Beast Taming: Becoming a Bug-type Elite Four Member Starting with Silkworm Raising

Chapter 164 Start EvolutionIn the next few days, Russell stayed in the Royal Insect House, feeding Ayou the Nether Toxic Solution on time.

Because Nether Poison is a composite toxin of poison and ghost types, both energies will increase together after eating.

Ayou’s previous growth progress reached more than 80.00%, and it didn’t take long for him to reach the edge of evolution.

However, Russell estimated that it must have at least about % of the poison energy in its body to ensure that it will evolve in the direction of the Huang Quan Moth.

For this reason, he could only draw some insect energy from Ayou’s body.

While Russell tried his best to properly match the energy ratio for himself, Ayou also gritted his teeth and persisted in the spiritual transformation that had been maintained for more than ten days.

As time goes by, its state becomes closer to that of a ghost.

Observed with the naked eye, the blurred range of Ayou’s wings is getting wider and wider, and Russell can even pass through the edge of it with his fingers.

If you touch the wings for a little longer, you can feel the cold touch of touching the spirit body.

These characteristics are all consistent with the basic attributes of Huang Quan Moth.

In addition, during the cultivation process, Russell also made a very important unexpected discovery.

The spirit state is equivalent to temporarily suppressing other attributes and increasing the proportion of ghost energy in the pet’s body.

After maintaining the state of spiritual transformation for a long time, more than half of the ghost energy activated in Ayou’s body has been activated.

If the shadow form skill is also superimposed and turned on, this ratio will rise again, reaching almost %.

However, usually this temporary change is restored after the skill is released, and Russell did not pay much attention to it before.

However, because of this special opportunity to unlock the controllable spiritual body, Russell completely confirmed the suspicion that he had been aware of before.

That is... as the ghost energy in Ayou’s body becomes more and more concentrated, the mental power consumption of using the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent will become higher and higher.

In fact, in the process of raising Ayou and Daolang, he felt that he was gradually struggling.

However, because the insect energy in the two contracted beasts was absolutely dominant and never less than half, this feeling of difficulty was not very obvious.

In addition, both Ayou and Daolang have grown in strength very quickly. Russell attributed the slight difficulty to the normal gap caused by cultivating higher-level beasts.

However, when Ayou was under the blessing of dual skills and the proportion of insect energy in his body was reduced to less than %, he suddenly understood.

It turns out that the effect of using the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent is directly related to the proportion of insect energy in the pet’s body.

Through this discovery, Russell’s idea of cultivating pet beasts and not abandoning insect attributes was further strengthened.

According to his own personal experience, at least about % of the energy of the insect-type pet must be retained in order to more easily filter the energy for the contracted beast.

While he had nothing to do in the insect room, Russell also picked out the type of security pet.

Originally, he was more inclined to choose a spider-like pet that could weave webs and was good at hibernating.

However, after sifting through a lot of information on pet beasts, Russell found that most spider pet beasts did not have symbiotic habits.

Even if the communication ability of the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent prevents the two spider beasts from attacking each other, their webs will interfere with each other, greatly reducing each other’s abilities.

The pink velvet spider family is an extremely rare spiritual-type plus insect-type spider beast. Thanks to the support of strong mental power, their perception ability is much higher than that of insect-type pet beasts of the same level.

The main function of the security system is to provide timely warning, which can hinder the intruders to some extent and buy time for additional personnel. It relies entirely on this trap to kill the enemy.

It would be a completely different idea to completely abandon the use of pink velvet spiders just to introduce a powerful poisonous pet spider.

Furthermore, the training threshold for spider beasts that are not too high is usually not very high.

It is basically impossible to raise some bronze and silver level spider beasts and just want to directly stick the opponent with spider webs.

This means that the role of the spider web is destined to be only perception and exploration, rather than a powerful means of control.

After thinking about it, Russell had to give up on letting the two spider beasts be responsible for security together.

Fortunately, when he was looking up information on spider pets, he happened to find a pet that was very suitable for performing security tasks with the pink velvet spider.
That is the black iron-level poison-type and insect-type pet beast - Gray Plague Mosquito.

Because this kind of mosquito pet is one of the spider pets’ favorite foods, basically every information about the spider pet will mention the gray plague mosquito.

The name of this pet beast comes from a great plague called ”Grey Death”.

According to legend, during the period of the Gray Death, tens of millions of humans and tens of millions of pet animals turned into gray mummies and died. The scene was extremely tragic.

In the end, it even alarmed the tenth-level pet beast living above the Sun Tree in the Southern Principality, Matus, the Dragon of Hope with dual attributes of light and dragon.

With the help of the power of the Holy Tree and multiple ninth-level beast masters, Matus flew to the top of the Sun Tree and rained down a purifying light rain, which prevented the plague from spreading further and causing an irreversible situation.

As the first pet animal discovered to carry the ”Gray Death” bacteria, the plague mosquito is also the carrier of the bacteria with the widest distribution and the largest number of infections. Naturally, it received this less glorious name...

However, the ”grey death” germ has not reappeared in the world for nearly a hundred years, and the gray plague mosquito is now just a relatively annoying large mosquito and has little to do with death.

Because of the innate skill ”Bacterial Symbiosis” and the high resistance brought by the poison attribute, plague mosquitoes can safely carry most common pathogenic bacteria, as well as some less severe toxins, but they will not be harmed by them. Influence.

This is also the reason why Russell favors him.

Thanks to the soul feedback brought by the beast control contract, most beast control masters above the intermediate level rarely get sick.

Normally, plague mosquitoes living in cities only carry some less serious pathogenic bacteria, so they hardly arouse their precautions.

Of course, this does not mean that those beast control masters are too conceited. After all, even during the ”Gray Death” plague, most of the people who died were of low-level strength.

In the wild and in deadly fights, there are many pets that are more dangerous than gray plague mosquitoes.

Relying on physical fitness and the level of coercion exuded by the contracted beasts, ordinary gray plague mosquitoes indeed pose almost no threat to them.

However, plague mosquitoes cultivated through the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent are not as easy to deal with as wild mosquitoes.

After just a few generations of breeding, Russell can greatly improve their poison abilities.

As the old saying goes, the body of a beast master is far more fragile than that of a pet beast.

Mosquitoes have a low sense of presence, and their flight sounds and energy fluctuations are difficult to capture. The victim will not feel anything when bitten, making it easy to find opportunities to attack.

Even the black iron-level Gray Plague Mosquito, if it carries some more difficult germs and also masters skills such as disease deepening and antibody disintegration, is enough for most mid-level beast masters to drink a pot.

The sources of plague mosquitoes are also very wide. Simply put, they can be found everywhere.

As long as it is not the cold season, you can find many larvae of the gray plague mosquito in any damp and dark pond.

It was still late summer, and Russell only searched around for a while before bringing back a bucket of muddy water containing hundreds of babies. With the group screening ability given by the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent, he only needs a little time to complete the cultivation of this batch of mosquito larvae.

According to the data previously reviewed, the growth cycle of plague mosquitoes is about one month, so Russell is not in a hurry.

After screening the first wave of abilities for them, Russell placed the bucket in the corner of the insect room, and then continued to concentrate on making advanced preparations for Ayou.

…………

Eighteen days is not a short time, but if you repeat the same life every day, it actually goes by in the blink of an eye.

Because the goal of this evolution is to get closer to the Underworld Moth, the main advancement material is naturally the remaining Nether Poisonous Solution.

The toxicity of Nether Poison is so severe that as long as the dose is slightly larger, it will destroy the efficacy of many other cultivation materials.

So Russell was too lazy to look for materials of the same level to coordinate with it, and instead directly obtained a ripe sun tree fruit from the Senluo City Beast Control Alliance.

As a high-end version of the useless warm orange fruit, the life energy contained in the sun tree fruit is mild and long-lasting, which is suitable for making up for the adverse reactions caused by taking a large amount of netherworld poison at one time.

After preparing the advanced materials, Russell paid close attention to Ayou’s condition.

After all, the longer the spirit body is maintained, the greater the pressure of losing control.

If Ayou suddenly loses control and releases his spiritual form, then the efforts made some time ago will be greatly reduced and he will have to start all over again.

Therefore, when the power in Ayou’s body once again exceeded 90.00%, Russell decisively let him drink the mixed solution of Nether Poison and Sun Tree Juice.

call……

”It tastes so bad, so painful...”

The Nether Poison he drank this time accounted for nearly 20.00% of the total volume of the solution in the bottle. As soon as the gray-yellow liquid entered his mouth, Ayou immediately felt severe discomfort.

At the same time, the poison energy and ghost energy in its body increased rapidly, and soon exceeded 100% of the total.

In the process of evolution, this phenomenon of energy exceeding the total amount of growth progress is called energy overload.

Strictly speaking, energy overload corresponds to the golden saying of ”risks and opportunities coexist.” It is difficult to judge whether it is good or bad.

The advantage of this state is that you can use the opportunity of evolution to tap the potential of your pet as much as possible.

If you can stabilize the overload all the way until the evolution is completed, you can get more improvements and increases.

The disadvantage of energy overload is that for every time the total energy exceeds one percent, the probability of the pet beast’s evolution failure will increase by several percentage points.

Because of this, most beast masters will still consciously avoid energy overload.

After all, evolutionary failure is no joke.

It can cause permanent irreversible damage at worst, or cause direct death at worst. Taking such risks in exchange for a partial improvement in evolutionary effects is obviously a bad deal.

When preparing for the evolution of Ayou and Daolang, Russell also specially controlled their total energy, and basically completed the evolution at a state that just reached the full value. ,

Probably because the cultivation materials used in this evolution were too advanced, the phenomenon of energy overload occurred.

However, this cannot be blamed on his lack of preparation.

After all, other third-level gold-level pet beasts may not even dare to touch the poison of the netherworld.

Looking at the entire world of beast control, Ayou’s evolutionary path is probably unique.

Although the ”Cocoon of Evolution” talent can drain away the excess energy from Ayou’s body, it is still in the process of evolution.

Russell himself didn’t know if removing a large amount of energy would have other negative effects on Ayou’s evolution.

”Can you still hold on? If you feel something is wrong, tell me immediately!”

After thinking for a moment, Russell decided to leave the initiative in Ayou’s own hands.

Anyway, losing control of energy does not happen in a moment. The pet beast that carries this energy with its body has the most direct feeling of whether it has lost control.

When Ayou can no longer hold on, he will slowly drain away the energy. This should have the smallest impact on evolution.

woohoo...

”It’s uncomfortable, but I can bear it...”

Ayou struggled to reply to Russell’s question.

At this time, the total amount of energy in its body just exceeded %, and Russell did not feel any signs of soul backlash for the time being.

However, what happened next made him feel completely relaxed. .

A ghost’s wings were seen swaying, and the thin black energy lines began to grow wildly, and soon its body was enveloped in a circular energy shield.

This scene is exactly the same as when it first evolved from the black-ringed hawkmoth into the UFO hawkmoth.

That is the most reliable means of evolution for pet moths - cocooning.

During the second evolution, Ayou also performed similar actions based on instinct.

However, its energy control level was limited at that time, and the energy in its body was not as full as it is now, so it only created a symbolic layer of energy cocoon.

But now, the black cocoon wrapping Ayou is completely woven from energy threads, and its sealing and protection are incomparable.

It spent a lot of energy weaving a black cocoon, and the overloaded energy in its body also stopped growing and remained at a level of %.

This number seemed to be the level that Ayou could adapt to, and Russell did not bother with it anymore, insisting on pumping its energy to exactly %.

Looking at this cocoon that was somewhat familiar but felt completely different, Russell suddenly thought that he could weave a cocoon with his pet beast.

At such a critical moment in evolution, it is natural to use all the resources and means available.

Thinking of this, he immediately stretched out his hand and incorporated a lot of the milky white energy threads gifted by the ”Cocoon of Evolution” into the black cocoon.

After Ayou’s cocoon was completely stable and the energy fluctuations emitted became calmer, Russell, who had consumed a lot of mental energy, leaned on the recliner and rested.

Now, all he could do was wait.

When this black cocoon breaks open, Ayou will appear again with a brand new appearance. (End of chapter)
