I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 618 - 601 Lighthouse
Chapter 618: Chapter 601 Lighthouse

But even Atom had broken through to legend within those three years and begun to touch upon Laws, what about Shi Yin?

When the world blockade was lifted, he was already at Level 17.

Mu Ying looked at him, ”Yin, what level are you now?”

”Level 18,” Shi Yin said.

Mu Ying was not surprised by this answer, ”How’s the Path to God going? Have you contacted any Laws yet?”

Shi Yin shook his head.

Mu Ying suddenly remembered that Shi Yin’s level information had never appeared on the global level leaderboard, and even when it came to Trialist spots, he didn’t have one. Not being a Trialist, naturally meant he couldn’t gain Source Power to increase his Contribution.

”Is it because during the arrival of the Doomsday Game, you weren’t on Deep Blue Star, so your ’residence’ isn’t here, making it impossible to increase your Contribution?”

Shi Yin nodded and then shook his head, ”My ’residence’ isn’t here, to be precise. The Time-Space Wolfman’s ’residence’ isn’t on any specific planet; we belong to the Time-Space River. However, to prevent getting lost, we have an anchor in the present world. My anchor is on Deep Blue Star, and this is my anchor.”

He pointed to the silver Wolf Brush ring on Mu Ying’s finger.

Accurately speaking, a bonded mate is the Time-Space Wolfman’s anchor in the Time-Space River. No matter the time, no matter the place, wherever the mate is, it shines brightly like a lighthouse.

Mu Ying looked at the ring on her ring finger, her ears tinged red, ”Cough cough, then how do you access the Laws? How do you ignite the Divine Fire?”

Shi Yin lowered his eyes, ”To access the Laws, one must go into the Time-Space River. The Path to God for a Time-Space Wolfman only involves two types of Laws, the Space-time Law. Combing through the Time-Space River to increase Contribution is a very long process, there’s no rush for now.”

Having the rare opportunity to stay under the same sky as her on Deep Blue Star, he didn’t want to leave as soon as he got back.

”Why not hurry? You Time-Space Wolfmen are only a rare species in the universe, not an endangered one. Even if your numbers are scarce, there are still other Time-Space Wolfmen, aren’t there? If you don’t hurry, will you be able to secure a position in the Law?” Mu Ying said anxiously.

”The Time-Space River is so vast; even the most powerful Wolfman can only control a small tributary. There are countless vacant tributaries; no need to worry about not securing a position,” Shi Yin explained.

”So there are a lot of positions for the Space-time Law? They’re not unique like the positions for other planets’ Laws?”

Seeing him nod, Mu Ying couldn’t help but exclaim, ”You Time-Space Wolfmen are really something. While everyone is fighting for positions in the Law, you have so many options.

This method of achieving godhood feels ancient, where control of the Law isn’t limited by location; it’s not just about igniting the Divine Fire on the Mother Star.

But in that case, the Source Power from the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial is of no use to you, right?”

Shi Yin nodded, ”We Time-Space Wolfmen ourselves cannot become Trialists. The Ten Thousand Worlds Trial itself is a virtual world created by Sage Chen Mian, based on the projection of the Time-Space River. Traveling through the Time-Space River is a bit like your trials in the Trial Worlds; the only difference is entering with the real body, which is more dangerous.

So even though we Time-Space Wolfmen have many Law positions, we can only slowly accumulate Contribution, which is much harder and takes much more time compared to your earning of Source Power, and requires more time.”

Mu Ying understood; this had its advantages and disadvantages.

With no geographic restrictions and numerous positions in the Law, the upper limit of future Divine Power would not be capped. If capable, one could become immensely powerful.

But at the same time, earning Contribution was difficult, unlike them who had clear methods and standards to increase Contribution by backing on the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial.

If she did not have assignable Contribution Points and had to rely solely on her contributions to the corresponding Law to calculate her Contribution, she would not know how much trouble it would take.

And figuring out how to contribute to the Law would require her own exploration, which she was sure would be a headache.

It was hard to say which method was more advantageous.

Even though Shi Yin had no crisis in grabbing a Law position, Mu Ying knew he couldn’t be too complacent. She understood that he was reluctant to leave, but she couldn’t stay with him all the time either, because she needed to seize a position in the Law herself.

”Yin, there are five paths in my Path to God, two First-level Laws and three Second-level Laws. I plan to occupy them all if possible, to lay a solid foundation for igniting the Divine Fire in the future. So there will be a lot more to do when I go into seclusion later,” she said.

”I know, go into seclusion without worries; I’ll guard you!” Shi Yin said.

Though moved by his words, Mu Ying shook her head: ”I’m safe in my territory. When I’m in seclusion, you should also go to the Time-Space River to perceive the Laws. Only when you first possess great Strength can you protect yourself and your loved ones in the future. It’s not time to relax now; we should work and progress together.”

Shi Yin thought of his mother. Indeed, without Strength, one couldn’t protect their loved ones or themselves. But did he have to leave again?

Mu Ying shook the ring on her hand, ”We can contact each other with the ring during this period. After we both finish a Stage of cultivation, we can get together and relax for a few days. Now that there is no blockade, you can come back anytime. When we relax, we can encourage each other, gather Strength, and then enter the next Stage of Cultivation.”

Shi Yin’s eyes softened, ”Okay! Pinky promise!”

Mu Ying burst out laughing. He still remembered the way she taught him to make a promise when they were children!

She hooked his finger, ”Pinky promise, hang me from a tree, not for a hundred years, but for a lifetime, no changes allowed!”

A hundred years was inapplicable to the two of them, who had lifespans of thousands of years.

Afterward, as arranged, Mu Ying and Shi Yin spent two days together.

They drank a Disguise Potion and, just like an ordinary couple, strolled and played in the territory.

They went shopping together, played cards in a tavern, rode on Jumping Rabbit brand bungee rides, and soaked up the sun at Moon Lake in the afternoon.

After two relaxing days, Mu Ying watched Shi Yin enter the teleportation gate.

With the teleportation gate gone, Mu Ying returned to the Tree House in Elf Village, told Gungun and the others, then lay down on the bed and entered the Trial World.

She and Shi Yin had agreed to meet again in six months.

During these six months, Mu Ying was going to use all the 3,600+ hours of Trial Time she had accrued over the past three years.

One reason was to move forward the timeline in the World of Gods, and another was to increase the accumulation of Source Power in the Square World.

It didn’t matter if she didn’t improve her Law Contribution or perceive the Laws for now, but it was crucial to accumulate Source Power as quickly as possible. With enough Source Power, she could not only convert it into something conducive to improving Law Affinity and thus speed up and simplify the perception of Laws, but she could also gain more assignable Contribution Points.

Igniting Divine Fire is actually a competition for Source Power, with Source Power and trials being the most fundamental elements.
