The strapless design left her elegant shoulders and slender neck completely exposed, drawing attention to her flawless complexion and the cascade of copper-red hair spilling over one shoulder in soft waves. Every movement caused the embroidered fabric to catch the light, producing subtle flashes of gold, crimson, and bronze.

The gown highlighted her tall, slender, statuesque frame and beautifully accentuated the porcelain pallor of her skin.

She looked sophisticated, confident, and undeniably alluring—a vision of Hollywood glamour that effortlessly commanded attention. Conversations paused. Heads turned. Cameras exploded into a frenzy of flashes as photographers scrambled to capture her from every possible angle.

It was a dress Marvin had personally recommended. While even he had to admit it could never reach Nicole’s legendary 1997 Dior ”Absinthe” gown in terms of projecting her beauty outwards, the design possessed a different kind of appeal. It highlighted her natural beauty rather than competing with it, accentuating her figure with understated sensuality and making her look effortlessly, devastatingly attractive. Even among Hollywood’s brightest stars, Nicole stood out.

For a fleeting, appreciative moment, Marvin felt genuinely lost in thought, admiring the perfection of her beauty. If she existed back in his previous world of warring gods and demons, she would surely act as the coveted darling of the high succubi courts and the elven nobility. Her face, her striking figure—it looked gorgeous!

As she stepped out of the car, standing significantly taller than Marvin even in this gown with high heels, she seemed to embody the very essence of high-society beauty. Her presence matched exactly that of an untouchable goddess descended to earth. The flashing lights of the photographers intensified, turning the carpet into a daytime strobe.

In that visual moment, even Marvin, the magnetic entity known as the ”Incubus,” found his own visual gravity momentarily overshadowed by the volume of cameras flashing towards her dress.

”God, she is absolutely gorgeous!” a cameraman muttered, lowering his lens for a second to just stare.

”She looks stunning. Cruise really is the luckiest bastard in Hollywood,” another reporter sighed enviously.

”If a woman looking like that would marry me, I’d give her the deed to my house and my bank accounts without reading the contract,” a producer joked from the sidelines.

The reporters chattered and gossiped, their cameras clicking away to capture the bizarre, powerful visual of the tall, beautiful woman on the arm of the young boy.

Marvin, fundamentally not one completely outdone or sidelined on his own battlefield, decided to assert his presence subtly. He let the magic dormant within his chest stir. A slow, undeniable aura of raw charisma and authority bled out from his space, expanding outward into the immediate atmosphere of the red carpet.

As luck would have it, feeling the sudden shift in the air pressure beside her, Nicole happened to glance down at him at that exact moment.

Marvin’s deep blue eyes caught her blue eyes. His gaze felt incredibly magnetic, deep and heavy with unspoken depth, pulling her in. For a breathless second, she felt helplessly intoxicated by the unadulterated effect of his charm. The noise of the crowd vanished.

’My god, Marvin seems so intensely charming!’ Nicole thought, her heart giving a sudden, erratic flutter against her ribs. ’Wait... what am I thinking? He’s a kid!’ She quickly snapped out of the daze, feeling a hot flush rise to her cheeks. She hurriedly diverted her attention back toward the safety of the flashing cameras, her hand gripping the fabric of his suit arm more firmly to ground herself as they began to walk together down the long red carpet.

”They actually look so incredibly good together on camera!” an *E! News* correspondent noted to her producer.

”Marvin looks impossibly handsome in that blue suit, and Nicole shines radiant tonight!”

”Honestly, if they were somehow a couple of the same age, they would represent the most beautiful duo in this city. I’d definitely pay to watch their movie.”

Fans and reporters alike felt entirely fascinated, swept away by the bizarre, undeniable combined allure of the pairing.

Marvin’s charm proved undeniable, but Nicole’s towering elegance held its own space in the frame. The two of them moved slowly along the red carpet, stopping for photographs, the mechanical sound of cameras clicking forming a chaotic symphony of excitement.

”Marvin! Marvin, over here!”

The frantic screams from the fan barricades swelled with every step they took down the carpet, rising from a constant roar into a deafening wall of sound that eventually overwhelmed even the calls for Nicole.

It was hardly surprising.

Through force of personality, unprecedented success across multiple industries, and a level of public fascination rarely seen in entertainment, Marvin effortlessly reclaimed the spotlight. His box-office dominance had already made him one of the most recognizable young faces in the world, while his literary success had elevated him into an entirely different category of celebrity. The recent release of Harry Potter had ignited a phenomenon unlike anything publishers had witnessed in decades, its rapidly expanding fanbase drawing inevitable comparisons to the early rise of The Lord of the Rings as readers across the globe became captivated by its magical world.

And then there was the music.

Anticipation for Marvin’s upcoming album had reached a fever pitch. Every interview, every public appearance, every fleeting glimpse of him seemed to generate another wave of speculation and excitement. The public’s appetite for anything connected to his name had become insatiable.

By the time they reached the photographers’ line, the attention of the crowd had shifted almost entirely toward him. Thousands of voices merged into a single thunderous chant, camera flashes erupting in relentless bursts as Marvin once again became the undisputed center of attention.

Nicole chuckled softly, leaning down toward his ear, clearly amused rather than offended by the shift in attention. ”You are very, very popular tonight, Marvin.”

”Yes, Nicole. We are,” Marvin replied with a slow, knowing smile, his voice calm despite the chaos surrounding them.

The thunderous energy of the crowd washed over him in relentless waves—thousands of voices calling his name, camera flashes bursting like miniature stars, and an atmosphere charged with excitement and adoration. Rather than overwhelming him, it invigorated him.

He welcomed it.

Every cheer, every scream, every pair of eyes fixed upon him seemed to feed the invisible hunger buried deep within his soul. The attention, the admiration, the raw emotional energy directed toward him—it was intoxicating in a way few things could ever hope to match.

And judging by the faint curve of his smile, Marvin was enjoying every second of it.

Nicole just shook her head, a fond smile on her lips. She genuinely didn’t mind being momentarily overshadowed by this intense, fascinating little man in this specific moment.

After all, she deeply understood the peculiar mathematics of Hollywood, where the blinding spotlight shifted ever-changing and transactional. She knew currently very, very few human beings on the planet could overshadow Marvin’s white-hot fame, riding high off the historic, record-breaking sales of his new *Harry Potter* book and the four Grammy statues he won last month.

Marvin stopped and waved graciously to a screaming crowd of fans standing packed against the barricades near the entrance of the pavilion. They went completely wild at the acknowledgment.

Seeing the outstretched hands, the handmade posters, and the autograph books shoved over the velvet ropes, Marvin let go of Nicole’s arm for a moment. He stepped forward toward the barricade and quickly shook a few hands, signing his signature on a few *Sixth Sense* and *Parent Trap* posters handed to him by a frantic security guard. It represented the usual, exhausting routine of the famous.

”Marvin! Please, just shake my hand!” a teenage girl sobbed.

”One autograph on the book, please!” a mother begged, holding out the first addition hardcover copy of *The Philosopher’s Stone*.

”Just one photo looking this way!” a paparazzi pleaded.

Such pleading requests already became entirely common white noise for him by now.

He politely obliged a few of the easiest requests near the front, and ignored the hundreds of others screaming from the back.

While he understood the business value of engaging with his fans and feeding their devotion, he simply couldn’t humor each and every person wanting a piece of his time.

He found the biggest, most useful advantage of still technically being perceived as a ”kid actor” by the public involved the societal ability to ignore many loud, demanding adults without offending them too greatly. If an adult star ignored a fan, they earned the label arrogant.

If a child ignored them, they simply appeared overwhelmed or following their publicist’s orders. Some entitled people still felt outraged, but you can’t exactly please everyone, and Marvin harbored no desire to try such thing.

Once they finally reached the designated press area at the end of the carpet, they were met by a wall of microphones and camera lenses. Reporters immediately began firing questions over one another, each trying to secure a soundbite before a competitor did.

Most of the opening questions were predictable enough.

”Nicole, do you think *The Others* can reach the level of *The Sixth Sense* at the box office?”

”Marvin, are the Oscar rumors getting to your head?”

”Nicole, what was it like working with Hollywood’s youngest superstar?”

But as was often the case in the late nineties, the atmosphere quickly deteriorated.

The more aggressive entertainment reporters abandoned professionalism in favor of sensationalism.

”Nicole, is it true you’ve already started campaigning for an Oscar?”

”Marvin, are you worried people will stop taking you seriously once you’re no longer the cute kid actor?”

”Nicole, are you concerned about being overshadowed by a twelve-year-old?”

”Marvin, are you dating anyone yet?”

The last question drew a few laughs from neighboring reporters.

Others were even worse.

”Marvin, is it true you’ve earned more money than most adult actors in Hollywood?”

”How much are you worth now?”

”Do you think child actors should even be allowed to compete against adults for Academy Awards?”

Next reporters practically shouted over the others.

”Marvin! How does it feel to have more success than actors three times your age?”

Others immediately followed with questions that would anger people because they’re accusatory, insinuating, and designed to generate headlines rather than answers. They attack motives, exploit optics, and put both subjects in an uncomfortable position without crossing into explicit sexual content involving a minor.

”Nicole, does it bother you that most of the crowd seems to be here for him?”

”Nicole, be honest—are you starting to feel like you’re the one accompanying Marvin rather than the other way around?”

”Nicole, does it bother you that the crowd seems louder for your co-star than for an Star actress?”

”Marvin, do you ever get tired of adults treating you like a business partner instead of a kid?”

”Nicole, you’ve worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Is Marvin the most talented actor you’ve ever shared a set with?”

”Marvin, do your parents still ground you when you’re earning more money than most studio executives?”

”Nicole, are you worried audiences will remember Marvin’s performance and forget everyone else’s?”

”Marvin, when was the last time you had a normal day at school?”

”Nicole, do you feel protective of him, or does he seem more mature than most adults you meet in Hollywood?”

”Marvin, do you think growing up in Hollywood is costing you a normal childhood?”

”Nicole, if Marvin weren’t twelve years old, would he already be considered one of the industry’s leading men?”

”Marvin, how many adults have asked you for career advice this year?”

”Nicole, what’s stranger—acting opposite him or realizing he’s closer in age to your future children than to you?”

”Marvin, do you ever get frustrated when people call you a child actor instead of simply an actor?”

”Nicole, is it intimidating sharing a red carpet with someone who seems to generate this much attention?”

”Marvin, who’s handling your money these days?”

”Nicole, do studios market films around you—or around him?”

”Marvin, do you think you’ll still be famous when you’re an adult?”

”Nicole, is Hollywood creating another child-star success story—or another future tragedy?”

”Nicole, doesn’t it feel a little strange arriving on the arm of a twelve-year-old boy when you’re old enough to be his mother?”

”Nicole, was this your idea or the studio’s? Because some people are saying the pairing looks more like a publicity stunt than a red-carpet appearance.”

”Marvin, do you even understand why people are staring at the two of you?”

”Nicole, are you concerned the public might find this image inappropriate?”

”Marvin, did anyone ask whether you were comfortable being photographed like this?”

”Nicole, why not walk with another adult actor instead of a child?”

”Some critics say Hollywood keeps putting children in adult situations. What’s your response to that, Nicole?”

”Marvin, do you ever get tired of being treated like a miniature adult?”

”Nicole, are you helping launch his career, or is he helping save yours?”

”Marvin, do you think people would be reacting differently if the ages or genders were reversed?”
