I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 123 - 123 122 Encircling the Ghoul123: Chapter 122: Encircling the Ghoul 123: Chapter 122: Encircling the Ghoul The scope of enhancement was broad, yet each change was minor.

There were not many changes to skill descriptions and equipment information, but there was indeed an improvement.

For example, the amplification of recovery in the Professional Skill “Natural Recovery” increased slightly, the “Eye of Nature” observed the natural power more keenly, the “Recovery Spring” changed from a large bowl daily to a small basin daily, and the “Feedback Claw” could extract a bit more each day.

The people behind her only saw her kill a ghoul, then stood there dazed for a little while before snapping back to reality.

“It’s okay now, the ghouls can’t get in; we’ll think of a solution tomorrow!”

Mu Ying told Old Mao and the others.

“Okay, all right,” Old Mao nodded.

The next day, the weather cleared up.

Everyone planning to leave the territory, as they passed the Territory Notice Board and looked there out of habit, were attracted by the new notice posted on the board.

“Notice

Ghouls have appeared again, estimated to be around level 3.

We are now gathering residents willing to participate in exterminating the ghouls.

Meet here this evening.

Caution: Do not linger outdoors when it gets dark, to avoid being besieged by ghouls.

Mu Ying.”

“The ghouls are finally out?”

“There’s money to be made again!”

“I’ll go ask about the prices for level 3 ghoul’s tongues and nails.”

“Level 3 ghouls, huh, one person can’t handle them alone; I won’t go out today, we’ll see in the evening.”

These were the original residents of the territory, who had participated in and profited greatly from a previous ghoul extermination without any casualties, so instead of worry, they were excited and not the least bit concerned.

But the newcomers from Yuanling Dragon Gorge were somewhat puzzled.

Although they had heard about a ghoul replica from the graveyard that hadn’t produced anything, they didn’t understand why the people in this territory were so eager for ghouls to appear.

Blood Crows could also be sold for money, but they also didn’t hope for Blood Crows to appear frequently since one never knows when they might be blocked outside the camp by a sky full of Blood Crows, a situation that would definitely be unbearable.

“Are ghouls easy to kill?” a newcomer, unaware of the facts, asked in confusion.

The person beside him looked at him strangely, “Of course, they aren’t easy to kill.

Any of our teams encountering a ghoul in the wild wouldn’t be able to beat it; we’d just have to run, and that’s even with the level 1 and 2 ghouls we used to face, so everyone is planning not to go out today, just rest up and wait for the evening.”

“Then why are you all so happy?” the questioner felt even more puzzled.

“See who left this notice?

It’s Mu Ying.

With her here, she could disable the most troublesome tongue of a ghoul with a single shot, and a ghoul without its tongue is like a tiger without teeth – with a bit of coordination between the teams, it could still be subdued; that’s how we did it last time.”

“...”

No wonder!

It’s really enviable to have such backing like the early residents of Qingshan Territory, but now they are their backing as well.

As evening approached, it gradually became lively near the territory’s main gate; everyone had filled their bellies early, planning to follow Mu Ying for a big fight tonight.

Everyone was well-prepared with damp cloths, long-handled weapons, and such.

Since they had experience from before, they followed the old rule, cooperating under the Qingshan Alliance’s name, and the distribution of income remained the same as before.

Each team would hold off one or several ghouls according to their level, Mu Ying would look for an opportunity to disable the most dangerous tongues of the ghouls, and each team would keep what they killed, with Mu Ying taking two-tenths.

In fact, Mu Ying had leveled up not long ago and still had some Slaughter Experience left.

Although the proportion of Slaughter Experience had dropped again, only 10%, converting it meant about 150 points of Slaughter Experience could be used at level 5.

She had recently earned a lot of Professional Experience from cultivating a gemstone tree and was only 500 Experience points away from leveling up, but she needed a lot of time to master her new Tier 3 Spells and Professional Skills, so she was not in a hurry to level up.

Therefore, she was willing to give the Slaughter Experience from the ghoul’s heads to others.

She always felt that the ghouls had emerged possibly because she had leveled up, making the instance’s restrictions looser; roughly calculated, those about 2 levels lower than her could now emerge.

However, it was unclear if this was only the case with the Ghoul Replica.

If all instances were like this, the restrictions of the instances were likely determined by the highest level on the player’s side.

Although the level leaderboard was just regional, many messages from the forums proved that other regions seemed to have no one leveling up faster than her.

She now had no intention of using these ghouls to test her strength, just wanting to quickly eliminate this threat around the territory for a stable environment to continue studying her Spells, especially since she hadn’t even reached normal Spell Casting standards with her Summoning Lightning Skill.

As dusk fell, one by one, tall figures emerged from the cliffs.

This time there were many more ghouls than last time, over 20 of them, and they seemed smarter than before, staying close together as if they knew there was danger outside.

This affected the players’ strategy of divide and conquer, making it difficult to initiate a plan.

Mu Ying thought about it; their close positioning made it convenient for her to use her Spells, didn’t it?

Consequently, the surrounding plants lengthened and stretched wildly, entangling the ghouls frenetically.

After leveling up, the Vines produced by her entanglement technique had become more resilient, momentarily tripping up the level 3 ghouls.

Although they couldn’t hold them for long, getting the Vines to drag and disperse the ghouls as much as possible was not a big problem.

Moreover, the Vines were not uniformly wrapped around the ghouls, causing their escape speeds to vary.

After breaking free, they naturally moved away from the frenzied plants, avoiding the areas affected by the entanglement technique.

With a single Spell, she had fragmented the ghouls.

Mu Ying felt the timing was just right and let loose an arrow.

Her arrow was a signal, and suddenly, a large group of people covered in damp cloths popped out from behind tombstones, in the bushes, and from the treetops.

“Charge!”

They divided the ghouls into groups and lured them to scatter a bit, to prevent them from uniting, which could cause trouble.

One squad holding off one ghoul was not a problem.

At this time, with Mu Ying Tree Skin Skill, Enhanced Attributes, Divine Movement Technique, and Spider Walk Skill active on her, she moved quickly and effortlessly on the trees, swiftly finding the right angles.

With the help of a Crosshair and her familiarity with the Arrow Mastery Skill, her actions of jumping, aiming, drawing the bow, and shooting were smooth and continuous.

Sometimes she was crouching, sometimes standing steadily, sometimes hanging upside down from a tree.

Every shot was a hit!

This acrobatic style of movement and shooting astonished the new players in the territory.

It was then that they truly understood the exaggerated descriptions of Mu Ying’s combat ability from the others in the territory.

It turned out there really was an archer Druid even more formidable than Forest Patrol!

Those who had chosen Forest Patrol and had never engaged in shooting were still struggling with a hit rate below 60%, and they could only shoot while stationary.

They dared not use bows and arrows in group combat, unsure whether the arrows would hit the enemy or their own people.
