’s back, its defensive position was obviously in chaos.

Continuing to bathe in the rich insect energy of the Black Dew Secret Realm, and fighting with three pet beasts that are slightly higher than himself, Daolang’s various skill data are also increasing.

After successfully breaking through the stone armor with the tactic of concentrating attacks on the same part, Daolang’s mood was high, and a long-lost reminder also entered Russell’s mind at this moment:
”Your pet gained insights during the battle. Do you want to spend thirty points of evolutionary sources to break through the bottleneck of comprehending the fragile mark skill?”

After listening to this kind of prompt sound during the battle several times, Russell is now completely able to deal with it calmly.

The choices given by the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent this time are quite satisfactory, and there is no Xiyou skills or special abilities, but the benefits are also considerable.

After all, high-level skills often have compound proficiency requirements. The proficiency of the vulnerable mark skill is composed of weak electric mark and precision attack. Originally, it was still close to a hundred full proficiency points.

At this moment, it only takes thirty points to unlock, which is equivalent to a % discount.

Russell now happens to have about forty points of evolutionary sources, and he had previously planned to leave it to Xiao Qi to master the quick recovery skills to resist various dangers that may be encountered in the secret realm.

Later, because I met Dumb and had it escort me, it directly solved most of the risks encountered during the journey, so I was not in a hurry to point out the quick recovery.

And now the speed at which Daolang breaks through the defense line of the three crystal soldier ants is directly linked to whether he can successfully obtain a secret realm key.

After receiving the talent prompt, Russell naturally immediately invested the source of evolution at hand into it.

As bits of milky white light poured into Daolang’s body, the proficiency of the vulnerable mark in his skill development column increased rapidly, reaching the full level in an instant.

Then, a sharp and dangerous aura emerged from its body and was firmly locked on the three crystal soldier ants around it.That’s exactly what happens after Vulnerable Mark is activated!
As a high-level attack skill that is relatively rare in the insect skill tree, the effect of Vulnerable Mark is to leave energy in the area just attacked, increasing the damage of subsequent attacks, and continuously strengthening this effect through continuous attacks.

When the accumulated vulnerable energy reaches a certain level, the skill user can also detonate the penetrating insect energy to deal a high burst of damage at once.

It can be said that this skill can be regarded as a qualitative change in damage ability for pet beasts that have fast attack speed but whose initial attack is not strong enough.

Knowing that the battle time was tight, after locking the three crystal soldier ants with vulnerable marks, Daolang continued to wander above the tree roots, even at the cost of resisting a few skills, seizing every opportunity to attack their backs.

This position is not like an insect’s foot that can be broken and simply given up. You can wait for the next molt to regenerate. It is also unlike the abdomen where you can lie on the ground to avoid damage.

As long as the stone armor technique covering their back armor can be completely defeated, with Daolang’s unparalleled fighting spirit accumulated for a period of time, and the newly learned fragile mark skill, it is not difficult to deal with the crystal soldier ants.

When the battle lasted for about 5 minutes, the backs of these three crystal soldier ants were already covered with yellow-green fragile energy.

Their attack mode is relatively simple, and Daolang has no choice but to maintain the crumbling stone armor with all his strength.

”Dao Lang, it’s almost done.”

Through the feedback from the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, Russell felt that these crystal soldier ants should have reached their limit, so he decisively gave Dao Lang an attack order.

Sa-!
”Dao Heng, let’s break out together!”

After receiving the order, Daolang flew down from the tree root, raised his knife arm high, and slashed hard on the back of each crystal soldier ant again.

puff……

Puff...!
With the sound of energy bursting, yellow-green insect energy spurted out from the back armor of the crystal soldier ants, instantly shattering the stone armor technique.

Immediately afterwards, Daolang walked past them at extremely fast speeds and used his alloy claws to remove two joints from the insect legs of the three crystal soldier ants.

Strictly speaking, this kind of injury is only considered a minor injury to the crystal ants, who have tenacious vitality and have the ”Active Crystal” skill to continuously replenish energy, and can recover in a few minutes.

But now the two sides are fighting with a time difference of just a few minutes. As long as Daolang takes this opportunity to get the secret amber, it doesn’t matter how the crystallized soldier ants recover.

Sa——

”Breakout successful!”

Seeing that the three crystal soldier ants were knocked down by him, and their joints were damaged and their mobility was greatly reduced, Daolang seemed very excited and crawled towards the gap in the tree roots without stopping.

The next moment, countless wood chips were flying, and like a saw machine, it began to quickly cut the tree roots blocking the outer layer of the amber in the secret realm.

Although these tree roots are very huge and as thick as a wall, they are only wooden structures and will not resist.

Before the crystal soldier ants repaired their injuries, Dao Lang took the lead in finding the transparent light yellow inside the root system.

Sa——

”Found it! As expected of me!”

I don’t know if he was influenced by Ayou, but on the way back to Russell, Daolang held the secret amber high and stepped on the crystallized soldier ants with a very arrogant attitude.

However, its actions really made the crystal ants stop their attacks.

After all, the leader of the crystal soldier ants said from the beginning that this was just a trial, and there was no need to fight to the death.

After Daolang successfully took away the secret amber, it meant that the trial was over, and the leader of the crystallized ants naturally no longer had the need to continue fighting.

”We can stop.”

Seeing this, Russell quickly said to He Qiuer, who was still watching.

Hearing this, she made the sword-footed centipede stop its strangulation and slowly crawled back to her.

After this battle, the body of the knife-footed centipede was severely damaged. If it is not repaired properly, it may have to change its parasitic target.

However, being able to get the key to the secret realm stored in this area in one fell swoop without wasting too much time makes the price completely worth it.

Kaka…

”There is another test, at the location of the secret guard ant nest and the worm grazing land...”

After confirming again that Russell really held four amber fragments, the soldier ant leader became quite polite and took the initiative to point out the areas that needed to be explored in the future for everyone in the team.

Hearing the names of these areas, he could basically conclude that the Black Dew Secret Realm was actually a large crystallized ant nest.

After confirming this, Russell couldn’t help but feel excited.

Not only because the value of the secret realm has soared, I can make a lot of money, but also because this trip gives me the opportunity to explore the throne part of the crystallized ant nest.

After all, the Crystal Ant is an extinct pet beast in the official records of the Alliance. Relying on scattered fossils and remains, the Beast Control Alliance has no detailed records of the Crystal Ant Queen.

As an entomologist in his previous life, now a pure insect beast master, he can take the lead in mastering the detailed information of an ancient insect race. This is naturally something worth cheering for.

As for the locations of those two areas, He Qiuer had actually found them before, but they had not explored them yet because the crystal ant colony could not parasitize and infiltrate.

Among them, the worm grazing field sounds similar to the aphid grazing field here, so it must not be much more difficult to explore.

What makes Russell feel more troublesome is mainly the secret guard ant nest.

The so-called secret guard ants, like soldier ants and worker ants, are actually a branch of the crystal ant family.

However, this developmental branch with the smallest number is only responsible for the security of the queen, and its average strength has reached platinum level.

The mature platinum-level beasts are guaranteed to start at the sixth level. If they still have a small boss like the leader of the soldier ants, they may be high-level purple-gold level beasts.

Even if Russell and the others use various methods to increase combat power, they will definitely be killed in one move.

Fortunately, the location of the secret guard ant nest is right next to the door that needs to be inlaid with amber to open, and it is also a quite spacious location.

In this way, as long as Ah-Dai can be persuaded to help and block the frontal attack of the secret guard ants, everyone still has a chance to fish in troubled waters and steal the secret amber.

After getting the direction of the follow-up exploration, Russell also asked the leader of the soldier ants about the secret place...or the cemetery outside the ant nest.

Unfortunately, the other party stated quite seriously that all this information was sealed in the door that needed amber to open, and only those who cleared the gate could master the entire history of the lair. (End of chapter)
