I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 64 - 64 63 Guiding Fire64: Chapter 63: Guiding Fire 64: Chapter 63: Guiding Fire “You enjoy living underground, but I need to go back and dig a deeper burrow to prevent exposure to the surface when the dungeon space merges,” Mu Ying halted the Mushroom Man Elder who was eager to start relocating immediately.

After scheduling the relocation time, Mu Ying casually visited the Mushroom Man village.

The mushroom feast was truly an eye-opener for her.

Even though it was a mishmash of mushrooms, the taste of meaty mushrooms, fruity mushrooms, and juicy mushrooms was magical; it wasn’t monotonous at all, and it made her want to grow mushrooms too.

Indeed, bringing the cute and capable Mushroom Men back to her territory was the right decision.

“Who would have thought this instance would be inhabited by a group of cute Mushroom Men?

I thought there would be a big battle,” Lu You remarked.

“But their mushrooms are really delicious!”

As he spoke, he lovingly patted the several packages of mushrooms he purchased from the Mushroom Men that contained both edible and poisonous varieties.

“Speaking of which, I wonder if Neon Country’s plight might be due to them tampering with the red dragon’s treasure.

After all, dragons are known to be greedy.”

The ease of their journey made people question the dangerous reputation of the dungeon.

“That might be only one of the reasons.

To such giant creatures, we humans might be no more than ants.

Would you befriend an ant?

This time, we might have just been lucky,” Huo Shaobai mentioned not revealing that without Mu Ying first gaining the trust of the Mushroom Men, their journey might not have been so smooth.

Initially, the Mushroom Men were avoiding them at all cost.

Even after they managed to establish telepathic communication, the naive mushroom youngsters were fine, but the adult Mushroom Men and their Elders still kept their guard up.

Mu Ying could be said to be the biggest beneficiary of this trip.

Her territory would soon have a group of cute Mushroom Men!

Just thinking about these adorable, luminous mushroom heads running around her territory at night made her heart melt.

When they exited the dungeon, it was already dark.

“My God, what is that?”

They hadn’t gone far when they saw a blue-hued light floating in the dark forest ahead, which flickered and turned warm yellow under their gaze like a beautiful little lantern.

“Let’s take a detour,” Huo Shaobai suggested.

It’s not wise to linger in the wild at night, and it’s better not to mess with something this eerie.

Who knows what new monsters have appeared in this world.

The group adjusted their route.

But the orb of light seemed unwilling to let them go and appeared ahead of them, flickering on and off.

“It seems like it wants us to follow it.

Could it be signaling something?”

Haviing made friends with the Mushroom Men today, Lu You felt it was better to assume good intentions in others’ actions; maybe it could turn into friendship?

Besides, the light was so warm it might just be trying to illuminate their path.

Listening to this, Mu Ying was struck by a thought and quickly grasped him, “I just remembered, it’s Ghost Fire, a level 2 monster.

Wasn’t it first spotted at the battle site from the day before yesterday?

Weren’t there several goblin corpses there?”

She had seen it in the Monster Atlas; although unsure if it harbored ill intentions, she dared not trust it easily.

This was different from the Mushroom Men, who were inherently weak, and whose telepathic goodwill couldn’t be faked.

“Ah?

Ghost Fire?

That doesn’t sound good!” Lu You said sheepishly.

“It’s only level 2; we should be able to handle it.

Let’s not detour but head directly toward our territory.

If it blocks our way, we’ll kill it,” Huo Shaobai decided firmly.

They maintained their battle formation as they moved forward.

The Ghost Fire flashed again in front of them, seemingly trying to light their way, appearing to harbor no malice.

But after a few minutes of walking, Mu Ying suddenly felt something was off.

When she left the cave entrance, it was night, and it was hard to determine directions in the forest, so she used the North Pointing Skill to identify the direction.

Now, the Ghost Fire seemed to be shifting direction unnoticeably; in the darkness, the group of warm lights ahead unknowingly led them astray.

Had Mu Ying not been uneasy just now and checked again with the North Pointing Skill, she would not have noticed.

She immediately made everyone stop, “The direction is wrong!”

Seeing them stop, the Ghost Fire swayed, urging them to move forward.

Mu Ying directly pulled her bow and aimed, the Energy Arrow formed on the string and shot out with a whoosh.

The Ghost Fire did not expect her to attack suddenly and was hit squarely; its body visibly shrank and turned red like a cannonball as it shot towards them.

It moved extremely quickly and reached them in the blink of an eye.

Lu You, standing in front and swinging his saber, chopped at its body, but it was unaffected and passed around the blocking Lu You, charging straight at Mu Ying.

There was no time for another arrow.

Mu Ying staggered from the impact.

She realized pure physical attacks didn’t work on this bundle of flames; other Flame Sabers and the like, being fire attacks, were also ineffective, and entanglement techniques couldn’t cope with this intangible object.

For a moment, she was caught in a dilemma and could only use the Jumping Technique to widen the distance then shoot.

Fortunately, the others quickly responded by changing their attack methods, and the Magic Missile from the Jie Gong had the most significant effect, hitting it right away due to being close.

The Ghost Fire, probably knowing it was outmatched, vanished after a few flickers.

“Seems we can’t judge an enemy’s combat strength solely by level!”

Mu Ying remarked, feeling a bit complacent herself; she had not anticipated encountering an energy entity immune to physical attacks, and moreover, one so fast.

Fortunately, the Ghost Fire’s attack power was not strong; the hit she took only cost her a few energy points because she was protected by the Tree Skin Skill.

It was unclear where it intended to lead them.

The group hurried their pace back to the territory, still shaken, and only then did they relax.

Mu Ying and the others parted at the Tree House, and she climbed back to her own little home.

The first thing she did upon returning was to quietly dig out a small stone chamber beneath the territory.

This wasn’t difficult for her, as everything in the territory was under her control; she just needed to find the right spot and then transform the surrounding rock and soil into building materials collected in the territory slot.

The entire territory was filled with trees, except for the seed store area, which had fewer trees.

Mu Ying simply let the Mushroom Men accompany the seed store.

She created a square stone chamber about ten meters away from the seed store underground, then tunneled a passage to the surface and reinforced the tunnel with the stone she had just transformed, covering the surface area with a large stone slab.

She planned to move the Mushroom Man Dungeon over the next day, but she did not intend to open it immediately.

The Mushroom Man Elders also had some external preparations to make, planning to plant a few mushroom houses at the dungeon entrance to serve as shops.

That way, the likelihood of Huo Shaobai and others suspecting the dungeon relocation was connected to her was even smaller.

For now, from the surface, the area still had lush Asparagus growing, with half a meter of soil beneath it, making it very safe.

She also didn’t need to worry about how to get into the cave; she just needed to use the Transmission Array again.

The Transmission Array could not only transport between the territory and the Sub-camp but also within the territory itself, although no one had been so extravagant to spend money for just a few minutes’ journey.
