I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 54 - 54 53 Enhanced Attributes54: Chapter 53 Enhanced Attributes 54: Chapter 53 Enhanced Attributes After exhausting her mana value in the official squad’s tree house, Mu Ying took the opportunity to visit the Mercenary Guild.

“Kelly, I want to create a task.”

“Okay, please follow me.”

Kelly led her to a room on the side of the hall, where there was also a task compass.

“This is the task creation compass.

It works the same as the one outside; just insert your identity card to operate.”

Mu Ying nodded, she knew how to handle this.

After inserting her identity card, a task creation interface appeared in front of her, and she began to enter the task information in order.

[Task Name: Monster Atlas]

[Client: Anonymous]

[Personnel Restrictions: None]

[Task Requirements: Spend one copper coin]

[Time Limit: None]

[Task Reward: Information on any one monster from the atlas]

After filling in the task information, an option for the task publication range popped up.

To her surprise, Mu Ying found that a task could not only be published within this branch but also be synchronized to other territories’ Mercenary Guilds for an additional processing fee.

Without hesitation, she chose to publish it synchronously.

After all, her commission was just putting on the guise of a task, which didn’t involve the transfer of items, and the extra money spent was insignificant.

By scanning the Monster Atlas into the task platform, those who accepted the task could pay to view the information on monsters, and she just needed to collect the money from the Mercenary Guild periodically.

Although there was no protection for the sale of such information and she couldn’t stop players from sharing it privately, it was still possible to make some money.

For Mu Ying, the money was like picking it up off the ground, and she could also get a Monster Atlas for free.

Thinking about the future income, she felt much less frustrated by today’s chase with the goblins.

Since monsters had appeared, the risk of going outdoors had increased a lot, impacting her quite a bit as she needed to go outside to plant trees or experience professional cultivation with plants—the plantation’s small plot of land was not enough for her needs.

It seemed she needed to build the sub-camp as soon as possible.

According to the territory’s daily income, it would take a maximum of ninety days to save enough money.

Before that, she must eliminate the group of goblins by the river.

After eating something simple at the diner, Mu Ying returned to the tree house to reflect.

She seriously reviewed today’s combat process and felt there were many areas where she could do better.

She was a bit sluggish in picking up the drops, and her vigilance was insufficient, failing to discover the goblin squad in advance.

Later, when escaping, because she hadn’t cast Divine Movement Technique on herself in advance, her attempt to cast the spell while running failed due to her unstable mindset, thus she didn’t manage to shake off the goblins’ pursuit immediately.

This indicated that she hadn’t mastered some of the first-circle spells she had learned and had significant issues in their application.

The Druid profession’s characteristics, coupled with her high perception talent, made her cultivation much smoother than others, which was good.

But on the other hand, it also meant she had fewer real combat opportunities and lacked combat experience.

After understanding the problems, she earnestly went through her learned spells again.

The next morning, she went out again, this time casting Divine Movement Technique and Tree Skin Skill on herself from the outset.

The duration of these two spells was quite long, serving as a defense and escape safeguard for herself.

Perhaps due to yesterday’s ambush, the goblins had changed their location for cutting trees today, and their number had doubled.

Six were cutting and processing trees, and another six were transporting, but the speed of cutting was similar to yesterday.

The tool in her hand was even more clumsy than the ones those goblins had yesterday, and her mind didn’t seem to be on the work either, glancing around four or five times within ten minutes, appearing somewhat paranoid.

It seems that well-equipped goblins are the minority, these goblins are even poorer than she thought.

Mu Ying had also specifically asked the Sparrow family to help keep an eye on the surroundings and only made her move after confirming there were no other goblins nearby.

She still started with the Thunder Wave, followed by the Cloud Mist Technique combined with the entanglement technique, but this time there were 6 goblins, and the distance between them wasn’t very close, she only managed to ensnare 4 of them.

However, this time she directly used the Jumping Technique to leap in front of the ensnared goblins.

The two goblins who were lucky enough to escape the entanglement hadn’t recovered from the shock of the Thunder Wave when three of them met their end.

She had thought that they would charge at her bravely, and Mu Ying was ready to use the Jumping Technique to keep her distance at any moment, but unexpectedly, those two goblins had no intention of exploring the condition of their companions in the mist.

As soon as they regained consciousness, they screamed and fled.

“...”

There indeed is a difference between goblins and goblins!

These few goblins were like the difference between irregular troops and elite forces compared to the ones that chased her yesterday.

Mu Ying slightly mocked, then quickly finished off the last ensnared goblin, gathered the goblin bodies directly into her Storage Pouch, and ran back towards her territory without looking back.

Leaving behind only the Sparrow family and the birds they introduced to watch for goblin movements nearby for her.

Faced with a large number of goblins, she planned to carry out guerrilla tactics, gradually reducing the number of goblins.

Over the next few days, she spent a few hours each day ambushing a group of goblins going out, picking only the easy targets.

A legend gradually emerged among the goblins.

It said that there was a mist in the forest that ate goblins, which could make goblins dizzy, lose their way, and not even leave a corpse behind, and this mist particularly favoured those who chopped trees.

Goblins willing to go out and chop trees became fewer and fewer.

The defensive works that had just begun were ultimately rushed and incomplete, they preferred to go hunting in the forest or ambush humans rather than be eaten by the mist.

If Mu Ying could understand the goblin language, she would undoubtedly mock the goblins’ imagination that didn’t match their courage.

The disappearance of the bodies was, of course, because she took them away.

After all, she was currently saving up, and the bodies of goblins could be converted into a small amount of energy and also made cleaning the battlefield quick.

So when she couldn’t find any goblins going out to chop trees after a long search that day, she simply thought they had been scared off by the killings.

Having engaged with goblins so many times, she had come to profoundly understand the goblins’ cowardice.

As long as she took the upper hand from the start and caused effective casualties, the goblins would definitely not stand their ground but would only wish they could run faster.

“Forget it, help me find where that hunting party of goblins is,” Mu Ying told the Sparrow Mother.

Her combat ability had improved significantly, and even without the help of Magic Control, with just a spear enhanced with the Oak Stick Technique, she could go back and forth with two or three goblins.

And she had mastered the Flame Saber, and also newly learned a 2nd-level spell “Enhanced attribute.” The elite goblin squad she initially encountered, who could only run, now probably wouldn’t have a chance against her.

Enhanced attribute was the most difficult spell she had learned so far, with equally compelling effects, as it could temporarily boost a certain attribute.

It has six forms: Bear’s Tenacity for enhanced constitution, Bull’s Strength for enhanced strength, Cat’s Grace for enhanced agility, Fox’s Cunning for enhanced intelligence, Owl’s Wisdom for enhanced perception and Eagle’s Majesty for enhanced charm.

The enhancement of strength, constitution, and agility is a temporary boost to physical fitness, while enhancing intelligence, perception, and charm, the Spell Casting Attributes, may not reflect on the Mana Value but instead significantly amplify the effect of spellcasting.

Currently, Mu Ying could use Bear’s Tenacity, Bull’s Strength, Cat’s Grace, and Owl’s Wisdom.

This spell, like the Tree Skin Skill and Divine Movement Technique, has a duration of 1 hour per level.

Which means she could maintain it for 3 hours with a single casting.
