I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 117 - 117 116 Ao Ao Ao117: Chapter 116: Ao Ao Ao 117: Chapter 116: Ao Ao Ao What’s going on?

Mu Ying had just been calculating her own tangible strengths, thinking about the enjoyable face-slapping moment when someone came to bother her, and then this happened?

She didn’t know whether to be happy about her popularity or mourn the loss of her fight scene that got cut so abruptly.

In the end, she could only raise her head high, open her mouth wide, and with a deep breath from her diaphragm, “Awoo~”

She was now grateful she had shifted into her wolf form beforehand; otherwise, it would have been tough to howl loud enough to disrupt everyone’s cheering without dying of embarrassment.

“Wow, the Lord’s wolf form is so cool!”

“She’s responding to us, right?

That gaze is spot on!”

“She must be touched, so many of us support her!”

...

Mu Ying herself didn’t know the meaning behind her howl, and neither did the wolf pack.

Such a howl didn’t actually mean anything in the language of wolves; they generally only do this when facing the full moon, similar to humans shouting into a valley to vent.

The wolf pack was well-acquainted with this activity and immediately joined in.

The adult wolves: “Awoo!”

The wolf pups: “Aw-aw!”

The gamers fell silent for a moment before someone let out a soft, tentative: “Awoo?”

Then all the gamers abandoned their humanity, each trying to outdo the others with the loudest howl.

Mu Ying tilted her head in confusion.

What was this?

She blankly observed for a while, and it seemed like nobody had the intention of stopping yet.

Jiu San, who was eagerly joining in with the howling among the gamers, made Mu Ying want to ask if he’d settled his stuff yet.

Was he out here to have fun already?

And those shopkeepers who made horn shapes with their hands on the aerial paths.

Even the Mushroom Man youngsters with hands on hips, mouth wide open in a silent howl.

Mu Ying, unfortunately, received a communication spore from a Little Mushroom Man and felt both her body and spirit suffer immense damage.

Seeing Shi Yin turned into his wolf form, proudly arching his head and pretending to howl, Mu Ying irritably pressed him down with a paw.

If you can’t speak, what’s the fuss about?

Magic Wand Shi Yin wriggled his body and turned his belly up, looking at her expectantly.

I told you to shut up, not to rub your belly, okay?

Mu Ying felt near tears, carefully retracting her claws and lightly scratched with her paw.

Everyone in the territory had gone mad and she was helpless.

Their throats were beyond help, but her ears might still be saved—she decisively chose to teleport.

Mu Ying lay on the grass in the Plantation, listlessly poking Xiao Shiyin’s belly, reflecting on why things had turned out like this.

She considered herself a very serious Lord, and her territory followed a natural, fresh style.

How did such a bunch of nutcase residents get mixed in?

She selectively forgot that she was the one who started the first howl, and eventually blamed it on that soft little “Awoo” from the player side at the beginning.

After a long while, Yuan Gungun teleported to the Plantation with its tongue hanging out.

Mu Ying shifted back to human form and used the Water Creation Skill to condense a big Water Ball for it to drink, “Is your throat on fire?

You’re a panda, what are you doing howling like a wolf?”

“Glug~ Glug~ Glug~”

Yuan Gungun sucked dry three Water Balls, and its belly swelled up.

“Ah~ Ah~” It opened its mouth wide, pointing to its throat with a chubby paw, its voice hoarse.

Mu Ying: “...”

“Did you really shout until your throat was hoarse?”

Gungun nodded its head.

Mu Ying cast a Healing Truth on it, “How do you feel?”

“Ah, ah!”

It seemed to be of no use.

The Healing Truth could restore the life value of the injured, heal external wounds, stop bleeding, and heal wounds, but overusing one’s voice resulting in hoarseness couldn’t really be considered an injury.

“Sigh!” Mu Ying grabbed and rubbed the soft fur on its head a few times, then took a large basket into the dark and headed towards the mint field.

The variant mint was flourishing unusually, with a single leaf having the size of two adult palms put together.

Its type of effect hadn’t changed; it had just become more than twice as powerful.

To put it plainly: it had gotten bigger and stronger.

She had planted a lot of it, thinking about making tea.

Upon looking again, she saw that the sugar cane was also ripe.

The sugar cane was a variant too, not only was the juice extremely high in sugar content, but its fibers were also like spun sugar.

That is to say, once you peeled off the skin and boiled away the water, it was all sugar.

Let’s make mint candy!

Mu Ying prepared the ingredients, took out her magic wand, and readied her cooking magic.

Suddenly, the needed kitchen utensils sprang into action, washing, peeling, and more.

After a flurry of activity, Mu Ying looked at the small mountain of pale green mint candies on the dining table, “I might have made a bit too much?”

After thinking for a while, Mu Ying took out a stack of wax paper and waved her magic wand again.

The wax paper lined up and jumped in front of the scissors, getting cut into small square pieces.

The small pieces of paper fluttered onto the pile of candy, wrapped around a piece of mint, rolled and folded, and one wrapped mint candy was complete.

She packed the candy for Gungun and the wolf pack into Gungun’s carry-basket, letting it take them back to the tree house to share with the pack.

Mu Ying transported the remaining candy to Tree House number 101.

This was an unmodified, original version of a tree house where a long counter desk divided the interior into two parts, with a shelf for goods placed behind the counter.

“Professor Du, I made too much mint candy, let’s use it as a gift for tomorrow’s opening,” Mu Ying put the candy on the counter.

Professor Du, who had been writing something on a wooden board, looked up and smiled at her, “Great!”

Mu Ying’s ears twitched, she heard only a faint breathy sound: “...”

She never would have guessed that even an advanced intellectual of Professor Du’s age had his moments of being ‘Chunibyo’.

“You can try it yourself,” Mu Ying thought for a moment, then added, “If Professor Su needs some, you can grab a handful for him to take back too.”

This store was a Territory Specialty Store, expected to open tomorrow, temporarily managed by Professor Du.

She could later pick an assistant clerk to help.

The variety of goods was not extensive, and the daily supply was limited, but they had the advantage of being inexpensive.

Any permanent residents of the territory could buy ordinary specialties at a more favorable price here.

If there were ordinary specialties, then naturally, there were also special specialties.

The former was a favorable treatment for the territory’s residents, and the latter were the real signature products meant to establish the brand.

Ordinary specialties mainly included common vegetables and fruits from Mu Ying Plantation that couldn’t all be consumed, along with meats, furs, and trimmings produced at the Breeding Camp’s pastures.

There was a limited quantity of ordinary specialties available at favorable prices, but they implemented purchase limits, available only to residents of the territory.

Special specialties were available for purchase by anyone, without restrictions on quantity, mainly for external profit-making.

The current special specialties on the shelves included only binding vine seeds and a variety of hair dyeing magic potions, with the cheapest brown hair dyeing magic potion priced at one silver coin.

Currently, the variety and quantity of goods in the specialty store were limited, and it was only open for business for two hours a day.

All things considered, this store was there to sell excess produce from the territory and her own research results.

Perhaps the ordinary specialties were more attractive for now, but in the future, the special specialties would undoubtedly become the banner of the territory.
