I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 148 - 148 147 Qingshan Town148: Chapter 147 Qingshan Town 148: Chapter 147 Qingshan Town The return journey had even more people, but thanks to the finished stone path, the walk was infinitely easier.

By the second evening, the group had arrived at the end of the stone path just outside Qingshan Forest.

“We’re here already?”

“What else did you think?”

“I thought the wilderness was dangerous.

I didn’t expect nothing to happen.”

“That’s because we cleared all the obstacles on our way there and with the stone path, wild beasts don’t usually like to move around near the path.

We’re afraid of them, but they don’t want to be disturbed by us either!

Let’s go, there’s still a stretch of mountain road ahead!”

“Where did the Lord go off to?

What’s that white expanse over there?”

“That’s the Plantation, a place within the territory specifically for cultivating land.

Pay a little rental fee, and you can rent a field protected by a protective shield, and you can even teleport between territories.

It’s troublesome for ox carts to travel on mountain roads, so she will probably teleport directly back.”

“Ah?

You have to rent the land?

Where we’re from, whoever clears the land owns it.”

“That’s why you have to worry every day whether your crops are being destroyed by people or beasts, and you have to be concerned about personal safety while farming.

It’s not worth saving that bit of money.”

“...”

Mu Ying was indeed heading to the Plantation with the ox cart.

The Jumping Rabbit family had temporarily settled there, and once their number grew, they would be moved to the Breeding Camp to be raised.

The Fire-breathing Chicken eggs were the same.

After she returned to her own Plantation, she built a rabbit hutch next to the ox shed, “This will be your den for now.

You can eat those fast-growing forages outside as you please.

Get used to it for a few days.

Once I’m free, I’ll come assign you tasks.

After the little rabbits grow a bit more, I’ll move you to a new home.”

“Crunch~ Crunch~” The Jumping Rabbits nodded vigorously; autumn had come, yet the grass was still so tender and delicious!

Thinking about the additional mouths to feed, Mu Ying scattered some fast-growing forage seeds behind the rabbit hutch and ox shed.

These were to be their basic rations, while better vegetables and fruits were rewards for helping with work.

However, the rabbits wouldn’t stay here long as her Plantation was primarily for cultivation and didn’t have much space for them to move around.

Settling the Jumping Rabbits was an easy task and didn’t take much time.

Gungun’s eggs were also temporarily placed in the rabbit hutch.

As soon as it returned, it reverted to its original form, gathering all the Fire-breathing Chicken eggs Mu Ying had collected this time under its belly, determined to hatch some chicks.

Mu Ying just let it be.

[Territory has reached upgrade requirements, upgrading to Town Level.]

[Sub-camp Map has been upgraded.]

[Short-range Teleportation Array blueprint has been upgraded.]

[Long-distance Transmission Array blueprint has been unlocked.]

Just as she stepped out of the rabbit hutch, her Player Manual brought in new messages.

“The territory actually upgraded?” Mu Ying opened the territory page.

The information regarding the territory hadn’t changed much, except for an increase in the number of residents.

“[Residents: 5023]”

She guessed that new players had moved into the camp, and the number of residents had surpassed 5000.

Just as she thought, the number of residents was indeed one of the important conditions for upgrading to Town Level.

Mu Ying went to check out the blueprints that had undergone changes.

The size limit of the Sub-camp increased from 1 hectare to 2 hectares.

On the surface, the upgrade of the Short-range Teleportation Array appeared unchanged, as it could still only be built in conjunction with a Sub-camp to achieve teleportation between the territory and Sub-camps, and between Sub-camps themselves.

However, after being upgraded to Town Level, Sub-camps could be built within a radius of three hundred kilometers from the center of the territory, effectively extending the teleportation distance.

But the most important part was the new functional blueprint, likely the crux of Noa Town’s urgency to make money.

Mu Ying opened the introduction to this blueprint.

[Facility: Long-distance Transmission Array]

[Function: Supports long-distance teleportation between the territory and other camps]

[Size: Can teleport up to 10 people at a time, with a teleportation distance not exceeding a radius of one thousand five hundred kilometers from the center of the territory]

[Required Materials: 1 million energy]

[Conversion Blueprint Requirement: 10,000 energy]

“No wonder the Lord of Noa is so anxious,” Mu Ying thought as she looked at the blueprint’s introduction and cost.

She felt both excited and pained!

Being able to establish a Transmission Array with other camps, a radius of one thousand five hundred kilometers was enough for her to connect with 90% of the camps in Xia Country, including the three other main camps.

This meant that transportation issues could be improved, and people could be assembled faster!

She didn’t approve of Noa’s way of treating Sub-camps merely as teleportation points, which came from the fact that the original Sub-camps could only be built within a hundred kilometers of the territory.

Sub-camps were costly, couldn’t extend very far, and building so many in the early stages actually hindered the development of the territory.

By the late stages, the distance wasn’t even worth using a Transmission Array for, as it was only a three-to-five-day journey.

If the Short-range Teleportation Array within the territory was like a bus, then this new Long-distance Transmission Array was like the train or airplane of the apocalypse!

She spent 1 Gold Coin to exchange the blueprint.

Then she took the blueprint to the small cabin where the territory’s income was stored, took out all the money she had earned, and along with the copper coins already there, converted them all into the highest denomination.

Several small mountains of copper coins suddenly shrank into a small pile.

“1, 2...

75 Gold, 26 Silver, 53 Copper, still quite a lot short!”

But this wasn’t a problem for her.

If she had to scrape the money together, she still had many ways to do it.

Not to mention the Enchantment Books and Storage Pouches that could be converted from the Trial World, even the Magic Potions she concocted herself could sell for some money.

However, the former was akin to exchanging Source Power for Gold Coins, which didn’t seem worth it.

She wanted to set up a Plantation like Grandpa Shom’s, so she had to save her Source Power.

The latter would require a lot of her time and effort in the real world, which also seemed not worthwhile.

After all, compared to territory development, her own strength was the most important.

She always knew how to prioritize – the territory was there to add glory to her success, the territory belonged to her, not the other way around.

With this thought, Mu Ying calmed down.

What’s the rush?

If she could retain this wave of new players, subtracting various expenses, the territory’s net income was close to 5 Gold Coins a day.

At most, she could wait another week.

The upgrade of the territory and the money earned couldn’t directly translate into her strength; they could only improve her living standards and make life better for the people in the territory.

If she were a Mage, she would definitely be earning money at all costs to support herself by now because every Spell had to be learned with money, and they were damn expensive too.

In the end, Mu Ying decided to sell off the various pieces of equipment obtained from killings and the Glowing Dust dropped by Ghost Fires.

She would gather as much as she could and save the rest slowly.

Of course, the immediate priority was that with so many people coming to the territory, it was getting somewhat crowded.

Tree Houses needed to be prepared, and the Sub-camps had to be expanded.

These were the basics of the territory, which needed to be secured.

So she spent nearly 3 Gold Coins to extend the Territory Shield outwards, covering 10 hectares.

The defense ability hadn’t changed, the number of Tree Houses had increased to five hundred, and all three Sub-camps had been enlarged to the current maximum size of 2 hectares.
