I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 135 - 135 134 The Heartbreaking Tana135: Chapter 134 The Heartbreaking Tana 135: Chapter 134 The Heartbreaking Tana Shela was the girl with white hair, while Tina had black hair.

Windsor and Lillian brought them down.

Mu Ying whispered to Tana, “I’m Mu Ying, green witch.

Remember, don’t eat too much at the banquet later, the senior students have prepared a welcome party for you.”

“Okay, senior,” Tana obediently nodded, thinking how gentle the senior was!

After all the students were seated, Melanie began her speech.

“Welcome to everyone who has enrolled.

Let me introduce myself first; I am the witch magic school principal for this current session...”

It was the same speech as last year, without the slightest bit of sincerity.

Mu Ying quietly mumbled to herself that what should come next was surely about the mentor witches.

Indeed, “I believe you all met a senior student just now, but the seniors’ talents this year are not the same as yours, so we can’t decide on your mentor witches for the time being.

The specific mentors will be determined based on your future specializations.”

“Your senior Mu Ying specializes in magic potions and herbal cultivation.

She has a talent in cooking magic, plant magic, blessing magic, and curse magic.

She also manages the greenhouse.

Besides, she’s quite knowledgeable about humans and holds classes on anti-scam knowledge every week.”

Ms.

Melanie added an introductory section this time, probably because she no longer had Senior Lucia to tease.

This year, Windsor might cry if teased inadvertently, whereas Lillian has a thicker skin, joking with her might lead to one’s own embarrassment.

Mu Ying knew better than to compete with such wicked humor.

Several times when Lady Melanie joked with her and got only a flat reaction, she eventually found it uninteresting to tease her.

After the slow and formal banquet, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that their tongues would not have to suffer any longer.

It was a mystery how Lady Melanie managed to make food that looked appealing but tasted bland and unimpressive.

Only two people had plates where the food had been mostly eaten, one was Melanie herself, and the other...

was Tana.

She had been completely focused on eating throughout the event.

Mu Ying suspected she hadn’t listened to a single word the principal had said.

Although mentor witches had not been finalized this time, everyone had temporarily decided on which junior students they would look after during the pairing process.

As they went upstairs, Lillian hurried up first, closely followed by Tina.

Windsor and Shela came next, and Mu Ying walked at the back to match Tana’s pace.

“You stumbled when you teleported here earlier, did you get hurt?” Mu Ying asked, trying to relieve Tana’s awkwardness with a topic.

Actually, from her previous expressions, sitting posture, and the way she walked, Mu Ying had already deduced that she wasn’t seriously hurt, and the likelihood of injury from the fall was low.

However, it was curious that Tana had gotten up from such a harsh fall without even rubbing the sore spots.

Mu Ying recalled the introduction about the Orange Witch.

“No, I didn’t get hurt.

I’m pretty sturdy, I didn’t feel anything from a little fall,” Tana shook her head, and as though worried Mu Ying wouldn’t believe her, she gave herself a few hefty slaps on the buttocks, not holding back at all.

The people in front turned around at the sound.

“Doesn’t it hurt?” Mu Ying grabbed the silly child’s arm, fearing she might hurt herself again.

“Not at all,” Tana said earnestly, tilting her messy little head.

Mu Ying couldn’t help but straighten out her messy hair.

Her hair was dry and fluffy, making her face look even more delicate.

“As expected of the Orange Witch, with a defense as sturdy as the earth!

But even so, don’t hit yourself anymore, understood?”

“Mm-hmm!” Tana nodded vigorously, with Mu Ying’s hands combing through her hair.

Her hair was tangled, and as she nodded so forcefully, the knots pulled painfully at her strands, resulting in a handful of broken hair in her hand.

Mu Ying froze.

“What’s wrong?” Tana asked, her hazel eyes full of confusion.

Mu Ying moved her hand in front of Tana, and without having to ask, she knew that Tana didn’t feel pain at all.

“Ah, this is normal, I often pull out my hair when I’m scratching my head, and it feels really good,” Tana said with a smile.

Mu Ying surrendered and continued walking uphill, pulling her along.

“Tana, you didn’t eat too much just now, did you?”

Mu Ying felt that this obedient, even somewhat dull junior sister wouldn’t have finished all of Principal Melanie’s prepared food after being reminded.

There must be a reason—she now felt that anything out of the ordinary seemed very normal when it involved Tana.

“Nope, Principal Melanie’s cooking is really good, it’s been so long since Tana has seen such a lavish meal,” Tana said happily.

Upon hearing this sincerely heartfelt compliment, everyone else was shocked.

Windsor: Is there actually someone who thinks the principal’s cooking is good?

Lillian: Does she have taste buds?

Tina: This girl is kinda impressive!

Shela: ...

Yet Mu Ying furrowed her brows, she rubbed Tana’s somewhat rough palms, noticed her neglected hair, and on closer inspection, saw that the buttons of her spring uniform’s undergarment were also misaligned.

This scene was so similar to how this trial character had been a few years ago, “Tana, did you also... live alone before?”

“Yep!

After I turned eight, I lived by myself in a cave near Luoying Canyon.

The canyon is so beautiful, and there are lots of tasty fruits, too, but none as delicious as the food prepared by Principal Melanie.”

Tana didn’t seem to find her situation at all bitter, but Mu Ying felt a pain in her heart for her.

When she acquired this trial character, she also inherited the body’s memories.

The body’s mother had gone missing when Xiao Muying was twelve, and the young girl stumbled along, surviving on the things her mother had taught her, just with more hardship.

But Tana had been living alone from an even earlier age, and as an Orange Witch with her magic inclined toward the defensive Earth element, she surely couldn’t live by growing vegetables like Xiao Muying did.

If these memories weren’t profound enough, then in her previous life, when Mu Ying was at the orphanage, those lonely and difficult days were already hard enough, casting a dark shadow when she thought back on them.

Tana had it tougher, and yet when talking about her life she was filled with optimism.

“I lived by myself too, Tana.

Do you want to make food that’s even more delicious than what Lady Melanie made tonight?” Mu Ying couldn’t help herself and gently patted her head.

What a heartrending child.

“Yes!” Tana’s eyes shone with excitement.

“Then follow me closely and learn Cooking Magic.

I make better food than Lady Melanie, and you can try some tonight.” Mu Ying hoped she could use magic to live a better life.

“Thank you, Senior Mu Ying, can I hug you?” Tana asked longingly, her eyes brimming with affection.

Mu Ying opened her arms, “Of course you can.”
