I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 623 - 606: Exchange
Chapter 623: Chapter 606: Exchange

Although it was difficult to predict the situation of this Universe Competition based on information from previous competitions, each competition hardly consumed any real time. No matter how long the contest lasted, in reality, it was just a moment.

This way, Mu Ying didn’t have to worry about other Trialists who hadn’t received an invitation to the Universe Competition overtaking her in terms of Law Control during the contest period.

Last time, she had surged her Contribution to the natural laws too much and found it difficult to control the timing of comprehension. To avoid missing the competition, she decided to start adding 1% Contribution each time to the Witch Law, where she had the highest Affinity, and then comprehend to increase control.

a 100% Affinity was indeed significant, enhancing 1% control could take at most half a month, and sometimes even just a week.

A few days later, Edwin’s accumulated Source Power had reached the requirements to open the Third Trial World early, so he initiated it and simultaneously received the invitation to the Universe Competition, confirming that opening the Third Trial World before the competition guaranteed eligibility.

Mu Ying gathered with other invited Trialists like Edwin, Draco, and Li Luoxia to chat.

Mu Ying shared the information she had acquired.

Everyone was trying to earn resources for their Mother Star, but in reality, they couldn’t help each other during the competition. Meeting in the competition was uncertain, let alone with everyone adopting new identities. They could only share some information before the match.

However, they agreed that on the day of the competition, they would all enter the contest from the resting room of Tree House No. 888 and discuss their experiences afterwards.

Later, as Vinica and Atom awoke, Edwin also informed them of the competition news.

Everyone who had embarked on the Path to God knew the significance of Source Power; for years, they had been earnestly attempting trials to earn Source Power and allocate Contribution Points to enhance their Contribution to the laws. Now, with an event that could earn Source Power without consuming real time and was within their capabilities, naturally, they didn’t want to miss it.

A year later, just before the start of the Universe Competition, the eight Trialists from Deep Blue Star gathered again at Tree House No. 888.

Edwin sensed a dangerous aura from the others, ”Have you all become demigods?”

”And me,” Li Luoxia sighed, ”I hope this competition gives me a chance to reach the laws.”

”Being a demigod and a legend isn’t much different. The Path to God is too hard,” Vinica sighed as well.

The others nodded their heads.

This was the first time everyone sat together to discuss the Path to God and it turned out to be a deeply emotional conversation.

Mu Ying: ”???”

Is it really that difficult? Isn’t it just a matter of accumulating Source Power through trials and comprehending it?

”You all must have almost accumulated enough Contribution Points for a Second-level Law by now, right? With Contribution Points, isn’t mastering a law just a matter of time?” Mu Ying couldn’t help but ask.

The others: ”...”

”We’re far from it. I’ve almost given up on the Second and Third Trial Worlds now, as the Source Power output is too low. I’ve been focusing entirely on the First Trial World until now, and I’ve only accumulated just over sixty thousand Source Power,” Vinica said.

”So have I,” Maz had never imagined that one day he would abandon other Trial Worlds to focus exclusively on the First Trial World, where he used to hate cooking every day.

Draco and Atom also indicated that they felt the same way.

Li Luoxia, on the other hand, could understand them: ”Apart from the First Trial World, the subsequent ones are far too real, and the trial characters even have lifespans. It’s indeed impossible to manage everything. I’m practically half-giving up on my First Trial World now. My Second Trial World focuses on Source Power, which I do not lack anymore, but what I lack is a Bloodline Resource like that of the green witch that could win me favor with the Law. I can only pin my hopes on the Third Trial World now.”

At the last gathering, when they knew she was struggling to find a way to break free from the Priest profession and ascend to godhood on her own, Mu Ying spoke to her about the Bloodline Law.

She had wanted to integrate the Witch Bloodline before, but she had given up now since the first owner of a bloodline transformed by others would inevitably be someone else, making it hard for her to compete. She could only try her best to find other resources exclusive to herself in the Trial Worlds.

Only then was Mu Ying reminded that no one else could balance three initial Trial Worlds like she did.

None of them had fully developed the First Trial World, nor did they have villagers like those in her Square World to help with chores and harvest resources. So if the Second and Third Trial Worlds were not focused on Source Power, earning Source Power meant focusing on the First Trial World. Since the latter two Trial Worlds had just begun, time would pass simultaneously, making it really inconvenient.

In the end, only Chisima Keiko shook her head: ”I’m not in a hurry to accumulate Source Power, and I’m also focusing on exploring the Third Trial World. I’ll probably give up on the Second Trial World.”

”Why aren’t you in a rush? Don’t you perceive the Laws?” Vinica asked curiously, her aura clearly that of a demigod already.

”On my Path to God, my current Laws are Druid and natural, with 60% Druid Affinity and 55% natural Law Affinity. I’m not confident in mastering either of these Laws, but luckily, I have a way to gain other Law Affinities in my Second Trial World,” Chisima Keiko said.

Who could compete with Mu Ying in both the Druid and natural Laws? Not long ago, after she completed her first perception, she had privately asked Mu Ying about her affinities and the speed of her perception of these Laws.

The gap was too big. Her lower affinity resulted in her perception of the Laws taking several times longer than Mu Ying. Even if she focused solely on the Druid Law, it would be very difficult to surpass her.

There might be a slight chance, but the Contribution Points spent would not return, and if she failed, it would be a waste of those points.

Moreover, with the newly opened Third Trial World providing a channel to obtain other Law Affinities, she decided to focus on that Law, another Bloodline Law, with potential and a higher limit than the Druid Law.

Mu Ying heard this for the first time and couldn’t believe Chisima Keiko would give up her current Laws so easily.

Wouldn’t she then have all five Laws without competitors, securely in her grasp?

None of the others had any conflicts with her Laws either.

Draco and Maz’s Laws were rather specific, all Professional Laws. Both planned to secure their respective Professional Laws first. If no other competitors arose, they would then look for other Laws.

Atom and Vinica were better situated, with Atom overseeing the Laws of Shadow and Wanderer, and Vinica covering the Laws of Bard, Music, and Art.

In this way, she could rest a lot easier, just needing to watch if the next batch of Trialists would have Laws that competed with hers. Even if there were, they probably could not catch up to her. A year later, she would just need to focus on perceiving the Laws.
