Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 152 Tips on challenging the gymChapter 152 Tips on challenging the gym

Since Russell was participating in the afternoon challenge this time, after playing this game, it was almost time for dinner.

After registering the news of Russell’s clearance, Ye Qingyu gestured to his assistant, who immediately understood and raised the loudspeaker to announce that today’s challenge was over.

After all, the world of beast control is not a game. There is no ”elf center” where the pet beast can be resurrected with full health after a jingling sound.

In order to maintain the fairness of the challenge, the gym must ensure that every pet in the competition is in the best condition.

Therefore, post-game recuperation is an essential part.

Even if you are not injured in the battle, but the energy consumption is relatively large, the recovery time range needs to be calculated in days.

If the losses in the battle are slightly greater, then this time frame will become ”weeks”.

For example, the forest tree demon who had consumed almost all its leaves in the battle with Russell just now, and the Lotte Sunflower, whose energy was completely exhausted, both needed to rest for almost ten days and a half before they could regain their full fighting state.

Although a gym often breeds dozens or hundreds of pet beasts, there are also stages of pet beasts that are old, weak, sick, and disabled. After all, only a few can reach the level of fighting.

The specially bred pet beasts not only have combat value, but also have very good scientific research value, part of which must be provided to the Beast Control Alliance for research according to the contract.

The remaining gym beasts are not exactly the same in strength and cannot be used in any challenge.

A zero-badge level competition like the one Russell signed up for limits the gym to use pet beasts that are around mid-level three.

Therefore, not only can each person in a gym challenge once per month, but the number of challengers it receives every day is also strictly planned.

If you are unlucky and all the previous challengers happen to be on the same level as you and have injured the gym beast...

After the next challenger signs up, he may even have to wait several days for a chance to enter the battle.

Of course, this does not mean that a gym can use the cultivation of pet beasts as an excuse to fish for a long time.

At least one challenge match must be held every day, which is the minimum standard for the gym to pass the quarterly assessment and renew its business license.

Because of this, the rule that ”other certified high-level beast masters can be hired to fight on behalf of the gym while ensuring the quality of the pet beasts” is almost just a piece of paper for most gyms.

After all, even Russell’s two wonderful battles just took only about ten minutes.

It actually doesn’t take a gym owner much time to deal with the challengers who come to the door every day.

The main problem faced by most gyms is the insufficient number of pet beasts that meet the battle standards.

Following Ye Qingyu through the winner’s aisle and on the way to the awards room, Russell was also thinking about how to solve this problem when he opened a gym in the future.

After all... he could see emotions such as being in a hurry and being impatient on Ye Qingyu’s face both times he played against him.

It can be seen that although the challenging work is not tiring, it is still very tiring.

A battle does not take long, but challengers are not lined up and come to the door at a fixed time.

Play a few games in the morning and a few more in the afternoon. At the end of the day, there really isn’t much complete personal time left.

No wonder Dr. Natsuki said half-jokingly when he heard that Russell wanted to open a gym, that would be a hard job...

As for the reason why Ye Qingyu did not hire a gym representative, you can actually understand it with a little thought.

With the cultivation ability of Greenleaf Gym, it can currently only support the supply of pet beasts for one battle field.

There is only one open battle area, and other hired beast masters are allowed to play, but the gym owner himself does not know where to fish. This will undoubtedly greatly reduce the enthusiasm of tourists and challengers, and is not conducive to the reputation of the gym.

Secondly, there are not many mediocre people among high-level beast masters.Allowing other high-level beastmasters to have close contact with the best beasts in their own gyms also makes people worry that the secrets of their cultivation will be leaked.

This is also the main reason.

Legendary beast masters are unattainable to ordinary people, but looking at the entire world of beast masters, there are not even a thousand but hundreds of legendary beast masters.

But among them, there are only a few dozen who can open a gym.

Gym Challenge is not about winning. Personal strength is only one of the assessment criteria, but it is not the only indicator.

The key to being able to ”establish a sect” and drive the development of an area is to have a unique set of pet beast breeding methods that can cultivate a group of pet beasts with distinctive characteristics and form a unique challenge system.

Moreover, the target of this breeding method is preferably a pet beast around the gold level.

After all, the gym has such a large flow of people. It is impossible to catch a bunch of platinum or even purple gold-level pet beasts to meet the needs of the challenge and put them to work in the gym.

The leaf specialization of the Green Leaf Gym Specialization allows mid-to-low-level plant-type pets to display quite good combat effectiveness, which is a very good gym cultivation method.

”The pet beasts cultivated by the cocoon of evolution are not afraid of others stealing their lessons, but the lowest level challenge competitions are all at this level of strength... It seems that we need to choose some insect-type pet beasts suitable for fighting early.”

Russell murmured to himself after recalling the various insights he gained from challenging the gym.

Originally, he felt that he was still a long way from being a legendary beast master, and setting up a gym could only remain in the dream stage for the time being.

However, after experiencing a round of gym challenges in person, Russell suddenly realized that the gym is actually a precision-operated industry line.

The legendary level threshold of the beastmaster himself is only the last hurdle, not the entirety of the gym.

In addition to improving your strength, there are many things that can be prepared in advance.

For example... the work of cultivating gym beasts for use in battles can now be put on the agenda.

Russell is quite confident about this core work.

With the breeding ability of insect-type pets, as long as the quality is up to standard, quantity is definitely not a problem.

With the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent at his side, he doesn’t have to worry about cultivating excellent gym beasts.

Speaking of which, Ayou and Daolang’s training experience can actually be regarded as two ready-made routes.

However, after thinking about it for a while, Russell quickly rejected the idea of designating these two beasts as gym beasts.

”No...the cost is a bit too high.”

Whether it’s the UFO Hawkmoth or the Broadsword Mantis, their initial strength is indeed a bit too weak.

If they weren’t cultivated as contracted beasts and spent millions and millions of resources on them, it would be almost impossible to reach the level they are now.

If you add the keyword ”mass production”, the difficulty will be sky-high.

Even with the help of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, I’m afraid we have to invest heavily and breed for dozens of generations before we have any hope.Even the Senluo City Beast Taming Alliance would not be so generous in feeding materials of this level like mithril ore as ordinary feed.

To control costs, Russell had to choose generals from among the dwarves, and choose an insect race with slightly better innate conditions.

…………

While happily thinking about his plan for the gym, Russell followed Ye Qingyu through several botanical garden-like areas. Russell finally arrived at the Hall of Honor where the gym badges were awarded.

Perhaps because the pass rate of the Greenleaf Gym was indeed a bit too low, this place that should have been lively and full of laughter and laughter actually seemed very deserted.

According to the unified decoration style inside the gym, the Hall of Honor is also filled with various green plants.

Giant leaf-shaped decorations are hung on the floor, ceiling, and prominent locations on various main walls of the hall, highlighting the theme of the Greenleaf Gym.

It is not difficult to tell from the low-key and high-end decoration of the Green Leaf Gym and the various rare pet beasts that often appear in the botanical gardens passing by...

Even though the gym’s business is not doing well and it is often at the bottom of the industry, Ye Qingyu’s financial resources are still very strong.

Moreover, the gym leader is also considered to be half of the top members of the Beast Taming Alliance, and he has a transcendent status that ordinary businessmen cannot catch up to.

No wonder, except for a few beast masters who pursue the ultimate in combat or are obsessed with scientific research, most people will regard opening a gym as their life ideal after reaching the legendary level.

It’s a pity that there is not even a single person in the huge awards area of the Greenleaf Gym.

Apparently, Russell was the only one to pass the challenge today.

”Young man, you really lived up to my expectations.”

One more person has been added to the assessment index. Ye Qingyu seems to be in a good mood thinking that he won’t have to listen to the alliance commissioner’s chanting this month.

Since the gym owner is a pragmatic person, the awards ceremony at the Greenleaf Gym is relatively simple.

After reading a short speech written in advance, Ye Qingyu simply handed a green badge into Russell’s hands.

The overall shape of this badge is that of a large tree with three large green leaves. The root system of the tree is also depicted as being very developed, almost filling the lower part of the badge.

From the composition of the badge, we can directly see the two major elements: the specialization of the leaves and the field of life roots.

He didn’t know what material this badge was made of, but Russell felt fresh and soothing when he held it in his hand.

Although he had limited knowledge about gemstones and could not identify the material of this badge, he knew without thinking that something representing the appearance of a gym must be high-end goods.

Moreover, most of them also contain a little bit of the power of the main pet beast of the museum owner, such as the tranquility and plant abilities of the Ancient Tree of Life, which match the feeling of Russell holding the badge very well.

No wonder some people on the Internet say that collecting a few more gym badges can help you maintain your health. It turns out it’s true…

With the development of the Internet, the current gym badge management is also very user-friendly.

Because the gym challenge record will be directly related to the personal identity code, even if the badge body is accidentally lost, it will not affect the beast master’s qualifications for subsequent competitions or job hunting.

However, Russell has no plans to participate in a small competition where a badge can skip the audition for the time being, nor does he plan to find a job, nor does he dare to rush to Longquan City to challenge the Beast Taming Hall.

Therefore, for him, the green leaf badge is currently just a decoration with some health-preserving functions and has no other benefits.

”Documentary information shows that you live alone and run a pretty good pet shop?”

Because Russell showed elementary domain abilities during the battle, Ye Qingyu was now very interested in him. After giving out the badges, he was not in a hurry to leave, but chatted with him.

Russell was already used to the behavior of members of the Beast Control Alliance who frequently checked their household registration.

Ye Qingyu, the master of the hall, always wears muddy overalls every time he appears. His emotions and sorrows are basically all on his face. He doesn’t look like he has a palace, and Russell has no sense of defense against him.

Acknowledging the information she said, Russell politely asked:
”You can speak up if you have something to say.”

Speaking of it, not only did he not resent Ye Qingyu’s attention to him, but he also had some small expectations.

After all, the current strength, financial resources, and status of the two are quite different. If they are related to each other, they will take advantage of them.

”I am very happy to have an outstanding junior like you in Senluo City. If you need some cooperation channels, I can serve as an intermediary and recommend to you key members of the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance.”

Seeing Russell’s calm attitude, Ye Qingyu also expressed his goodwill frankly.

Unless they need to be close to some special resources, legendary beast masters who open gyms will usually choose their hometown as their address.

Ye Qingyu, the leader of the Green Leaf Gym, is a native of Senluo City.

The undeveloped area of the world of beast control is extremely vast, and it is far from being involuted. For high-level beast control masters, other high-end combat forces are not enemies most of the time, but potential partners.

Judging from Russell’s performance in the battle, it is only a matter of time before he becomes a strong player on his own.

Being able to witness the growth of a new generation of high-level beast masters in my hometown is naturally much easier than meeting the already famous masters everywhere.

”Well... thank you for your kindness, but I have worked with Dr. Xia Mu several times, so we should be considered acquaintances...”

Hearing this, Russell was a little stunned.

Speaking of which, I probably have more connections with the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance than Director Ye...

But if you think about it carefully, it is normal for Ye Qingyu not to know about his dealings with the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance.

Gym leaders do not completely obey the orders of the Beast Taming Alliance, so sensitive information within the alliance should not be fully disclosed to them.

Living a life of commuting between the challenge arena and the botanical garden all day long, Curator Ye probably didn’t pay attention to the recent news, and didn’t know about the Beast Control Alliance and the Garrison Legion’s support for the Insect House.

But Ye Qingyu’s kindness was commendable, and Russell still solemnly expressed his gratitude to her.

”Well...that’s it. Then I’ll go and get busy. You can return on your own.”

Hearing Russell’s answer, Ye Qingyu didn’t feel too surprised.

It seems natural for an outstanding young man from Senluo City to receive the attention of the Beast Taming Alliance.

After saying that, she nodded, then picked up the shovel and prepared to go to the botanical garden.

However, as soon as Ye Qingyu took two steps, Russell’s questioning voice suddenly came from behind her:
”Director Ye, although it may sound a bit presumptuous, I would like to ask if the Green Leaf Gym is interested in cooperating with the Imperial Insect House?”
