I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 107 - 107 106 Blood Crow107: Chapter 106: Blood Crow 107: Chapter 106: Blood Crow Having spent the morning at the Spirit Dragon Gorge Camp, Mu Ying had roughly figured out the situation here.

In the Spirit Dragon Gorge area, the majority of monsters that descended last time were goblins, who had already established a sizable tribe in the small forest to the west, occasionally attacking humans who ventured there.

Some teams with decent strength would also go there to hunt scattered goblin squads, while those who weren’t strong enough simply avoided that forest.

Beyond that, behind the Spirit Dragon Gorge, lay a dungeon.

Every few days, Blood Crows would fly out from it, attacking the camp.

While the attack power of a single Blood Crow wasn’t strong, the lethality of a flock was extraordinary, and their bones could be sold for money; they were both the greatest danger and the biggest source of income around the camp.

Therefore, bows and arrows sold especially well in this territory.

As long as you could hide inside the camp when the Blood Crows came, you could safely shoot them down with arrows and make money.

However, no one dared to explore the Blood Crow Replica anymore.

When the dungeon was first discovered, quite a few people had entered, but none returned, an even worse outcome than with the Dragon Nest Replica in Neon Country.

After hearing about this dungeon, Mu Ying planned to go check out the back side of the Spirit Dragon Gorge that afternoon.

The dungeon’s location was very conspicuous; the entrance was on a high cliff, complete with rope ladders hanging down, presumably used by those who had entered before.

The ladders were covered with a thin layer of dust, indicating that indeed no one had gone in for some time, and scattered black feathers could be seen around the area.

The feathers carried a stench of decay and a strong smell of blood.

Mu Ying had no plans to enter; she was well aware of her limits.

The few replicas she had encountered each had the potential to trap a person inside upon entry.

The poison in the Mushroom Man Dungeon, the cramped environment and number of monsters in the Ghoul Replica, and the Blood Crow Replica also had its own dangerous features.

The Blood Crow Replica might be even more dangerous; once inside, the Replica gate would be right behind you.

What kind of danger could prevent people from even escaping once they had entered?

Mu Ying felt she wasn’t strong enough yet, and even a flock of Blood Crows would be very dangerous to her.

A moment of carelessness could cost her life.

She had always been cautious before, and now that she had become an Elf and a green witch, her lifespan had greatly increased, giving her even more reason to play it safe.

Having confirmed and executed her consistently cautious approach, she turned without looking back and walked away.

She had mostly finished scouting the Spirit Dragon Gorge Camp, and the route for the new road had been chosen.

All that was left was for the stone to arrive; a road connecting the two places could be built in no time.

She needed to rush back that evening to review the resumes submitted, select a good Quarrying Supervisor, and start construction early.

“Flap flap!”

While pondering her next steps, Mu Ying turned around in alarm, only to see a swarm of something dark squeezing out from the Replica gate.

With the way they were squeezing out, no wonder so many feathers had fallen below the cliff.

Hadn’t they said the Blood Crows had just come out two days ago, and the chance of them coming out again so soon was slim?

Mu Ying quickly cast a spell on herself, transforming into an inconspicuous shrub.

She was thankful she had never slackened in her spell learning.

Had she not learned the Tree Transformation Technique two days prior, she would have been in great trouble today.

This 2nd-level spell was placed quite late in her spell learning sequence because once she used this spell to turn into a tree, shrub, or similar plant, her agility would drop to zero, making movement impossible.

Although it added some defense value, not being able to run or attack, and only being useful as a disguise, made it seem impractical even for gathering intelligence.

Mu Ying had previously thought that when facing danger, it was best to run if possible, and transforming into a tree on the spot wouldn’t be very helpful, so she hadn’t paid much attention to the Tree Transformation Technique.

Now, she had to admit, there were no useless spells.

She was at a distance from the Replica gate, and there were trees for cover, making this spell a perfect disguise.

Otherwise, she would have had to use all the spells that could increase her speed and then transform into Wolf Form and make a mad dash for it.

Of course, the chances of outrunning that flock of Crows were slim, even using a flying broom wouldn’t be too safe.

Mu Ying, transformed into a bush, was still full of active thoughts.

Sure enough, the Blood Crows didn’t notice her.

From the perspective of the bush, her vision was 360 degrees.

She saw the Blood Crows flying towards Spirit Dragon Gorge Camp.

The camp wasn’t far away either, so Mu Ying didn’t dare to undo the spell immediately.

She behaved as a proper little bush, inconspicuous amidst her fellow shrubbery.

Mu Sheng was truly bored.

Aside from wandering thoughts, she could do nothing else.

After more than three hours, she even counted how many leaves she had “grown” on her body.

The “away-from-home” Blood Crows finally returned before the Tree Transformation Technique wore off.

The number had diminished a bit, but they still crammed into the Replica gate in a swarm.

Not until they all had disappeared inside the gate did Mu Ying cancel the spell.

Although her body didn’t feel the discomfort of having been standing as a bush for so long, she still stretched her limbs out of habit.

The air still carried a faint bloody scent, consistent with the smell of the black feathers from before.

She hadn’t had the chance to use Biological Recognition to examine the Blood Crows’ details, but these Blood Crows had vacant eyes, disheveled feathers, were bloody all over, and there was even a rancid stench—they didn’t seem to be living creatures.

Most crucially, under the Eye of Nature, there wasn’t a trace of natural power on the Blood Crows.

Instead, they were enveloped in a black aura, a kind of creature despised by nature.

The air through which the Blood Crows had passed still carried a faint trace of this black aura.

If it wasn’t for that, she might have overlooked it, given that the flock of Blood Crows was too dense and naturally black in color.

She rushed back to Spirit Dragon Gorge Camp.

The ground was covered with Blood Crow corpses, and people were busy dividing up the loot.

“Ah, what a pity, the Blood Crows have gotten wise too, knowing not to ram their heads against the camp protective shield anymore.

Who knows what they went north for?”

Upon hearing this person’s comment, Mu Ying stopped him and asked, “How long did the Blood Crows linger around the camp?”

“About half an hour, I guess.”

Half an hour?

So where did the Blood Crows go for the remaining two hours?

Mu Ying was also puzzled.

To the north, they wouldn’t be going to trouble the goblin tribe, would they?

Clearly, she wasn’t the only one guessing this.

Some people had already picked up their share of Blood Crow corpses and were calling their buddies to go check out the small forest in the north.

Mu Ying left the camp, cast Cat’s Grace to enhance her agility Attributes, and with the Divine Movement Technique, she leapt forward.

The white Wolf Form reappeared, nimbly weaving through the grass and trees, running northwards.

“She just turned into a wolf, didn’t she?”

“You saw it correctly!”

“Tsk, the top rank on the leaderboard is well-deserved, that speed...”

In Wolf Form, passive skills like Forest Traversing and Traceless Step were still active.

In places abundant with plants, she moved unobstructedly, and it didn’t take long before she found the place.

This small forest had clearly received special attention from the Blood Crows, with blood stains and animal carcasses scattered throughout the woodland.

But the most intense battle must have taken place at the goblin tribe.

This tribe was much more prosperous than the one she had encountered before.

There were two layers of spiked wooden fences and quite a few huts.

But now, the tribe was full of corpses of Blood Crows and goblins mixed together, with several people frantically searching for the goblins’ effects.

Going by the joy on their faces, they must have found quite a haul.
