I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 63 - 63 62 Mushroom Man’s Colony63: Chapter 62 Mushroom Man’s Colony 63: Chapter 62 Mushroom Man’s Colony This time, Mu Ying walked at the front of the team, with a Little Mushroom Man sitting in her palm pointing the way, nodding his mushroom head occasionally.

A certain petty-minded werewolf, taking advantage of being unseen by others, gently poked the Little Mushroom Man’s mushroom head, behaving mischievously.

Fortunately, the Little Mushroom Man hadn’t noticed anything amiss; from telepathy, only his grumbling about his mushroom head feeling heavier was transmitted.

Annoyed, Mu Ying quietly picked up Shi Yin and tucked him into her robe’s pocket with one hand going in to poke around, to see if he would still bully the innocent Little Mushroom Man.

The mushroom race could communicate only through telepathy, and their entire race shared thoughts constantly; thus, unlike Mu Ying, they couldn’t control their own thoughts, which allowed her to hear many secretive matters, including information about the origins of instances and beyond their world.

Perhaps in the world of mushroom folks, privacy was non-existent, so there was no such thing as a breach of confidentiality, which skirted around the rules of the Doomsday Game.

They had split off from a branch of mushroom folks from a place called the dark territory due to population overflow.

Apart from the elders leading over a hundred adult Mushroom Men, other juvenile mushroom folks were cultivated using reproductive spores not long after arriving in this world.

As for the method of their arrival, it seemed that after submitting some sort of relocation request, they were transferred to this space fragment and then packed off to this planet.

Once the space took root in the Main World, the Law would become more refined, gradually merging with the Main World, eventually belonging wholly to this world.

And some of the lower-level Mushroom Men could actually go out through the Light Gate.

But not knowing the situation outside and worried about being sunburnt, they just assigned some mushroom youthlings to stand guard at the entrance.

Upon learning the true nature of this so-called instance, Mu Ying was very surprised—the instance turned out to be a space fragment that was packed and sent to Deep Blue Star, accompanied by various migrating species.

The integration of a space fragment into a planet would trigger the evolution of the Main World, increasing its density and area, which, from a macroscopic perspective, was actually beneficial.

But Mu Ying could tell offhand that not all the species that migrated here were as friendly as the Mushroom Men, such as the red dragons in the Dragon Nest Replica of Neon.

For humans, such an invasion of creatures could indeed be termed as Doomsday.

With that thought, Mu Ying’s expression grew strange.

Deep Blue Star was supposed to have no indigenous intelligent species other than humans, right?

Then from her parents, which one with the Elf bloodline came from where?

And Shi Yin, the Time-Space Wolfman who needed to visit other dimensions for his inheritance—more magical than her, a Half-Elf—how could he be here?

At that moment, a ludicrous yet plausible idea suddenly popped into her mind.

Could they both be invasive species like the Mushroom Men?

Just that they arrived earlier?

All these jumbled guesses distracted her so much that she hardly noticed the various magical plants along the way and found herself unknowingly passing through the nocturnal tree forest by following a narrow path.

It was not until she saw the enormous Mushroom Forest and the vast expanse of mushrooms ahead that she realized she had arrived at the fungal colony of the Mushroom Men.

The Mushroom Forest was filled with moist, glowing moss, and the large and small mushroom houses were the homes of the Mushroom Men.

The sturdy mushroom stems were decorated with frames and small windows smeared with beautiful fluorescent powder.

Occasionally, one could see juvenile mushroom folks peeking curiously from within their mushroom houses.

They were timid and shy, furiously discussing through Telepathy Ability, and Mu Ying could hear them clearly within their “group”.

Of course, the most eye-catching was the giant spore slave in front of her.

The Mushroom Man’s lethality was mainly manifested in the magical spores it released and the giant corpses controlled by these spores.

Like a small mountain, its entire body covered with these spores, its original appearance was indiscernible.

The Mushroom Man on the back of the Spore Slave was the same Mushroom Man Elder Mu Ying had communicated with telepathically before; he was also the king of this Mushroom Man colony.

“Please come up, I have prepared a delicious mushroom feast for you.”

Several people climbed onto this giant Spore Slave, which then began walking deeper into the Mushroom Forest.

“Mu Ying, can you talk to the Elder and maybe add me to the group too?”

Lu You was very curious, eager to know what these Mushroom Men talked about, but unfortunately, the little Mushroom Man guiding them was too timid and avoided them as much as possible.

The Mushroom Man Elder released several spores to pull them into the group.

However, Mu Ying noticed that, although they were now in the group and were eager to gain the Mushroom Men’s friendship, they showed no reaction to her conversation with the Mushroom Man Elder.

“Little girl, don’t worry, we Mushroom Men keep no secrets from our real friends, but we also protect every friend’s secret; what they hear is very limited,” the Mushroom Man Elder’s voice came.

Mu Ying was relieved, considering their conversation was somewhat sensitive.

Although the Mushroom Man Race had some means to protect themselves, they were actually not skilled in combat; they peaked at level 4 and were more keen on growing mushrooms underground.

Thus, they were very eager to befriend the natives of Deep Blue Star and farm peacefully.

For plant life, her rich natural power and her half-Elf bloodline made the Mushroom Men feel close to her.

Moreover, she had been kind to a young Mushroom Man who had bumped into her previously, so the Mushroom Man Elder was inquiring about this world from her and hoped to move to an Elf Village or a location frequented by Druids to seek some shelter.

“Move?

You can still relocate?

It seems like I heard that the replica, or what you call space, has been planted already; can it still be moved?”

Mu Ying was struck by a thought—these Mushroom Men who could grow various kinds of mushrooms were treasures!

“Yes, but it requires a native creature carrying the Space Core to move the space entirely, and it must be resettled within a day, there’s only one chance; you are a Druid, and also have Elf bloodline, you’re the most suitable person for this.”

“Would you mind settling in my territory?”

Mu Ying’s breath became heavier.

The population in the territory had already stabilized, making her wonder if these Mushroom Men counted as residents, not to mention their numbers were massive!

With their skill in mushroom farming, making money would be easy, and she wasn’t afraid they wouldn’t be able to pay up.

“Territory?

You’re a Lord?” the Mushroom Man Elder’s voice quivered.

“Yes, the territory has a protective shield; no form of fighting is allowed inside.

Although it’s currently only village-level, it’s still much safer than other places.

However, residents need to pay 5 copper coins daily to stay within the territory, which also contributes to the development of the territory.

The mushrooms you grow should sell well, and your ability is impressive; after establishing contact, we might even transmit images—there’s something in our world called a cinema...”

Mu Ying, fearing they might be put off by the rent, eagerly filled them in on various ways to make money.

Although many people still faced significant survival pressures and might be reluctant to spend on entertainment, the shop owners in the territory were wealthy.

The Mushroom Man Elder nodded repeatedly, “We volunteers for relocation, before coming out, our tribe helped us obtain quite an allowance from the Evolution Center!

We’ll move, we’ll move right away!”

He was so excited that spores flew all over him.

Mu Ying felt as though she had just heard something incredible.
