I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 79 - 79 78 Pancakes and Soy Milk79: Chapter 78 Pancakes and Soy Milk 79: Chapter 78 Pancakes and Soy Milk The sunlight filtered through the white gauze curtains, lazily resting its hand on her quilt.

The broom in the corner hopped over and tapped the bed.

Mu Ying woke up at the sound, gently stroked the broomstick to calm it, then got up and went into the bathroom to wash up and change into her spring school uniform.

She was always the first to wake up.

Ever since she had mastered Cooking Magic and set out to capture the witches’ hearts with the delicious dishes she had enjoyed in two lifetimes, she had taken on the primary role in the kitchen.

The senior sisters had also consciously started delegating various tasks to the younger ones, knowing that in a year’s time, it would be their responsibility to take care of newcomers and pass these tasks on to them.

Mu Ying’s Cooking Magic was now so well-practiced that she only needed to stand near the dining table and could manipulate all kinds of kitchenware with her magic powers effortlessly.

When making familiar dishes, she could even multitask and do other things at the same time.

Free from the tedious chores and avoiding the nearby greasy fumes, cooking had become a pleasure.

“Mu Ying, that smells amazing.

Are you making my favorite egg pancakes today?”

Without turning her head, Mu Ying replied, “And your least favorite soy milk too!

Be mindful of your image, your hair is so fluffy it could be a flying broom!”

Lillian, who usually got up a bit later, always came out second on mornings when there were egg pancakes, wearing her pajamas, awakened by the scent of the pancakes.

“Ah, the dreadful soy milk!” Lillian instantly slumped, and her messy, exploded red hair seemed to soften a bit.

Mu Ying lifted the corners of her mouth, always feeling better hearing Lillian complain.

Ha ha!

When the pancakes in the pan were slightly crispy and the fragrance of green onions filled the air, Mu Ying waved her magic wand, and the plates in the cupboard lined up to jump out, catching the neatly stacked pancakes from the pan, followed by a tea egg, and finally landed neatly on the dining table.

Next came a pot of soy milk.

As the doors of the rooms opened one by one, the senior sisters and classmates came out, and the soy milk pot hopped around pouring steaming soy milk into everyone’s cups, except for Lillian’s spot, where Mu Ying personally handed her a cup of hot milk.

Lillian frowned as she sipped it, then her eyebrows relaxed, “It’s not soy milk!

Mu Ying, I love you so much!”

Mu Ying shrugged her shoulders, “I still like soy milk better though.”

“Long live soy milk!” Windsor whispered quietly.

“Ah, it seems that every Red Witch can’t escape being targeted,” Senior Sister Margreta clutched her chest with a pained expression.

Suddenly, three pairs of eyes glared over, and Margreta silently sat up straight, “The soy milk is really tasty!”

“Ha ha!” Mu Ying and her friends laughed, delighting in the misfortune.

What a pleasant morning it was!

After breakfast, the senior sisters went to attend to their respective duties while Mu Ying and her friends went downstairs to their class.

Now the history and herbal medicine classes were nearly complete, and to delve into more advanced topics, they had to search for materials in the library themselves.

The focus of the classes had shifted to magic, alchemy, and Magic Potions.

Just over a month into the classes, the distinct talents of the three of them began to show.

Mu Ying was considered the most well-rounded among them, but in alchemy class, she was basically like a baby with limp limbs, unable to smoothly draw any Magic Marks except her exclusive ones, no matter how detailed Lady Melanie’s explanations were.

Lillian wasn’t much better; she could barely draw an effective single Magic Mark, but always failed to successfully connect them.

Only Windsor had some talent in this area.

Although she was slow to learn, with the other two completely clueless, Lady Melanie slowed down the pace of teaching, and she finally managed to learn some basic Magic Marks.

If Windsor’s talent points were in alchemy, then Lillian’s talents were entirely vested in flying and combat magic.

Apart from her inherent affinity for flame magic, she learned the basic combat spells of other attributes the fastest, and her powers were the greatest.

Senior Sister Margreta had already begun teaching her how to hunt in the back hills.

After all, it seemed that was the only way she could earn money.

Mu Ying was recognized by her senior sisters as the witch from this term with the best financial prospects.

Like Senior Sister Rosie, she had a talent for magic potions and herbal medicine, and she wasn’t bad in spellcasting either.

Although she couldn’t compete with Lillian in combat magic, she was talented in plant, life, curse, and blessing magic.

She learned these types of magic more easily than others did, and the effects were better.

Magic, compared to fixed spells, was more flexible and its effects were not set.

Even with the same initial education, each person would end up taking entirely different directions based on their tendencies and research.

For instance, one basic effect of plant magic was making plant seeds grow quickly.

When influenced by the entanglement technique, the same vine seeds were first used by Mu Ying to tie up things aggressively, though the magic power was still too weak to compare with the entanglement technique’s strength.

However, when used by Senior Sister Rosie, the vines were more orderly, quickly weaving into a dense tree wall.

It was said this was because she wanted to use this magic to enclose and protect her chosen dwelling after she grew up.

Mu Ying had consulted Senior Sister Rosie about the specifics of casting this vine tree wall spell, feeling that the fence around her wooden house offered no protection at all.

Instead, the sister felt that Mu Ying’s vines had a stronger binding characteristic that could serve a proactive defense role, and she suggested that she should try to stabilize this feature of the vine binding.

After casting plant magic, the plant seeds and the magic effect would persist for a while before disappearing.

The duration of this effect was determined by the strength of the magic power and control power.

Powerful witches could maintain the magic effect until the end of their lives after casting a spell.

Mu Ying could now maintain it for just over a dozen seconds.

Rosie had extended the duration by combining her knowledge of herbal cultivation and magic potions, and she suggested that Mu Ying could also explore this direction.

The help from a senior sister with the same talent orientation was immense, and Mu Ying had bypassed many potential setbacks because of her.

She successfully used plant magic combined with knowledge of herbal medicine to cultivate a type of binding vine magic plant.

This was also her main product prepared for the Four Seasons Market, and judging by the popularity of these vines among her seniors, there should be a market for it.

“Alright, that’s all for today’s lesson.

Tomorrow night is the night of the full moon.

You all know about the Four Seasons Market, right?”

Mu Ying and the others nodded excitedly, “We know!”

“A witch’s first pot of gold, ah, how nostalgic,” Lady Melanie said softly.

“The impoverished witch often sees the first hints of their future at their first market night.”

“Gather in front of the Tower after dark tomorrow night.”

Watching Lady Melanie disappear outside the door, Lillian propped her head and sighed, “I always feel like Lady Melanie glanced at me when she mentioned being impoverished.”

“...” Mu Ying didn’t know how to comfort her because it really wasn’t an illusion.

Among those witches focused solely on fighting, nine out of ten were among the poorest, and maybe the last one might get rich by robbing humans.

All she could do was pat her head.

Even the poorest witch wouldn’t seek relief from peers, but it merely meant living a tougher life, not starving to death.
