I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 143 - 143 142 The Dispute Between the Rabbit and the Snake143: Chapter 142: The Dispute Between the Rabbit and the Snake 143: Chapter 142: The Dispute Between the Rabbit and the Snake Mu Ying heard this and nodded in agreement.

She wasn’t tracking anyone and indeed had no interest in the Half-Breed instance, but it was necessary to know where they lived to avoid her unrequited attempts at making friends.

There’s strength in numbers, and the moderately sized trap was filled in quickly.

The journey continued.

The road they took seemed extraordinarily popular as they encountered two Jumping Rabbits and a python along the way.

Jumping Rabbit was a Magic Beast known not only for its incredible leaping ability and knack for kicking things but also for a skill called Bouncing Ball, which Mu Ying witnessed this time.

The Bouncing Ball skill produced a watermelon-sized woven ball with excellent elasticity, which a Jumping Rabbit smacked like a volleyball.

It hit the python’s body while another rabbit leaped high and fiercely kicked it in the stomach.

The python, not being a Magic Beast, relied solely on its strength, and with a sweep of its tail, it knocked one of the Jumping Rabbits far away.

However, the Jumping Rabbit that was enthusiastically hopping wasn’t the python’s target; instead, it persistently chased the one that had smacked the Bouncing Ball.

Inexplicably, despite the proximity of the python, this Jumping Rabbit stubbornly refused to jump.

Although the Bouncing Ball had insufficient Attack Power compared to the rabbit’s leg strength, not jumping was futile.

The other Jumping Rabbit kicked the python fiercely, causing significant harm but not without suffering itself.

It was swiped away by the snake’s tail several times, each fall heavy.

“They are fighting so vigorously, are we really that unnoticed?”

The onlookers murmured.

“Maybe they’re too caught up in the fight to care about us?”

“You know, these two Jumping Rabbits are acting weird.

Why stand there and take on the python head-on?

Previously, weren’t they quite sneaky?

Kicking when they could win and fleeing when they couldn’t.

Could there be two breeds of Jumping Rabbits?”

There were quite a few Jumping Rabbits around the territory.

Their fur was valuable, and their meat was tight and savory, especially the leg meat, which made tasty jerky.

Some teams present had hunted Jumping Rabbits.

However, since the rabbits were incredibly fast and rarely stood their ground, successful hunts were scarce.

“Damn it, that Jumping Rabbit’s leg is broken!”

“The other one’s about done for too!”

Mu Ying saw the despair—and a hint of pleading—in the eyes of the immobile Jumping Rabbit.

She thought of something, waved her hand to cast a spell, and a pale green energy Shield appeared in front of the Jumping Rabbit, blocking the python’s fangs.

“Go, kill the python, save the Jumping Rabbits—10 Contribution Points for each person!”

“Charge!”

Nothing motivated people more than Contribution Points equivalent to money.

A crowd charged forward, and it was fortunate the python was long enough; otherwise, there wouldn’t be enough for everyone to hack it.

Even with so many humans around, the Jumping Rabbit still didn’t run away.

The other, with a broken leg, stumbled over to its companion, and the two rabbits huddled together, trembling.

“Why do I feel like we just got shown up by rabbits?”

“You aren’t imagining things.”

“I’ll handle the rabbits, you all step back.

Don’t scare them.

The python’s yours, take it away!”

Mu Ying walked over, willing to spend Territory Contribution for these two Jumping Rabbits, or more precisely, for the baby rabbits behind the female rabbit.

The others backed off as instructed.

The savvy ones understood that the Territory Contribution wasn’t paying for their participation, as engaging the enemy was already part of this mission’s scope, so the Contribution Points were actually purchasing the ownership of the rabbits.

With everyone further away, the two Jumping Rabbits finally calmed down and seemed less frightened.

In fact, seeing such large rabbit creatures tremble in front of small humans was quite striking.

“Are you unwilling to run because there are little rabbits behind you?” Mu Ying asked using animal conversation.

The two Jumping Rabbits indeed trembled quietly; if it weren’t for one having a broken leg and the other unable to jump, they probably would have kicked her.

Mu Ying released her natural scent, “I can heal its leg, but I have one condition, give your children to me.”

The rabbits’ fur almost exploded.

“Don’t worry, I will take good care of them.

I also welcome you to follow me, and I’ll provide you with good food and drink.

All I ask is for you to help out a bit,” Mu Ying formed a Water Ball, “Have some water first.”

The heads of the two rabbits jerked back.

“If you don’t drink, I’ll have them fight!” Mu Ying threatened.

Eventually, the male rabbit, shivering, licked it once.

Then licked it again.

Female Rabbit: Are you out of your mind?

Male Rabbit: Ah, it’s quite tasty!

Mu Ying smiled slightly, of course it was tasty; she had mixed a lot of spring water in it.

Didn’t you see Old Yellow Bull’s eyes go wide?

She called Old Yellow Bull over, “I’ll borrow some of your fodder.”

Mu Ying pulled a handful of hay from the stacks on the cart, “If you follow me, you’ll have hay like this every day, and you won’t have to worry about pythons bullying you anymore.”

Male Rabbit: Is there such a good deal?

“Of course it’s not for free.

I promise not to kill you and will also protect you, but you need to help me carry some things, just like it,” Mu Ying patted Old Yellow Bull.

“Moo~” Old Yellow Bull mooed proudly.

The rabbits shook their heads together, that cart is so big, they can’t pull it, they can’t!

“Don’t worry, you don’t need to pull as much as he does, but if you follow me, both of you, including your descendants, will have to work for me, and then I will protect you and provide such good things to eat,” Mu Ying’s calculations were clicking away.

Her territory was short of some mounts, and as she couldn’t find more bulls, rabbits were suitable, and they bred well!

The intelligence of the two rabbits wasn’t very high; even using animal conversation, they only understood the gist—basically, to help carry things, then they could eat tasty hay to their fill and drink beneficial water.

Although Jumping Rabbits are Magic Beasts, they essentially still possess the characteristics of rabbits and lack backbone; being cared for by someone wasn’t something unacceptable to them.

Even though they had to work to eat, they still had a backing, this person smelled very good, she probably wouldn’t deceive them.

The key point was she truly had saved their lives; even the snake that almost killed them had struggled hardly at all before now being dismembered.

The Jumping Rabbits glanced at the dismembering scene beside and shuddered, nodding together.

Mu Ying breathed a sigh of relief, “Make way, let me see the little rabbits.”

She formed another Water Ball, she was really investing today.

The constantly unmoving female rabbit hesitantly moved a step to the side.

Behind her, a small hole emerged, inside was a bunch of fluffy, palm-sized little ones with red eyes huddled together.

Mu Ying’s breathing slowed: So cute!

Gungun: I knew it!
