I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 103 - 103 102 News of the Territory103: Chapter 102: News of the Territory 103: Chapter 102: News of the Territory [Resident Notice and Territory Mailbox Instructions]

[1.

Territory residents may post various messages in the resident notice section.]

[2.

The territory mailbox is open at all times to any suggestions regarding the development of the territory.]

The seventh notice board has a large blank area, designated as the resident notice area, with the territory mailbox in the bottom right corner.

The mailbox is small; letters dropped into it don’t stay inside but are directly transported to the designated receiving location she had specified.

This time when constructing the notice boards, Mu Ying didn’t stand outside deliberately and only came out after a while.

By then, discussions about this were everywhere within the territory.

“Life’s looking up now!”

“Who would have thought a few months ago that the secure job would be in mining?

I really regret not taking the job at the old family mine back then, instead of going to Coastal City to look for work.”

“Let’s all submit a resume; who knows, we might get chosen?

There aren’t many mines around Coastal City; there can’t be that many people skilled in this field.”

“That’s not necessarily true; I heard that a student studying geology at Coastal University plans to sign up.”

“Ah, I’m envious.”

“You guys are really out of the loop.

Do you know about old Su from Tree House No.

86?”

“What about him?”

“He’s a professor from the imperial capital, specializes in geology and mineral exploration.

He was just visiting his wife in Coastal City before the apocalypse and ended up getting stuck here.

It’s been tough just filling his belly since the apocalypse, but this time he might just strike it rich...”

Mu Ying, who overheard this by chance, raised her eyebrows slightly.

She had such a talent in her territory?

She made a mental note of this Professor Su and planned to pay attention to him later.

At this time, there were already fewer people around the territory notice board, so Mu Ying went over to get an identity card.

“See, if it’s not her, which other lord would come to get such a commonly issued identity card?”

“That’s not necessarily the case.

I’ve inquired, and she was among the first group that appeared in this territory.

If she wasn’t the lord, how could a girl, who hasn’t even finished high school, climb to first on the level ranking list?”

“You must not have seen her in combat; what’s the matter, you look down on women?

She’s highly talented and smart, unlike you who’s so blind to others’ talents, really ugly!”

“Heh, which side are you on?

Do you know her, taking her side like this?”

“I’m on no side, hmph, can’t be bothered to talk to you!”

“Hey, wait for me...”

Mu Ying weighed the deep brown identity card in her hand.

The two people who’d just been muttering probably didn’t realize what high perception in the Divine Skill profession meant; she heard every word clearly.

It seems her identity won’t stay secret much longer, huh!

There must be quite a few people who are a bit suspicious, but no one has proof, just speculation.

However, it seems that her previous displays of combat power in front of others serendipitously averted some people’s schemes, which turned out to be a welcome surprise.

Mu Ying strolled around the territory, eavesdropping on numerous messages.

Most were expressions of satisfaction and anticipation towards the updated features.

There were many who guessed at the Lord’s identity, but surprisingly few who actually tried to find out who the Lord was.

She returned to her Tree House contentedly, summoned the Player Manual, and wanted to check out the public chat area on the forum for news and approximate locations of nearby territories, in order to decide on the routes and approximate lengths of roads to be built.

But as soon as she opened the forum, she was captivated by a hot post at the top.

The post was titled “Spilling the Beans on What’s Up with Our Own Lord!”

Mu Ying initially thought there were many territories with lords.

However, upon clicking it, she felt somewhat resigned to find that the gossip had turned towards herself.

Post author: “I am a mere villager of Qingshan Village.

Before today, I didn’t even realize that I, a model citizen who pays rent and entrance fees daily, was only a temporary one.

My heart ached as I shed tears of longing for the benefits of being an official villager.

Oh undercover Village Chief, look at your child here!

I dare not dream of becoming a star-rated villager, but can’t you snag me an official spot?

If not, at least release more territory tasks...

I’m still waiting to accumulate Contribution Points!

With each day delayed, that’s another day’s entrance fee.

Round it up, and I’m losing money every day!

It’s clear our Village Chief is one who gets things done, deeply concerned about the employment issues of the villagers, truly you’ve worked hard.

The Village Chief must be a big, big, big nice person with both beauty and kindness.

Talking of which, after I’ve sung such high praises, Village Chief, won’t you take a look at me?”

1st floor: “Thanks for the invite, but no thanks, haha!”

2nd floor: “So did the author lure us in here to ‘kill’ us?

You don’t even know who your own Lord is, you exposed nothing but your loneliness, didn’t you?”

3rd floor: “I don’t understand, what the heck is a temporary villager?”

4th floor: “Replying to the above, it’s a new thing from Qingshan Village today.

For specifics, search ‘Decoding the Seven Notice Boards of Qingshan Village’ to get a detailed understanding.”

5th floor: “Brown-noser, ugh-”

6th floor: “Is it that Qingshan Camp, where the entrance fee is half the price of others, herbs that stop bleeding everywhere within the territory, a public Vegetable Garden, houses made of dreamy Tree Houses, and even cute Mushroom Men who hire people to make films?

Ahhh, I want to go there!”

7th floor: “Let’s go together!”

8th floor: “I’m down.”

...

An hour later, Mu Ying stopped scrolling.

The players chatted and bantered on the internet with great amusement, and she had inadvertently been caught up in it,

reading countless posts about her own camp.

She discovered that Qingshan Camp was quite popular.

There were few territories with lords, most were lordless.

These territories all followed a fixed template for their infrastructure.

Checking the news online, these were probably the template blueprints from the blueprint design section.

Even though their styles were different from Blue Star and looked novel at first glance, once they were discussed in the forum, a great number of territories were found to be similar, like carbon copies of each other, even down to the layout of streets.

Compared to these, the territories with individualistic styles that bore strong personal colors stood out.

Even if they weren’t as organized as the ones above or initially lacked in area and shops, they were nonetheless developing at an exceptionally rapid pace.

Someone had already compiled news about these territories.

Within the borders of Xia Country, there were known to be four.

To the north was Lingtian Territory, to the west, Luoxia Camp, the southwestern border was home to Feihong Territory, and to the southeast along the coast, Qingshan Territory.

Among these territories, only Luoxia Territory remained at Camp Level; the rest had advanced to village-level.

Of the four territories, Lingtian Territory was located in the suburbs of the former imperial capital, with a Lord who was an official.

The territory was basically under official control.

Lingtian Territory did not charge an entrance fee and led in size and population among the four territories.

However, the standard of living there was the worst, with hardly any special territorial facilities.

Most people lived in shanties they built themselves.

To protect more people, a majority of the territory’s income was spent on expanding its size and enhancing the protective shield’s defenses.
