I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 91 - 91 90 Return to Territory91: Chapter 90: Return to Territory 91: Chapter 90: Return to Territory All things considered, these items were likely to be of little use to Mu Ying, who decided to consult with Grandpa Shom after returning to the territory, especially concerning the still-living piece of tree root.

By now, her goals for this trip had been completely achieved, and it was time to head back.

When she had set out, Mu Ying rode her broom alone, reaching her destination in an hour or two.

On the return journey, Mu Ying glanced behind her at the six adult wolves and eight wolf cubs, each looking at her expectantly.

Ever since Da Hui and the others realized that Shi Yin wouldn’t be returning anytime soon, they’d decided to follow Mu Ying home.

“Awooo!” Let’s go!

Mu Ying led the way, with four adult wolves on either side, Da Hui and Aqing bringing up the rear, and the wolf cubs in the middle.

As they moved through the forest, they would periodically stop to use their keen sense of smell and hearing to identify directions and the creatures around them.

If they encountered any troublesome large beasts, they carefully skirted around them, and when they came across herds of herbivores, they would catch some to satisfy their hunger.

Wolves can endure hunger well, with one Feeding sustaining their energy for a long time.

Thus, Mu Ying and her companions didn’t need to hunt very often.

Standing downwind once more, Mu Ying sniffed the air, her wolf’s face all wrinkled up.

“Awo?” This foul smell, like someone who hasn’t bathed in ages, seems so familiar.

When have I smelled it before?

As she reflected on her memories of scents, her eyes suddenly lit up, “Goblins!”

Initially, when she had first encountered goblins, Mu Ying had looked down on them for their poverty.

Not only did they have little money, but their equipment was also tattered.

However, after those goblins had run away, and she encountered ghouls and Withered Monsters, which were not only tough but also penniless, the impoverished goblins suddenly seemed quite adorable.

Unfortunately, she had no idea where they had run off to.

Mu Ying signaled for the hunt and cautiously followed the scent.

They eventually arrived outside a cavern.

The cavern’s entrance was large, enclosed by sharpened wooden stakes with only an entrance about two meters wide.

There were two lookout platforms by the entrance with two goblin archers dozing on them.

Since the cavern dipped downward, it was difficult to see inside, but the strong stench suggested that there were quite a few goblins inside.

Having the wolf cubs with them, it wasn’t advisable to engage directly.

Mu Ying’s eyes lit up with an idea.

Such a cavern should be perfect for a rolling fireball, right?

She directed the wolves to a safe location, then reverted to her human form, donned the Tree Skin Skill, and climbed a tree close to the cave.

A massive Blazing Flame Fireball appeared at the entrance to the goblin camp, igniting the lookout platforms and charging straight into the cave, wreaking havoc as though it intended to turn the place upside down.

“Chirp, gurgle, rattle, kaboom!”

The high-pitched voices of the goblins rose, sounding like a colony of ants that had been disturbed, creating total chaos.

Mu Ying took the opportunity to roughly count the number of goblins, about twenty or so, a bit more than the group she had encountered by the river previously.

Among them was a familiar face, the goblin leader wearing half-body armor studded with Gemstone Fragments and a gold whistle hanging on his chest.

It seemed this group of goblins was indeed the same one she had seen before.

Though the Blazing Flame Fireball had caused a mess in the camp that the goblins had painstakingly built, and the lookout platforms were burned down, the casualties were not significant.

After shooting the two goblin archers who fell from the lookout towers with her bow and arrow, revealing her position, Mu Ying felt secure without any concerns from behind.

Cloud Mist Technique for cover, entanglement technique for binding,

and the area damage from Light of Moonlight.

Mu Ying jumped down from the tree, put away her bow and arrow, switched to a long sword and short sword, and signaled the Wolf Pack to prepare for an all-out attack when she realized the goblins were shivering, clutching their heads.

Only the goblin leader was alert enough to struggle free from the Vines and started to run away.

“Gibberish gibberish gibberish!” Oh Great Lord of Mist!

Please spare your pitiful and weak servant!

“Since when did my spell have the effect of spiritual shock?”

Although Mu Ying could not understand what the goblin was yelling, the trembling tone unmistakably signaled their fear.

Though Mu Ying was puzzled, her hands did not slow down; regardless of what tricks they were up to, it was best to kill them first.

The addition of the Wolf Pack sped up Mu Ying’s hunting pace.

A few minutes later, the fog cleared, leaving only goblin corpses scattered on the ground.

Unfortunately, the goblin leader had escaped.

Though the gear on it seemed quite valuable, Mu Ying did not pursue.

It was hard to say whether she hoped that, after some time, the goblin leader would gather another group of goblins.

This time the goblins were caught off guard and their lair was destroyed, leaving all their possessions behind.

Apart from the small amount of coins and various pieces of equipment carried by the goblins, Mu Ying also found a small box in the depths of the cave.

Upon opening it, she was greeted by the gleam of money.

A quick count revealed nine Gold Coins, seventy-two silver coins, and ninety-eight copper coins.

Mu Ying accepted the goblins’ treasure with glee.

The next afternoon, they finally reached the vicinity of their territory, and Mu Ying’s Storage Pouch now contained many more plant seeds and raw meat.

“Shh!

It’s the Wolf Pack!” The mountain climbing club squad, hurrying their prey to the territory, spotted traces of the Wolf Pack and held their breath to a stop.

They had just been through a battle and were not in good shape, making an encounter with the Wolf Pack very dangerous.

“Could the blood scent from the meat in our hands have attracted them?

Otherwise, let’s give up some meat and see if we can save our lives!”

“No worries, we’re very close to the territory now, and there are quite a few young wolves in the pack, so they probably won’t run very fast.

If they really are coming for us, we’ll just run straight into the territory!”

“Phew!

Good thing they’re not after us.”

The Wolf Pack did not approach any closer and ran right past them.

“That leading White Wolf is so beautiful, its fur must be worth quite a bit!”

“I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but I felt like that white wolf just glanced at me,” Liu Luoluo watched the retreating figures of the wolfs, “Are they heading to our territory in that direction?”

“Haha, Luoluo, what are you thinking about?

If the Wolf Pack were to run to our territory, wouldn’t they be skinned by people?” Cheng Wei playfully scolded.

“All right, let’s hurry back too, to avoid any complications,” Si Qing said.

Mu Ying led the Wolf Pack straight into the camp.

“The wolves are coming!”

“Are you being childish?”

“Hey, who’s joking with you?

There really are wolves coming, they’ve entered the territory, one of them with snow-white fur and eyes like emeralds, it’s especially pretty!

Look, over there!”

“Such a fine creature, this wolf, I’ll go ask the copper coin pawnshop owner if the wolf’s pelt is worth anything... cough cough!”

The voice of the man came to an abrupt halt, as he swallowed the last word and nervously hid behind his companions.

He wouldn’t dare to even think about targeting that wolf.

Who would have thought that in the blink of an eye, such a creature would transform into that terrifying woman?

Better not to provoke her!

Mu Ying deliberately transformed back into her human form in front of everyone to make it clear to the people of the territory that this pack of wolves was under her protection.
