Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 171 Night attack on the stolen fire groupAfter telling Lu Yinning that he was going on a business trip for a while and recuperating for two days, Russell appeared on time in a remote alley somewhere on Fenglin Road at midnight on the third day.

A shadow priest once appeared near the Imperial Insect House. He didn’t know if the other party had left anything for detection, so naturally he wouldn’t go through the main entrance.

Using Ayou’s ability to master shadows and the veil of night in his off-road suit, Russell almost hid in the shadows and slipped over.

”I’ve arrived at the designated coordinates.”

After looking at the location information on his phone, he quickly sent a message to Dr. Xia Mu

In such a large-scale operation, all parties were well prepared. After a while, a three-eyed owl flew quietly in front of Russell.

This kind of pet beast that had been trained by the Beast Control Alliance early on was very docile. After chirping twice, it dragged him steadily into the air.

”Let me go...is this an arc light airship?”

Passing through the clouds, he saw a huge airship suspended in the air with a strange light flowing on its surface. Russell couldn’t help but look like Grandma Liu had entered the Grand View Garden for the first time.

As a ”knowledge-seeking young man” who surfs the Internet intensively every day, he has seen introductions about arc light airships in many videos of military fans.

This large-scale military pet beast integrates many cutting-edge mechanical pet technologies, and its bloodline level has reached the peak of the purple-gold level.

If the energy problem hadn’t been completely solved and many high-end devices were restricted from opening, its theoretical attack and defense levels would even be comparable to the legendary crystal-level pet beasts.

The reason why this large airship is named after arc light is precisely because of the hazy halo that is constantly flowing around the ship.

It is a secret technology derived from another large-scale secret realm, ”Clockwork Labyrinth”, which has extremely strong energy protection, detection shielding and visual mimicry effects.

To put it simply, it is the ultimate top version of mithril armor, which can make the arc light airship immune to most energy attacks below high-level, and can even avoid the scanning of the purple-gold satellite pet beast ”Eye of the Sky” in the sky.

Of course, this does not mean that Daolang’s skill configuration is too ordinary.

Strictly speaking, except for a few branches dedicated to combat, mechanical pet beasts are usually not used to directly compare their strength with conventional pet beasts.

After all, the structure of the mechanical pet beast is completely artificially designed, which can improve a certain aspect of ability to the extreme.

For example, a small floating e-mule with a silver-level rating can sprint faster than many gold-level pet beasts at full sprint.

But in contrast, this silver-level pet beast has no combat skills except electromagnetic acceleration and anti-gravity levitation.

In wild pet animals, this situation basically does not happen.

After all, even those as weak as UFO Hawk Moths and Rot Earthworms still have some harassment control skills.

Furthermore, mechanical beasts cannot restore energy through simple natural eating, nor can they grow on their own. Maintaining, supplying energy, and updating the system are all very arduous tasks.

This is why they are mostly used in industries such as transportation and detection, and rarely appear in competitive venues.

…………

While thinking, the three-eyed owl had flown to the near side of the arc light airship. A small hatch slowly opened, allowing one person and one pet to enter the airship smoothly.

After boarding the airship, Russell immediately saw many familiar faces.

General Mo Lin, Dr. Xia Mu, two local officers from Senluo City, Yan Songbai and Meng Yuanfeng, Sheriff Ding An, two teammates Jiang Xue and Chen Yuan, and city defense officer Tu Tiezhu were all there.

In addition, there were several rows of Alliance sergeants sitting in the lounge inside the airship, waiting for them.

Although the battles between the beastmaster forces were fought in groups, the number of people was still much smaller than in the real world.

The one hundred or so people on board this military aircraft were the entire strength of this operation.

On the one hand, the source of a beast master’s combat power is his pet beast. It is common for an intermediate beast master to contract three or four adult pet beasts.

The pet beasts are reasonably configured, with long-range attack, melee combat, and a shield. One person is actually equivalent to a single-soldier team.

On the other hand, it is because the strength gap between pet beasts often increases exponentially.

In this world, no matter you are a soldier or a general, it is all a matter of one bullet. However, when fighting against high-level beasts, middle- and low-level beasts cannot even break through the defense, and large numbers are of no use.

Besides, after all, we are not engaged in a pioneering war with the native pet beasts in the forest.

If too many people go there, it is easy to anger the high-level pet beasts living in the Black Dew Forest and trigger a beast tide, leading to extraneous problems.

Anyway, a hundred or so people are not too many, but they are definitely more than the people of the Fire Stealing Group.

”Everyone is here, let’s head to the Black Dew Forest immediately.”

Seeing Russell sitting down next to the other two exploration team members, General Mo Lin waved his hand, and the arc light airship was filled with light and entered the starting state.

Not long after, this large airship changed from its metallic translucent state to a gray-black color that perfectly blended into the night.

As the hull of the boat began to shake slightly, the arc light airship was like an inconspicuous black cloud in the night sky, quickly flying towards the Black Dew Forest.

”Hello, Mr. Russell.”

After Russell sat down, Jiang Xue, who was very outgoing during the video conference, immediately reached out to him enthusiastically.

”Don’t be so polite, just call me Russell.”

After shaking hands with Jiang Xue, Russell felt very fond of this young lady wearing a white nurse uniform.

In a secret realm where anything can happen, having a reliable doctor as a teammate can greatly improve safety.

Chen Yuan seemed relatively taciturn and just nodded to show friendship.

”Little brother, we have met several times, do you still remember?”

After the two teammates, Tu Tiezhu, who was in charge of the security of the exploration team, also greeted Luo with a smile.

All in all, he was the first group of alliance personnel Russell came into contact with in Senluo City.

However, Russell used to be just a young working man who went out of the city to work part-time at the Black Dew Forest Trial Field. Now he is the captain of the secret exploration team appointed by General Mo Lin, and Tu Tiezhu respects him very much.

Although he is a fifth-level beast master, all the animals he has contracted are military-standard beasts, and his talent for breeding is average. It is impossible for him to do a job above city defense.

Russell sees that he will at least be a well-known figure in Senluo City from now on. He will become a familiar face in this operation, and he may be able to have a social connection in the future...

…………

The arc light airship flies very fast, and Senluo City is not far from the Black Dew Forest.

Even though they deliberately lowered their speed in order to hide their whereabouts, after a few hours, everyone successfully arrived at the core area of the Black Dew Forest.

At this time, the sky just turned white, and it was just before dawn.

”The detection team immediately observes the situation below. Each team is prepared. If there are no special circumstances, it will land in 5 minutes!” General Mo Lin not only has strong strength, but also has rich combat experience. As soon as the airship arrived at the designated location, he issued a series of orders.

Obviously, the arrival time of everyone did not happen to be at dawn, but was calculated in advance.

In Tu Tiezhu’s words, the period before dawn is usually when people are the sleepiest and most relaxed.

The garrison of the Beast Control Alliance has sufficient manpower and has also built many monitoring fortifications, so it can patrol without blind spots 24 hours a day.

Even if some infiltrators are missed, it is basically because the opponent’s stealth ability exceeds the detection level, not due to negligence.

However, the number of members of the Fire Stealing Group is very small. Even the insect masters have to go to the city to kidnap them. Naturally, there are not enough manpower dedicated to patrolling.

The alliance officials dispatched arc light airships with extremely strong concealment capabilities, and deliberately chose to operate in the middle of the night, just to catch them off guard.

Not long after, the arc light airship lowered to a height of only 20 meters above the ground under the command of General Mo Lin.

This is also the most extreme distance that an airship can achieve.

Because arc light technology is like the soil layer of modern stealth aircraft, it is mainly used to resist long-distance detection, and it also brings some visual mimicry effects.

But if you really have to go very close, not even a blind person can see such a big airship.

”All landed!”

Following General Mo Lin’s order, a group of hundreds of people jumped off the airship in batches amid the silent and neat movements of the sergeants.

Naturally, this also includes Russell’s secret exploration team.

Most of the sergeants stationed in the legion have contracted powerful gale war eagles. A mature fifth-level gale war eagle can easily carry the weight of two or three people.

I saw a large group of dark blue birds flying out from the hatch below the airship one after another and falling into the forest at an extremely fast speed.

In order not to waste any time, after everyone landed, General Mo Lin summoned the Bone Crushing Ax Dragon without saying a word, and then directly launched a charge towards the Fire Stealing Regiment’s camp a hundred meters away.

At the same time, the arc light airship rose to high altitude again and turned on its scanning function to provide assistance for ground battles.

”Why don’t you use an airship to blow up the stolen fire ball from the sky first?”

Looking at the arc light airship in the distance, Russell couldn’t understand why he had to come down to engage in hand-to-hand combat with such a powerful weapon.

”If the arc light airship is converted into an ordinary pet beast, it belongs to the ninth level of purple gold level strength, and it is also a giant type. It is extremely eye-catching in the wild...”

Hearing this, Jiang Xue patiently explained to Russell.

When using high-power anti-personnel weapons, the outer arc energy of the arc airship will naturally fail, and its whereabouts will naturally be exposed.

And gigantism refers to not only the large size, but also the huge amount of energy.

In terms of quantitative comparison, this large airship pet beast that can carry hundreds of people has a total amount of energy stored at least four to five times that of the Bone-crushing Tomahawk Dragon.

Although this ratio may not sound high, it is actually extremely exaggerated.

You must know that the energy level of the ninth-level pet beast itself has reached an extremely high level. If it is increased four or five times, it may be comparable to some mythical creatures with poor endurance.

Once energy fluctuations of this size are emitted directly in the depths of unexplored land, they will inevitably trigger a siege by a horde of beasts.

Furthermore, there are also high-level beast masters in the Fire Stealing Group.

If the air strikes are not strong enough, they can only kill miscellaneous soldiers. When the time comes, these masters will hide in the beast tide and launch sneak attacks. The alliance will be attacked from both sides, and the situation will not be much better.

It would be even more difficult to achieve a level of attack intensity that could seriously injure a high-level beast master.

Although this kind of attack is not enough to destroy the entire secret realm, if the entrance to the secret realm is destroyed, then the operation will be meaningless.

After all, the entrance to a secret realm is like a door lock. It is easy to block it and break it. If you want to restore it, you don’t know how much effort it will take.

Therefore, unless the operation fails and an immediate retreat is reached, a war machine of this level will not take action easily.

”Let’s stand still and wait for General Mo Lin to lead his men in.”

While Russell and Jiang Xue were talking, Tu Tiezhu sprayed the team with odor remover very professionally, and picked a very tall ancient tree to watch the situation on the front battlefield.

Coveting the resources behind the large secret realm, the Fire Stealing Group must have gathered all the elite forces.

A battle of that level is indeed not something that these fourth and fifth level beast masters can mess with.

Tu Tiezhu said he was in charge of the team’s security, but in fact the main thing to prevent was Russell’s lack of experience in the field and being attacked by wild beasts.

”Okay...it’s a pity that I don’t have the chance to beat those perverts myself.”

Russell also knew that the arrangement of the Beast Control Alliance was very reasonable. Although he felt it was a pity, he would not commit personal heroism and insist on charging into the battle.

After watching from a distance for a long time, Russell almost dozed off when he heard Tu Tiezhu say from time to time that General Mo Lin had defeated several beast masters of the Fire Stealing Group.

But at this moment, the mobile phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated.

After answering the call from Dr. Natsuki, Russell thought he was going to inform him that he could go to the secret realm.

Unexpectedly, Dr. Xiamu’s tone was very anxious, and what he said shocked him:
”Russell, move your position quickly, something is wrong! There are only two high-level beast masters in the camp who are just showing up. The main force of the Fire Stealing Group is missing, and several teams responsible for logistics are missing!”

After hearing this, even if Russell was not an expert in commanding operations, he knew that the surprise part of the operation was a failure.

The Fire Stealing Group had obviously learned the accurate news that the Beast Mastering Alliance was going to launch a raid tonight, and deliberately left the camp door wide open. In fact, the main members were hiding in the woods.

Anyway, the entrance to the secret realm will exclude non-insect beast masters, so it doesn’t matter even if it is temporarily occupied by the beast master alliance.

And while Mo Lin and others were attracted by the camp and the secret realm, they could penetrate directly into the rear of the Beast Control Alliance team.

Thinking of this, Russell couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat.

They don’t even want the camp, they also want to cut off the Beast Control Alliance’s escape route. The Fire Thieves are really planning to fight with the Alliance to the end!
”Be careful!... Enemy attack!”

Before he had time to think about how an organization that had been secretly working against disgusting people suddenly became so high-profile and fierce, Russell was already thrown to the ground by Tu Tiezhu, who was shouting loudly.

When he came back to his senses, he found that there was a ferocious slash mark where he had just been standing.

Above the split soil, a ghostly black shadow slowly faded into the darkness.

That was the vicious pet beast that nearly chopped Russell into a cripple last time - the shadow of death!
Then, several figures wearing the iconic black robes of the Shadow Order appeared around them.

Accompanied by a cold feeling that hit his face, the man in black at the head let out a playful and sinister laugh:
”Haha... I heard that you want to beat us perverts to death?” (End of Chapter)
