I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 98 - 98 97 Anti-Fraud Knowledge Mini-Lecture98: Chapter 97: Anti-Fraud Knowledge Mini-Lecture 98: Chapter 97: Anti-Fraud Knowledge Mini-Lecture “This place is far from the center of the human world, where most people are poor, lacking gold coins, and can’t afford the cost of magic potions.

You might selflessly dedicate yourself due to others’ friendliness and praise, but do you think this news won’t spread?

What will become of a kind-hearted witch who is willing to give away the Universal Elixir almost for free?

People might not fear her anymore, but do they truly cherish her?

It’s not the scarcity but the inequality that brings trouble.

A single witch, no matter how talented, how much medicine can she prepare?

What about those who don’t receive any?

What will those who do receive think?

Will they want more?

Could it alarm the human authorities?”

Mu Ying’s string of questions left the witches stunned.

“That’s terrifying; it’s good that your mom ran fast,” Reni said with a flushed face, realizing she had been even less cautious than her younger peers.

“So remember, when you go to the human world next time, either keep your identity a secret or possess enough strength to confront human forces.

Always hold your cards close to your chest, and while trusting others, always have a way out.

Never give away anything for free in your quest for a good reputation.

Those you help may grow demanding.

Be cautious about what you ingest and always keep your magic wand safe from those who might conspire against you...”

Mu Ying wished she could instill in them every method she knew for dealing with situations, especially the senior sisters, who were half a year from becoming adults and would soon venture into the outside world alone, a thought that worried her.

“Ha ha, Mu Ying, I think you sound more like a human, could totally apply for a history teacher position; you explain it better than Lady Melanie,” Lillian laughed.

Margreta smacked her direct junior without much affection, “Pay attention, maybe these words could save your life in the future!”

“Actually, I think Lillian’s suggestion isn’t bad.

Mu Ying, although younger than us, has been independent for longer and has a sharper sense of danger.

These are things we’ve never considered deeply,” Lucia said thoughtfully, already planning to talk with the principal about it.

“Alright, alright, Mu Ying, don’t worry, humans might not know magic, but they can be very dangerous at times.

Most witches have been cheated by outsiders, but only a few have died from it.

After setbacks, they always mature.

Besides, witches are never fearful of death,” Rosie comforted her, noticing Mu Ying’s concerns.

Mu Ying nodded obediently, but not worrying was impossible.

With many opportunities ahead, she planned to seize every chance to teach the witches about fraud detection, ensuring they developed an eye for discerning truth from falsehood.

In the following days, Mu Ying dismissed the idea of continuing to explore the human world.

What she saw and learned in Redberry Village suggested that this world was much like the medieval times of Deep Blue Star.

The nearby large cities were too far, and visiting more villages seemed pointless.

And she suddenly realized that compared to small, low-mobility villages, larger towns were more suitable for witches to conceal themselves, at least not drawing attention simply for being unfamiliar faces.

So, the rest of the vacation turned bland.

The senior sisters went back to their business.

Lillian and Windsor, although still staying with her at night, spent their days scouting locations suitable for establishing a new home, also starting preparations for their new residence.

Only Mu Ying was left to squat at home alone, practicing the magic she had copied before and reviewing the books on potion-making left by her mother.

The week-long holiday passed in a flash, and on the evening of her return to school, the principal summoned her, immediately delivering bad news.

“Another corpse in Redberry Village is indeed a witch, and we have already retrieved the body,”

Melanie rubbed her temples, “Can you tell me in detail what happened in Redberry Village, including your opinion?”

Mu Ying nodded, analyzing the entire situation from her perspective without missing a word.

“You’re very good, few witches understand human nature as well as you do, and you’re still an ungraduated little witch.

Would you be willing to compile these human-handling techniques and, er, anti-fraud tips?

I want to submit them to the Witch Association.

It’s about time to update the human studies textbook.

If it’s adopted, you’ll receive a hefty reward, including a lot of gold coins and valuable magic knowledge,” Melanie blinked, knowing that the little witch in front of her was good at making money and also spent a lot of time in the library every week.

Mu Ying’s eyes sparkled at these words.

Money and magic—who wouldn’t love that?

Even without these, the honor of having her views included in the textbook was enormous, and most importantly, it was genuinely helpful for the witches.

After her time at the school, Mu Ying had completely fallen in love with this group of adorable witches and had no objections to helping them.

Eventually, Mu Ying and the headmistress agreed on a Friday night anti-fraud seminar every week where she would serve as the lecturer, a paid position that earned her 5 gold coins each week.

It wasn’t much, but the class was only once a week and not very long.

Importantly, her senior and classmates all stood to benefit.

Upon leaving the headmistress’s office, Mu Ying saw Senior Lucia waiting outside the door, “How did it go?”

“It was great, ...” Mu Ying rattled off the benefits the headmistress had offered.

Lucia nodded, “That’s good, this way you’ll have a steady income, which is entirely enough for a while after becoming an adult, so you won’t need to spend too much energy on making money anymore.

Do you know what my direct senior told me she regrets the most now?”

“What?” asked Mu Ying.

“She regrets not spending more time in the library reading when she was a student.

The knowledge she learned wasn’t quite sufficient.

After leaving school, it became much harder to acquire knowledge, as it all comes at a cost.

So, since you no longer have the pressure of making money, use your time well, learn more.

It’s okay if you don’t understand some things now; you can first transcribe them into the Witch’s Book.

Although everything copied from the library is under a confidentiality agreement and can’t be leaked, it can still save a lot of money for your future self,” Lucia showed her Witch’s Book, which was thicker than Mu Ying’s by half a finger.

Mu Ying nodded in respect, truly deserving the title of being a constant bookholder and a “high-level VIP resident” of the library, Senior Senior Lucia!

School indeed was their golden period for acquiring knowledge.

Once they’d gained knowledge and capabilities, would making money ever be a worry?

She decided she wanted to be the library’s second “high-level VIP resident”!

Although Lucia didn’t know why her junior was so excited and had a slightly odd expression, she should have taken her words to heart, and Lucia breathed a sigh of relief.

Although she didn’t have a direct junior, it meant that she needed to be extra attentive towards each one.

When it came to talent orientation, she might not have as much experience as each junior’s direct senior, so she could only focus on the broader aspects of life and learning.

Mu Ying was the most composed and mature among her three juniors, but lately, she had been obsessed with making money, spending a lot of time on hair dyeing magic potions and herbal cultivation.

Lucia felt that this was somewhat missing the point.

The basic hair-dyeing magic potion was already sufficient.

Researching more colors, besides being monetarily advantageous, didn’t hold much practical significance, and herbal cultivation was more about personal talent and research, which could be slowly worked out after leaving school without guidance.

Instead, almost no one could invent new magic or magic potions out of thin air, so it was more critical to establish a strong foundation and make use of the library to learn more knowledge.
