I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 622 - 605: Invitation
Chapter 622: Chapter 605: Invitation

The 1.6 million Source Power was truly well spent; the Eight-colored Fruit was incredibly potent.

She still had over one million unspent Contribution Points, which were just enough for her to increase the Contribution of both the natural laws and the Law of Destiny to 100%.

At this time, she could spend more time increasing her Law Control, first bringing the control of both the natural laws and the Law of Destiny to 100%, reaching the level where she could ignite the Divine Fire at any time, securing a safety net for herself before competing for the remaining laws.

Mu Ying simply adjusted her schedule, then spent 100,000 Contribution Points to increase the Contribution of the natural laws by 10%, and began to perceive the laws.

Previously, improving the control by 30% had taken over three years, but now that her Affinity with the natural laws was already at 99%, she estimated that it wouldn’t take a year for this 10% increase in control.

One month later, Mu Ying, who was deeply immersed in law perception during her slumber, was suddenly awakened by a familiar electronic sound.

[The next Universe Supremacy Contest of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial will be held one year from now, and you have received an invitation to the contest. Please enter the trial on time to compete for Trial positions and Source Power for the Mother Star.]

The Universe Supremacy Contest?

The Universe Supremacy Contest!!!

It took Mu Ying a while to react, was it already time for the Universe Supremacy Contest next year?

She had heard about this event from Furris before, but since Furris was not a trialist, she didn’t know much about it, just that it was held every hundred years, the competition for this century had not been called yet, and the specific timing was uncertain; she hadn’t expected it to come so soon.

Mu Ying opened the trial interface and indeed saw a temporary Trial World entry.

[Temporary · Universe Supremacy Contest] (Not Opened; Countdown One Year)

In one year, she would likely have accumulated sufficient Contribution Points, reaching 1.99 million, to increase the Contribution of all five laws to 100% and focus all her energy on boosting her Law Control.

Furris mentioned that trialists who unlocked the Third Trial World would receive a ticket to the contest, but Mu Ying wondered if other trialists had received news of the event yet.

As of now, the main competitors for Mu Ying’s position in the laws were only trialists like Draco and the others, for only trialists could earn Source Power and increase their Contribution faster.

Although ever since they became legends, everyone had been in seclusion, striving towards the Path to God, their schedules were staggered and they hadn’t discussed the more private strategies of ascension to godhood.

However, based on her understanding of them, those with the capability to compete with her probably didn’t have a significant overlap with her own path to godhood.

Out of the eight trialists, only she, Draco, Vinica, Maz, and Atom had encountered laws and were now Level 19 demigods; if they each chose just one path, they would be the ones most likely to ignite the Divine Fire before her, meaning they could compete with her.

However, the differences in their abilities and Talents were considerable, and the laws they were Affinitive towards were likely different.

As for Li Luoxia, Mu Ying estimated she might still be stuck at the legend stage; the Strength of the Blue Star Priests originally came from gods of other stars, barely related to the laws of this world. Her Priest Profession wouldn’t grant her any Law Affinity bonuses, and even with available Contribution Points, absent other Talents, it was unlikely she had more than 50% Affinity for any law to increase her Contribution.

Edwin had not been seriously training his warrior Profession and was probably still a long way from reaching legend.

Chisima Keiko could be considered the one whose path to godhood most conflicted with Mu Ying’s because she too was a Druid, with both nature and Druid law likely on her path to godhood.

However, with just her initial Perception plus the Attributes gained from leveling up, she barely qualified to become a legend. When Mu Ying had gathered the Druids to earn Experience and level up, Huizi had not participated, falling far behind in level. Among the Druids, her level would have to be ranked beyond the fiftieth; the gap was significant.

It was uncertain whether she had become a legend by now, but even if she had, marshaling enough Contribution for a First-level Law and raising the Control to 100% in a short period was impossible.

If her leveling was fast enough, it was possible she could compete with Mu Ying on the Second-level Law, Druid Law.

With these thoughts, Mu Ying accessed the Territory Internal Network and confirmed that the recent notification wasn’t globally public; related discussions hadn’t emerged on the forum.

She entered the Trialists’ group chat again.

Draco: ”Did you all receive the invitation to the Universe Competition? @All Members”

Edwin: ”What’s that?”

Draco: ”It’s a message that just came in; it woke me from my meditation. A temporary Trial World that opens in a year appeared on the trial interface.”

Edwin: ”Why don’t I have it? (`ヘ ́)=3”

Draco: ”I’m not sure what the criteria for distribution are. Vinica and Atom’s rest areas are quiet; I guess they didn’t receive the message either. Have Li Luoxia, Maz, and Chisima Keiko received it? But since I have it, Mu Ying should have it too!”

Edwin: ”Sigh, you all who are in seclusion are in seclusion, those who are not in the territory are absent, the group chat is too quiet.”

It seemed she was not the only one pulled out from the Law comprehension; Draco had the same experience.

Mu Ying sent a message: ”I have it too. I’ve heard of this Universe Competition. All Trialists from every universe who have opened the Third Trial World are eligible to participate. It’s held once every hundred years, and the results determine the allotment of trial slots and Source Power to the Mother Star for the next century.”

After replying to the message, she made Dingling Flower calls to Li Luoxia, Maz, and Chisima Keiko who were not in Qingshan City to inquire about their situation.

Mu Ying: ”I just made Dingling Flower calls to others; only Li Luoxia’s went through, and she received the invitation too.”

Draco: ”It seems that the three of us are just a bit ahead in the progression of our trials; after becoming a Legend, Li Luoxia seems to have spent a lot of effort in Trial Worlds.”

Edwin: ”The Third Trial World? I’m only five hundred Source Power short of reaching the minimum required to open the Third Trial World. If I unlock it before the competition starts, could I still get an invitation?”

Mu Ying: ”Maybe you could, why don’t you give it a try? If we have one more person, our advantage as the Mother Star would be even greater.”

Edwin: ”I’ll go to the trials right away!”

Mu Ying then chatted a bit more with Draco and made plans to meet up at Tree House No. 888 after seeing the results of Edwin’s trial, to discuss the upcoming competition.

After the chat, Mu Ying didn’t return to Law comprehension but headed to Multiverse City to inquire about news of the competition.

However, in the end, she only acquired some information about the previous Universe Competitions, where each competition had a different Trial World and format.

After sorting through the information, Mu Ying concluded that there was nothing the Universe Competition wouldn’t dare to attempt; even she, who claimed to hail from the same place as the Great Sage Chen Mian, was amazed at many of the past competitions.

Although she was somewhat familiar with the background of some of the competition worlds, benefiting from some informational advantage, many of the worlds were completely foreign to her.

As for the format of the competition, it could almost be described using game types: competitive, leisure, puzzle; they’ve all appeared. The arena could be an open and lifelike world or feature pixel art, even single-player, online multiplayer, or battle royale settings were all possibilities.

The only good news was that regardless of actual strength in reality, everyone started on an even footing in the Universe Competition. The power of the trial characters was set according to the worldview of the competition world, generally being the same for everyone.

Nobody knew what this Universe Competition would be like.

After looking at the information from past competitions, Mu Ying dared not fantasize about standing out amongst the Trialists from so many universes and planets, achieving a top-three result, and meeting the creator of the Ten Thousand Worlds Trial, the Great Sage Chen Mian.

All Mu Ying could do was hope in her heart that this edition of the Universe Competition would be one where she had an informational advantage, a theme that suited her better.

But mere hope was not enough, so she quickly visited Emerald World to improve her Blessing Magic and then returned to the real world to bestow blessings upon herself, hoping the competition this time would be easier for her.
