I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 65 - 65 64 Witch’s Book65: Chapter 64 Witch’s Book 65: Chapter 64 Witch’s Book “Three little witch misses, did you have a good weekend?” Principal Melanie walked leisurely into the classroom, with a stack of books following her.

Mu Ying and her two friends nodded obediently, having had a blast.

Finally able to study magic, Mu Ying was thrilled, no longer wanting to be attacked by Ghost Fire without knowing how to retaliate; she wondered if witches had any spells similar to Magic Missile.

Principal Melanie summoned the stack of books to the front and one book flew to each of their desks.

So all those books amounted to just three?

Mu Ying marveled at the tome that took up half her desk space, truly worthy of a witch.

You should know their desks were 3×2 large ones, they might have a hard time moving these books to their dorms with just their energy.

Leather covers and metallic edges, even though there was nothing on the cover, the aesthetics were exceptional.

“This book will be your first Magic Item, accompanying you for your life as witches.

Now open to the first page and, with your Quill, write down your true name.

Afterward, you will perceive your Magic Power for the first time with the help of this book, oh, and don’t forget to place a portion of your Broom Grass Seeds and wand materials on the table, try to keep them close to the book,” Lady Melanie, with her long legs crossed, sat in a tall chair on the podium and said slowly.

Mu Ying, upon hearing this, opened the book to find the first page blank.

Thinking that this book seemed like a long-term tool, she first practiced her handwriting on a sheet of Parchment, not wanting to spoil the book with poor handwriting.

To her right, Lillian had already swiftly penned her impressive name in her book.

From her name onward, her book began to glow!

Red light, matching the color of her hair, streamed out from the tip of her pen, filling the entire book with subtle red-flame patterns.

Mu Ying even smelled the scent of burning from Lillian’s desk, and the Broom Grass Seeds and wand materials she had placed there in advance were slightly reddened; she worried they might have been scorched.

To the right, Windsor’s book created much less commotion, though blue light did appear, and small droplets of water formed on her desk; but a little water wasn’t much trouble.

Poor Mu Ying, caught between fire and water, was surrounded by the steam formed from their meeting because of her slower start.

Looking up at Principal Melanie, all she got in return was a schadenfreudic smile.

Mu Ying resigned herself to her fate, no longer caring much about practicing her handwriting; she just wrote it down.

Soon, she too was aglow.

But she didn’t care about the light anymore, she just felt a wonderful sensation spreading throughout her body from her hand holding the pen—like the revival of all things in spring, brimming with life.

Starting from the tip of her pen, the name she wrote blossomed into small flowers, and the metallic edges of the book turned into flowering vines rooting into the pages, spreading to the exact center of the cover to form the four flower-styled characters of “Witch’s Book.”

Even the Broom Grass Seeds on the table quietly sprouted tender green buds, and the wand materials subtly slimmed down, with shallow patterns appearing on them, faintly resembling plants and flowers.

Lillian, the first to finish perceiving her Magic Power, was so envious she almost cried; her Broom Grass Seeds probably weren’t going to survive.

When Mu Ying’s “glow” ended, she looked at the book in front of her, like a small flower garden, and felt it was a bit too much—could one still read such a book?

She quickly flipped through the pages, “Good, only the cover is a bit outrageous, just some extra patterns inside, but it’s still the book!”

“Alright, the appearance of your Witch’s Book is the most typical manifestation of your Magic characteristics.

Remember the feeling just now, try to reproduce this feeling with your wand materials and Broom Grass Seeds.

Infuse them with your Magic Power until the wand materials can no longer absorb Magic Power, and the Broom Grass germinates.”

Principal Melanie said languidly.

“Principal, my seeds won’t get burned, will they?” Lillian asked anxiously.

“Every Red Witch has had similar concerns, but in fact, they have underestimated these seeds,” Principal Melanie said with composure.

“Of course, not every green witch can make the Magic seeds germinate on their first try and complete the initial carving of the wand materials, as our Miss Mu Ying did.

This shows that your Magic Power is very active, and your control is quite good.

“You can go to the greenhouse tonight to find a pot and plant the Broom Grass.

However, you’ll need to perform Magic Infection on it every day until it grows.

Soon you’ll be able to start making your very own flying broom.”

Lillian and Windsor looked enviously at Mu Ying.

“Now, let’s talk about the Witch’s Book,” Principal Melanie interrupted them after they each performed another Magic Infection, though this time their Magic Infections were quite subdued, just enough to encompass a single seed.

“After you write down your true name in the Witch’s Book, it truly binds to you.

Currently, it contains only half of the content, which is what you need to master in your first year at school, including basics of Magic, Alchemy, Magic Potion Study, herbal medicine, and History.

The other half of the blank pages are for you to fill with records of your specialized studies in the future.

If there’s not enough paper, you can add more Parchment, as the book will keep getting thicker.”

“We have just completed our first lesson on Magic Infection under the Magic subject.

To reach the level of your first Magic Infection, you’ll need lots of practice.”

“Magic Infection is the origin of every witch’s abilities and the only spell that can easily be cast without a wand.

Whether you choose to specialize in Alchemy, Magic Potions, or herbal medicine, this spell is essential to master.”

“For instance, the first lesson in Alchemy requires using Magic Infection to prepare the materials for making Magic Wands and flying brooms, as materials not treated with a witch’s Magic Power lack extraordinary properties.”

“Specific methods are recorded in the Witch’s Book, but I suggest that unless you are quite confident, you should wait until you’ve learned in class.

Every year, there are witches who can’t return home during the Summer Month holidays because their brooms aren’t ready.”

“Before you make your own Magic Wand, let’s start with herbal medicine and History lessons.”

“Introductory herbal medicine merely requires you to use your brain to memorize the herbal charts in the book.

The first-year curriculum is mainly to understand these herbs.

As for cultivation or planting, you’ll need to research that on your own, as there are very few plants like Broom Grass that every witch can successfully cultivate.”

“Often green witches have a Talent for cultivating herbs, though occasionally other witches also manage to grow legendary plants, like the famous Fireworks Tree, developed by a Red Witch.”

“As for History, this is a subject we introduced from the human world in the past century, including studies of continent history, human behavior, and methods to disguise oneself as a human to help you understand this world and knowledge about other Races living here.”

“Now, open up to the first page of herbal medicine.

Today, we’ll quickly introduce the first ten herbs...”

Mu Ying listened intently and jotted down notes with her Quill alongside the illustrations of the herbs.

Many identification tips and market prices described by the principal were not in the book.

Lily wasn’t very interested in this; Mu Ying noticed she was looking at how to cultivate Broom Grass.

She probably still had some concerns about her seeds.

“Alright, that’s it for today’s lesson.

You can shrink your Witch’s Book and carry it as you like, whether as a pendant or necklace, both are excellent choices.

“By the way, never try to process more than one set of Broom Grass Seeds or wand materials at the same time.

As to why, you can ask your dear upperclassmen after class, or try it for yourself.

I’m sure it will leave you with interesting memories.”

Not sure what she recalled, but Principal Melanie left the classroom with an exceedingly buoyant laugh.
