Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 153 Cooperative NegotiationsChapter 153 Cooperative Negotiations
Hearing this, Ye Qingyu stopped and looked at Russell with somewhat surprised and curious eyes.

However, Ye Qingyu’s first reaction was how to tactfully reject Russell so as not to damage his self-confidence.

Even though Russell did show better overall qualities than the average novice beast master, Ye Qingyu didn’t think he had the capital to cooperate with him now.

The application of blade specialization in gym battles is actually just the tip of the iceberg, and only shows a small part of the research results that can be maturely used at this stage.

The ultimate goal of blade specialization is definitely not limited to silver and gold level pets.

If the current research direction continues, the ultimate goal of this breeding technology will undoubtedly be to make it work on high-level plant-based pets.

For example, Ye Qingyu’s signature contract beast, the Ancient Tree of Life, has always been one of her experimental cultivation targets.

As a well-known auxiliary pet beast in the Purple and Gold level, an ancient tree of life that grows normally is equivalent to a mobile logistics warehouse.

Because the body is filled with surging life energy, the leaves of the ancient tree of life can be used as medicine and food. Even if they are not involved in battle, they can provide sufficient material support for teammates.

If the benefits of leaf specialization can be obtained, the palm-sized leaves of the Ancient Tree of Life can be enlarged again, and the growth speed can also be increased, its strategic significance in a team will be enhanced again.

The leaves are wide enough to be used directly as a bandage. Just pick a few pieces and chop them up to make a large pot of vegetable soup. It can be called a mobile high-end material warehouse.

Of course, the current research progress of the Green Leaf Gym is still far from being able to specialize the purple-gold-level pet beasts, but Ye Qingyu is only in his thirties now, so there are still many opportunities.

She doesn’t know how many businessmen and researchers she has to turn down every year who come to her door and offer huge sums of money in exchange for cultivating technology.

Sensing Ye Qingyu’s somewhat resistant attitude, Russell thought for a moment before slowly speaking:

”I can provide Greenleaf Gym with high-quality earthworm pets, as well as pollination, biological control and other services. If you have other cooperation needs, as long as they are related to insect-type pets, we can also discuss them.”

Russell is very coveted for the leaf specialization technology of the Green Leaf Gym.

The cooperation he was referring to was naturally like others, he also wanted to learn some blade specialization techniques.

After all, the cultivation of insect-type pets and the use of plant-type materials are basically a pair of inseparable keywords.

Even if the leaf size and growth rate of ordinary mulberry trees are just a little higher, the cumulative cost can save huge breeding costs.

Of course, Russell also knew that the specialized cultivation of leaves was the foundation for people to open gyms, and if they wanted to cooperate, they would definitely have to be sincere.

The reason why he dared to speak was because of the absolute quality advantage of the insect-type beasts produced by the Insect House.

The bond between plants and insects does not mean that insects rely solely on plants.

Loose soil, fertilizing, removing insects and pollinating, most of these processes that are essential for plant growth involve the participation of insect-type pets.

Although the technology and automation technology in the world of beast control has been very developed, the traditional pet industry also has its own irreplaceable advantages.

Compared with using a large amount of synthetic and mechanical labor, the original planting method is naturally more stable and more conducive to precise data detection and comparison.

Moreover, the progress of mechanical pets relies heavily on artificial transformation. The price of mechanical pets specially used for plant cultivation is not high, and most of them only have some basic functions.

On the contrary, some pet beasts that have been associated with specific plants since ancient times have developed various special abilities in the process of evolution, which are of great benefit to the growth of plants.

”Well... there are many companies that can provide these services. There are also many beneficial insect beasts domesticated in the Green Leaf Gym. There is no need for new partners in the near future.”

After hearing Russell’s self-recommendation, Ye Qingyu gently shook his head to express his polite refusal.

As the top second-generation emperor in Senluo City, Ye Qingyu actually inherited this gym from his parents.

Before she passed the legendary assessment and became eligible to inherit, the Greenleaf Gym had been in operation for 30 to years.

After such a long period of accumulation, the basic cultivated pets commonly used in the gym are already fully equipped, and there are stable partners.

Ordinary mulch earthworms and rosin worms can loosen the soil of the forest tree monsters and cure minor problems such as leaf disease, but they are basically useless for other purposes, let alone help the research of the Green Leaf Gym.

After saying that, Ye Qingyu turned around and walked towards the work area in the gym that was not open to the public. Russell suddenly became a little anxious.

Gym leaders are not just passers-by everywhere on the roadside. It’s one thing to see her on TV and in the audience, but it’s another thing to want to meet her alone.

If you don’t seize the opportunity today and meet Ye Qingyu through appointment or other channels next time, you don’t know how long you will have to wait.

”I can provide insect-type pets that are much higher than market standards. If you have special cultivation needs, you can also customize them. I can usually do it.”

In order to make Ye Qingyu realize his own value, Russell stopped being tactful and spoke directly.

He said this so loudly that Ye Qingyu paused before leaving and turned to look at Russell again.

”Far beyond industry standards...can it also be customized? It’s kind of interesting.”

Repeating Russell’s extremely confident tone just now, Ye Qingyu was obviously interested, but he didn’t quite believe it.

”Yes, you can inspect the goods first.”

Looking at Ye Qingyu’s slightly questioning eyes, Russell continued to answer affirmatively.

What he just said was not nonsense in a hurry, but a confident promise.

With Russell’s current cultivation capabilities, it is indeed impossible to get involved in those high-tech industries in a short period of time.

However, as long as he is willing to put more effort into cultivating mid- to low-level insect-type beasts, the effect will be immediate.

Considering that the value of leaf specialization is indeed very high, and the complete research data almost condenses the core results of Greenleaf Gym for decades, Russell also specifically added:
”If the cooperation is established, I don’t need the leaf cultivation data for pet beasts, only the plant cultivation part, okay?”

Russell was indeed completely uninterested in methods of cultivating plant-based pets.

The talent of ”Cocoon of Evolution” destined him to only take the insect route. There was no need to change his mind just because of some excellent breeding methods.

Even if some pet beasts with specialized blades are useful, they will have to spend money to buy finished products.

From the moment he fell in love with leaf specialization technology, he wanted only Ye Qingyu’s technology to cultivate plants.

Although this thing can’t be used by himself, it is definitely a good thing for Liang Kun.

If he can fix the specialized characteristics of the leaves when cultivating seeds, the quality of whatever plant he cultivates will be greatly improved.

And this part of technology is much less important to the Greenleaf Gym than cultivating plant-type pets.If there are sufficient benefits in exchange, Ye Qingyu still has a chance to agree to cooperate.

Sure enough, when Russell finished speaking about his needs, Ye Qingyu’s eyes no longer showed rejection and suspicion, but instead showed a look of thinking.

”Let’s do this...we will discuss it in detail when you bring the sample pet beast.”

After thinking about it for a while, she probably felt that she could inspect the goods anyway and there would be no loss. She finally did not refuse again, but gave Russell a chance.

”I have something else to do today, so I’ll add a phone number and contact you when I have time.”

After saying that, Ye Qingyu took out his mobile phone, scanned Russell’s communication QR code, and then quickly disappeared at the end of the corridor.

As a beast master whose main occupation is a gardener, she still has several acres of land to dig today.

If we delay any longer, I might not even be able to have dinner!

…………

After Ye Qingyu left, Russell hurried back to the Royal Insect House with the green leaf badge he finally got.

As soon as he got home, he quickly called Lu Yinning and Liang Kun, and the three of them searched the Internet non-stop for information on Green Leaf Gym and plant cultivation.

If there is an opportunity to cooperate with the gym, the sample pet beasts will naturally be produced as quickly as possible.

Russell’s previous boast about Haikou, saying that Yuchongwu could provide pet beasts with quality far exceeding market standards, although this was not a lie, it was still empty talk now.

Not to mention the difficulty of breeding, he hasn’t even decided on the type of pet beast he wants to breed yet...

”Boss, there are not many pet beast merchants that Greenleaf Gym cooperates with. There are only these kinds of insect-type pet beasts that have been recorded. Come and take a look.”

In terms of collecting information, Liang Kun, who had written a popular science channel himself, was incredibly efficient. In addition, the basic information about the gym was actually semi-public. It didn’t take much effort for him to compile a lot of useful information.

After taking a look at the temporary document created by Liang Kun, Russell had a general understanding of the use of insect-type pets in the Greenleaf Gym.

Because the Green Leaf Gym focuses on specialized cultivation of leaves, rather than picking flowers and harvesting fruits, the demand for pollination is not large, and it can be met by relying on some conventional pollen fairies and honey pot bees and other pets.

In terms of preventing and controlling pests and diseases, Ye Qingyu, who has deep pockets, directly chose more efficient manual control.

After all, the success rate of specialized breeding is not high. Every specialized plant or pet animal is a valuable test material. You can save money in this aspect. If serious pests and diseases occur, you will lose the watermelon instead of the sesame. .

Judging from the public information, currently only the daily steps of plant growth, fertilizing and loosening the soil seem to be relatively rough, and there is a lot of room for optimization.

In these links, there are about three or four kinds of insect-type pets that play a role.

Considering that Ye Qingyu’s patience was limited, she might think she was a liar if she waited too long, so Russell decided to start with the simplest pet beast.

After reading the information compiled by Liang Kun, he finally determined the type of sample pet beast to be the black iron-level pet beast ”Soil Earthworm”, which has a low presence in the plant cultivation process but is indispensable.

According to the experience of cultivating black-ringed celestial silkworms and giant mulberry silkworms, this extremely low-level insect-type pet beast progresses very quickly.

As long as they undergo an initial energy screening one by one and are often exposed to the nourishment of the ”Cocoon of Evolution”, obvious differences will be visible after ten days and a half.

After one generation of reproduction, it is possible that offspring with higher bloodline levels will be born.

This not only ensures that a batch of high-quality sample beasts can be cultivated in a short period of time, but also can form a sharp contrast with the existing mulch earthworms in the Green Leaf Gym after the cultivation is completed.

As long as the ability of the sample pet beast can impress Ye Qingyu, Yu Chongwu will have a chance to win the cooperation agreement with Green Leaf Gym in one fell swoop.

After deciding on the breeding goal, Russell first placed an order online to purchase dozens of juvenile slough earthworms, and then searched for information about this pet beast on the internal information website of the Beast Control Alliance.

Low-level pet beasts are weak and their abilities are often relatively simple.

As a pure insect beast of the black iron level, the rot earthworm’s innate skill is only one of ”mult transformation” in addition to the most basic ”digging”.

As the name suggests, the ability of mulch earthworms is to dig around and loosen the soil for plants, eat various rotten substances along the way, and then convert them into nutrients that are beneficial to plant growth.

Among the information about slough earthworms, there is a piece of information that is very eye-catching, that is, ”this kind of beast is distributed in almost all areas except deserts and frozen soil.”

This sentence not only means that mulch earthworms are very easy to feed, but also confirms their extraordinary environmental adaptability.

In an internal paper of the Beast Control Alliance, a scholar described the life style of slush earthworms as a ”symbiosis model with almost no threshold.”

The so-called symbiosis model refers to a state in which two organisms are mutually beneficial and live together for a long time.

Adding ”no threshold” in front of this model means that there are many types of pets that slush earthworms can coexist with.

The reason why slush earthworms, which have absolutely no fighting power, are able to bloom everywhere in the wild is on the one hand due to their extremely strong reproduction and regeneration abilities, and on the other hand they gain shelter by providing logistics for other pet beasts.

Plant-based pets naturally warmly welcome neighbors who can create a comfortable environment for themselves and provide nutrients incidentally.

At the same time, many rare plant cultivation materials will also have powerful pet beasts guarding them nearby. In order to ensure that the guarded natural materials and earthly treasures can mature smoothly, they will also provide protection for the mulch earthworms.

Although this kind of protection cannot completely prevent slough earthworms from being preyed on by other small pets, it can at least prevent them from being hunted in large numbers and leading to their annihilation.

”If you want to increase the beneficial effect of mulch earthworms on plants, you should start with its eating and digestion capabilities...”

After gaining a general understanding of the racial characteristics and functionality of mulch earthworms, Russell began to think of ways to optimize this pet beast.

However, before formulating a complete cultivation plan, he still has another task to implement.

That is to choose another free area to build the No. breeding ground of the Imperial Insect House.

It’s not that Russell started to rush for quick success and quick profit when he got some money, and he spent a lot of credit points before everything else. It was because the business of the Royal Insect House was developing too fast, and now the two breeding farms were not enough.

Needless to say, the first breeding farm No. was built. It was filled with black-ringed silkworms and giant mulberry silkworms, and a nest of crickets was also raised there. There was not much space left for a long time.

The No. breeding ground was specially used for the pets ordered by Feiyi Shipping Company. The wealthy Tong Mingzhu shipped thousands of pets in one go, filling the newly expanded breeding ground.

Although Russell purchased only a few dozen mulch earthworms this time, which can be contained in several breeding boxes, considering that there is a high probability that the scale of breeding will be expanded in the future, starting the construction now will save the need to move the pets when the time comes. The trouble of moving around.
