I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 120 - 120 119 Gem Tree120: Chapter 119 Gem Tree 120: Chapter 119 Gem Tree He looked over at the small mound of dirt next to him, where a delicate sapling had emerged from the soil.

Its stem was a translucent green, only as tall as two knuckles, topped with two tiny leaves the size of rice grains.

Mu Ying used Biological Recognition to probe its information.

“Unnamed, a new type of plant that sprouted by chance from the purified root of the Gantiya Demon Tree under the dual influence of a natural baptism and Mu Ying’s magic power, capable of promoting the birth of spiritual creatures.”

Spiritual creatures were something Mu Ying had only seen mentioned in the description of the Natural Protection skill; she had no specific knowledge of what they were.

Since this plant had no name, Mu Ying thought for a moment — its texture was more like gemstone than plant matter, so she named it Gem Tree.

[You have cultivated a new type of plant “Gem Tree.” This plant is stable in nature, with birth greatly dependent on chance, and can only survive with the combined nourishment of natural power and your magic.

It is a special, rare plant.

You gained 1000 Professional Experience.]

“...”

Mu Ying’s breathing grew heavier, her hand trembling as she opened the attribute panel.

[Profession: Druid Level 5 (1000/1500)]

(Note: A maximum of 10% Slaughter Experience can be used at this level.)

“!”

Who would have thought that by simply moving a spot during leveling up, she would receive such a huge surprise?

Players who were keeping an eye on the forum rankings had just called their companions to look at the rankings, noting that Mu Ying had leveled up again, the first level 5 player had emerged.

And then, within minutes, Mu Ying’s progress shot up significantly.

[Player Rankings]

[No.1 Mu Ying (Druid Level 5 67%)]

[No.2 Li Luoxia (Priest Level 4 2%)]

[No.3 Zhan Qing (Wanderer Level 4 1%)]

[No.4 Huo Shaobai (Warrior Level 4 1%)]

[No.5 Miao Guowei (Warrior Level 4 0%)]

...

The news had also spread on the forum.

A hot post quickly rose to the top.

“Digging into how the top boss on the ranking list went from 0% to 67% within 5 minutes of leveling up.”

Original poster: “I can’t dig it out, you guys guess ㄟ(▔,▔)ㄏ”

1st floor: “The OP is scamming people, luring them in for a slaughter, those who follow better run!”

2nd floor: “She’s surpassed the second place by a level and a half in one go, too terrifying!”

3rd floor: “Good thing she’s not first on the battle rankings or else us guys would be overshadowed by a woman.”

4th floor: “I love being overshadowed, I heard the miss is quite a looker.”

5th floor: “What are you guys talking about, I don’t understand.

Isn’t the top ranker still not leveled up?

4th-level warrior at 87%, no change!”

6th floor: “Oh snap, no need for data on the forum, yet you manage to be without internet, shocking...”

7th floor: “Just a kind passerby...

The leaderboard is regional, and only the forum is connected worldwide, so we are probably not looking at the same leaderboard.

But man, your region’s top ranker is seriously lagging, haha.”

8th floor: “That’s too harsh, dude.

Druids aren’t like warriors who can only gain Professional Experience by increasing their Skill proficiency.

They can level up just by nurturing flowers and planting trees.

What’s the point of comparing?

No matter how high their level, their combat power is still trash.”

9th floor: “As someone from Qingshan Village, I can’t help but smile mysteriously.

How could you trolls possibly get the sheer awesomeness of Boss Mu!”

10th floor: “Hoe to the head, long spear in the eye, an arrow through the tongue, get acquainted.

Oh, and don’t forget I’m serving up Short and Long Swords...”

The players from Qingshan Territory are also proud, relieved that they haven’t harbored any ill intentions, otherwise they might have had their heads blown off.

Mu Ying, however, hadn’t noticed the stir she had caused both on the forum and in her territory.

She was looking at the Gem Tree sapling with a loving face.

The name really wasn’t a misnomer; it brought her so much Experience all at once, as precious as a gem indeed!

Feeling happy, Mu Ying poured half of today’s Recovery Spring water on this little guy and nurtured it thoroughly with Magic Infection.

Finally, looking at the somewhat hastily made little mound of soil, Mu Ying took out some wooden sticks and carefully shaped them into a wooden fence with the Shaping Wood Skill to protect the Gem Tree sapling.

It deserved to be the most precious plant in Mu Ying Plantation and well-protected.

The joy of cultivating a gemstone flower was too good not to share.

Just like how new moms love to show off their babies, Mu Ying also wanted to brag a bit.

She remembered her first visit to Grandpa Shom’s Plantation, being dragged around the whole place, forced to listen to his few hours of bragging until her head spun.

“Hehe!” Mu Ying came up with an idea and couldn’t help but giggle.

She called over a bird in the orchard and, using animal conversation, sent it to find Wuyaya with a message, asking it and Grandpa Shom to join her for a picnic in the Plantation at noon.

Mu Ying took out a picnic cloth and spread it not far from the Gem Tree sapling.

With a wave of her Magic Wand, her Cooking Magic was unleashed magnificently.

Fruits plucked from the trees leaped into the water balls Mu Ying formed, washing themselves clean, some being juiced, others peeled, mint candies neatly piled together, edible mushrooms gifted by Mushroom Man jumped into the pot filled with spring water, while prime steaks sizzled invitingly on a hot stone.

“That smells delicious, what tasty food has the little girl made?” Shom arrived as promised.

“Seeing you wave that little Wooden Stick and the food cooks itself, I’m actually a bit envious!”

“Haha, it is quite convenient,” laughed Mu Ying.

She didn’t take Grandpa Shom’s words seriously.

He could make seeds open the soil and plant themselves.

Even without knowing Cooking Magic, he could achieve a similar effect through other means.

And according to Wuyaya, Grandpa Shom loved vegetarian dishes and usually filled up on fruits.

“I want meat!” Wuyaya flew next to the steak and called out.

Mu Ying nodded in agreement.

Meanwhile, Grandpa Shom who had just sat down, took one bite of his fruit and then stopped, staring intensely at the sapling fenced off by Mu Ying.

“Is this...

a Gem Tree?

Nice name, magic and natural blessing?

A rare plant?

Spiritual creatures?

Mu Girl, aren’t you going to give me a grand introduction?”

Mu Ying, who had been watching him, couldn’t help but curve her lips in amusement.

Ah, such effortless showing off felt fantastic.

“This was cultivated from the root of a Gantiya Magic Tree.

Despite being nurtured with Magic Power, it hadn’t sprouted until I stayed beside it during my recent level up, and it reaped some benefits then.”

Shom stroked his beard, his face full of admiration.

“You’re indeed most suited to be a Druid.

Nature really takes a liking to you in this world!”

“If you put it that way, nature really does take good care of me,” said Mu Ying, looking around at the free-floating natural power.

“By the way, what are spiritual creatures?”

“Spiritual creatures, well, there are many types.

Flowers, grass, trees, stones, water flows, etc., all can give birth to spiritual creatures.

Some people call them little goblins, little elves; they are born only from the essence of all things, a very cute type of miniature creature, especially beloved by nature,” explained Shom, truly envious this time.

Which Druid wouldn’t want little fairies to help manage their Plantation?

“If it weren’t for the fact that this Gem Tree is connected to your aura and the spiritual creatures born under its influence naturally attach to you, I would really like to borrow this Gem Tree to stay in my Plantation for a while.”
