I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 82 - 82 81 The Formation of the Magic Wand82: Chapter 81: The Formation of the Magic Wand 82: Chapter 81: The Formation of the Magic Wand The tail-end of the market usually happens in the last hour, when witches who don’t want to bring back unsold goods will sell them at a low price, making it a must-visit for impoverished students.

If it rains, the tail-end at Hat Mountain takes place in the first cave encountered after entering, but on a sunny day, it’s at the foot of the mountain.

As the rain stopped after midnight, today’s tail-end market should be at the foot of the mountain.

On the way, they encountered many witches heading downhill too.

“Burp~”

“Burp~”

The identical burping sounds made two stranger witches glance at each other, recognizing the familiar cups in each other’s hands, they shared a knowing smile.

“Witch’s Happy Water, it truly brings joy!”

Mu Ying kept her head down, dragging Senior Sister quietly past, subtly picking up the pace.

She wanted to say that this was Happy Water, not Fool’s Water, ah!

Why did they need to burp so loudly on purpose?

She would never admit it was her fault!

It must be their innate foolish genes showing themselves.

“Mu Ying, why are you running?

It seems your Happy Water is quite popular!

But what’s with the burping?

Is it some new custom?” Senior Sister Rosie cheerfully said, oblivious to Mu Ying’s embarrassment.

In a soft voice, Mu Ying explained the whole story and was rewarded with Senior Sister’s merciless laughter.

The market of the Summer Month was already low in spirits, and even more so at the tail-end, with not many stalls and mostly daily necessities from the human world and various other items.

These were exactly what Mu Ying and her friends needed.

Preparing for a new residence meant starting from scratch with pots, pans, and the like.

Mu Ying inherited her mother’s wooden house, which reduced the burden significantly, buying only two dresses and two plain robes for herself.

The dresses were in the style commonly worn by civilian girls from the human world, and the robes were a popular choice among witches.

Apart from school uniforms, she only had very old clothes that had gotten too small before she even started school.

Although she spent most of her time at school and the uniforms were sufficient, with a holiday coming up a week after the Four Seasons Market, it didn’t seem appropriate to run errands in a school uniform after leaving school.

The few outfits she bought were for the holidays, totaling only two Gold Coins, leaving her with over thirty Gold Coins in savings.

Seeing Mu Ying’s bulging coin purse, Lillian, who had worked hard in the back mountains for so long and earned only two Gold Coins, had tears of envy trickling from the corner of her mouth, “Is it too late for me to learn Cooking Magic now?”

“With our baked bread always tasting slightly burnt, it’s impossible to make money with Cooking Magic,” Margreta offered a comforting pat on her direct junior’s head, “Don’t dream of a fancy dwelling for now.

I suggest you find a good cave to spend the holiday in, save some money for necessities, and get through the adult ceremony.

Later, when you go to the human world, you can think of a way.”

Lillian felt encouraged, realizing she wasn’t the only one struggling, and her mood suddenly improved a lot.

As the sun rose and the night faded away, the tail-end market came to an end.

Regardless of what they had acquired, Mu Ying and the others had to prepare to head back.

Lady Melanie appeared at the right time, gathering them together to maintain the formation from the way there and fly back to school.

Compared to the rough journey there, the return trip was much more pleasant.

Even without sleep, bathed in the sunrise, they felt incredibly spirited.

......

In the real world, the Plantation.

The Broom Grass Mu Ying had planted two weeks ago had finally matured.

Though the Recovery Spring hadn’t missed a day, this Broom Grass wasn’t much different from the one in the Emerald World, just slightly taller and a little darker in color.

Having had the experience of making a broom once before, she was now more skilled—selecting branches, straightening them, binding them tightly, checking, and carving her own Magic Mark.

She patted the broom handle, which was completely immovable, showing no reaction, as if to say it was just an ordinary broom.

“..., stop playing it cool; get ready for the test flight!”

Mu Ying said wordlessly, after the unique Magic Mark was engraved, she became one with the broom, understanding its emotions effortlessly.

The miniature Shi Yin also flew over and hugged the broom handle, imitating Mu Ying as she patted it.

The broom couldn’t help but shake him off, jumping to Mu Ying’s side, and began to hover.

The sudden movement of the broom startled the mini Shi Yin, causing his eyes to widen.

Mu Ying took Shi Yin by the collar, tucked him into her pocket, and then straddled the broom, slowly ascending.

Mini Shi Yin popped his head out of her pocket, his mouth forming an O shape.

After flying low around the Plantation, Mu Ying discovered that despite its slightly quirky temperament, this broom was faster than the one in Emerald World, and she wondered if it was because of the effect of Recovery Spring.

With this flying broom, she could go to other places now.

Mu Ying thought of many things in that moment, but daytime wasn’t a good time for flying, as it was too easy to be seen, even with a disguise, and she needed to prepare more.

Luckily, the wand materials had also taken shape today, and she felt the increasingly distinct texture of the wand material.

The wand material was similar to that from Emerald World, with the same floral pattern.

After engraving the exclusive Magic Mark, she would also have the Magic Wand.

She took out a tree vine seed that she had prepared beforehand from her Storage Pouch and tossed it.

A wave of her Magic Wand, a green light shot from the wand tip to the seed.

The seed went through an accelerated growth and within seconds had turned into a vine as thick as a finger.

Under Mu Ying’s direction, it wrapped several coils around Yuan Gungun before running out of energy.

The skill level was comparable to that in Trial World.

While her newly learned Plant Magic was nowhere near as effective as the entanglement technique and still required seeds as Spell Casting Materials, it had much greater potential for improvement and didn’t deplete Mana Value.

Of course, more than this, Plant Magic had a greater role in cultivating plants.

If Magic Infection was the disorderly alteration of materials, then Plant Magic was the orderly influence on plants.

With enough practice, it could even create Magic Plants.

Mu Ying had already selected suitable seeds for cultivating entangling vines, intending to recreate this Magic Plant in the real world.

Growing plants would bring nature’s gifts, so there must be rewards for creating plants too, right?

Judging by Grandpa Shom’s enthusiasm for researching plants, this would definitely be beneficial and harmless for a Druid’s practice.

Of course, besides Plant Magic, other magics, though rudimentary, had their small uses.

For example, the still imperfect Shrinking Magic, when combined with the Storage Pouch, could save even more space.

Then there was Life Magic; although it had healing effects similar to Healing Truth, the principle was entirely different.

Even in a poisoned state, Life Magic could replenish Life Force and temporarily sustain life.

As for curse and blessing magic, Mu Ying glanced at Yuan Gungun rolling around in the Iron Bamboo Forest and blinked, “I curse Gungun with misfortune.”

A little bird flew by, suddenly felt an urge, and wiggled its bottom.

“Plop~” A white viscous substance fell onto Gungun’s head.

???

!!!

Gungun covered his head.

Mu Ying coughed lightly, then waved her Magic Wand, and the inexplicable substance was swept to the ground.

Her Curse Magic, although invariably effective, was only capable of such small pranks for now.

As for Blessing Magic, she often used it on herself while cultivating the entangling vines, and it ended in success.

Although she was unsure how much Blessing Magic had contributed to the outcome, Lady Melanie assured her that her Blessing Magic had indeed worked.

Because when using Blessing Magic on herself, if it failed, it would backfire with bad luck instead.
