I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 609: 592: Staff MeetingChapter 609: Chapter 592: Staff Meeting

After applying the magic, another day had passed, the setting sun was low in the sky, and it was the perfect time to enjoy a lovely meal.

Mu Ying plopped down on the grass, took out some portable cooking utensils, and cast a Cooking Magic spell.

As the food cooked itself, she finally remembered to check the Territory Internal Network, which she hadn’t looked at in a long time.

As soon as she opened it, she didn’t even get the chance to see the forums; her inbox was flooded with private messages, and she had nearly 99+ notifications from work groups tagging her.

She guiltily opened one to see that they were all work-related reports.

Mu Ying (Lord Boss): “So, I’m about to have hotpot, maybe I should add a few more pairs of chopsticks for you all? @all members”

Lu You (Education Director): “You’ve finally replied to messages, if you hadn’t, I was going to call you! Share your location! I’m coming!”

Liu Luoluo (Breeding Director): “Heaven be praised, our laissez-faire manager has finally responded, share your location!”

Zheng Jing (Beast Taming Leader): “Share your location!”

...

In just a few breaths, the group chat exploded.

Mu Ying looked at the flurry of ‘share your location’ messages in the group and then at her own small pot.

She quietly arranged a few large stones, conjuring a huge round table with a lazy Susan and stone chairs, set up several large pots on it, and hastily added a few more stoves for cooking.

Feeling it was adequate, she finally sent out her location in response to the incessant calls from her employees and opened the transmission permissions.

In the next instant, everyone had arrived.

“Take a seat, take a seat,” Mu Ying said with a guilty smile, “I didn’t have much time, so the table and chairs are a bit rough.”

Everyone glanced at the bustling stoves, ablaze with activity, and laughed: “Lord, the dishes aren’t ready yet, maybe you should take a look at this first!”

Saying that, they lined up to place the documents they were holding onto the table in front of Mu Ying.

Mu Ying looked at the thick stack of documents and couldn’t smile anymore.

Feeling pressured, she picked up a document and began to read, but quickly realized something was amiss; wasn’t this far too trivial?

Looking up, sure enough, some people couldn’t even hold back their laughs.

Mu Ying slammed the documents together with a smack: “How dare you, plotting against your boss like this, have you all turned the world upside down? Are you not afraid I’ll dock your pay?”

“What kind of boss disappears for years without a trace, doesn’t come back even during New Year’s, and doesn’t even check on our work when you do return? How is that reasonable?” retorted the crowd.

Mu Ying was at a loss for words, her mind racing as she started to play the sympathy card: “Do you think I didn’t want to come back? Isn’t it because I want to level up as quickly as possible, so that when the world lockdown is lifted, my strength will be enough to protect our territory? The highlands are so cold, the wilderness so barren—haven’t I suffered for years? Can’t I relax for a couple of days after returning? Besides, even though I’m not often in the territory, Furris keeps me up to date with the monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports; I’m not an irresponsible boss!”

The others couldn’t maintain their stern tone any longer: “We understand your hardship, but with the Transmission Array being so convenient, you still had the heart to stay away for so long without visiting even once. The forums are already calling you the most relaxed lord. Don’t push yourself too hard—focus on cultivation by all means, but you need to live a little too!”

“Got it, got it,” Mu Ying raised her hand and swore, “now that I’m back, I could stay inside the territory for decades, even hundreds of years without leaving the house!”

“...” The others didn’t take it seriously either. Decades, a century? It would be strange if she could stay put that long! But knowing that she wasn’t planning on going out any time soon, they felt relieved.

As long as she was in the territory, they could get in touch with her.

Mu Ying breathed a sigh of relief, having bluffed her way through this ordeal, “Time to eat, time to eat. Let’s talk while we eat!”

The matters that required her to make decisions in the territory weren’t actually that many. Most of the huge stack of documents was just to scare her.

Any changes in the areas they were responsible for would be reported to her through Dingling Flower phone calls, so Mu Ying had a rough idea of what was happening.

In the past few years, every aspect of the territory had been developing steadily. The only significant event was probably the Griffins from Da Ming’s batch starting to take on cargo transportation tasks.

Now the Griffins had become one of Qingshan City’s specialties. In the absence of abundant space equipment, using Griffins for emergency transportation of goods had become a high-quality choice.

Although people could travel long distances via Transmission Arrays, it was too costly for large quantities of goods since the carrying capacity of the Arrays was calculated by volume.

Among the many owned and unowned territories around the globe, the store owners within them were actually part of the Foreign Races that had migrated to Deep Blue Star. The merchandise they brought with them was mostly used up over the years, and they began to look for materials on Deep Blue Star to replenish their stocks.

But transportation was a big issue.

Qingshan City not only had the most Transmission Arrays, but also a widely developed road infrastructure, even including specialized ports and Elf-made cargo ships, and with the addition of Griffin teams, it almost resolved most of the transportation problems for goods.

With the abundant supply of resources in Qingshan City, it became the best place for stocking up on goods.

The primary exports of Qingshan City at the moment were minerals, weapons, and food, with additional items such as clothing, fabrics, and leather materials.

Speaking of minerals and weapons, we must mention the various mining camps and Iron Refining Camps.

Over the years, the mermaids exchanged mineral location points for Contribution Points within the territory. With the Breathing Potion and Fish Tail Potion available, Furris directly took a trip underwater for Mu Ying and opened a number of mining camps, some of which included precious metal mines.

The mined ores, besides being sold, primarily supplied the Iron Refining Camps, which could now produce white quality standard weapons in bulk and also had Forging Masters capable of crafting green quality weapons.

As for food, it was mainly the output from the Breeding Camps and the farming camps, with the Breeding Camps focusing on various meats and the farming camps mainly producing grains, fruits, etc.

Additionally, the food processing research lab overseen by Liu Luoluo had some achievements. The smoked meat, ham, and preserved fruits from Qingshan City were very popular.

“Don’t look at how the forum thinks that the number of people who believe Qingshan City can win in the City-level Territory competition has decreased. We have also been developing our territory well. Now, if you were to say which territory is the richest and most economically developed, it must be Qingshan City!”

Liu Luoluo was very proud, “Even if our Lord is out making advances, we can all maintain the development of the territory. With both money and people, how can their cutthroat discount policies bridge the gap?”

“You all have done very well. Your salaries will be doubled based on the current foundation!” Mu Ying waved her small hand generously.

“Ah? Wasn’t there a raise not long ago? Isn’t this happening a bit too frequently? And doubling it, that’s a bit too much, isn’t it?”

They all knew that their weekly salary for being in charge of a certain area was already 3 silver coins.

While a salary increase was exciting, the territory was also their pride and joy. They didn’t want to risk the financial health of the territory because of higher salaries, especially since their lives were already quite prosperous.

“Yes indeed,” Mu Ying touched her chin, “So how about this, from now on 1% of the annual profit from your respective areas will be your year-end bonus!”
