From Marvin’s perspective, those dark conspiracies felt most likely entirely true. The general public wouldn’t fully appreciate the chilling accuracy of the film until late 2005. By the time the 2020s rolled around, it became a viral cultural topic for years, as the real-life crimes of elite figures like Epstein and Diddy finally dragged into the blinding light of day.

Kubrick hadn’t made a fiction film; he made a documentary, and he paid the ultimate price for it.

Even with the looming shadow of *Eyes Wide Shut*’s failure hovering over her, it felt blatantly clear in the boardroom that Tom, Harvey, and even leading lady Nicole herself had zero faith in Nicole carrying the film’s box office potential entirely on her own shoulders. They felt eager for Marvin to come on board in front of the camera knowing just having him in the movie would likely get at least a small portion of his hundred of millions fanbase into theaters, resulting in significant box office profits.

Eventually, Marvin agreed to the deal, flashing his smile. An amusement settled in his heart.

He couldn’t help but think when the film inevitably became a multi-hundred million dollar global hit, the studio and the press would loudly claim the credit belonged to Nicole’s dramatic resurgence. But behind closed doors, everyone would know the truth. After all, Marvin already had two box office-shattering successes under his belt. Nicole, as an actress, had none.

After wrapping up the grueling contract negotiations for *The Others*, Marvin seamlessly pivoted his focus back to the endless barrage of interviews and promotional work, effortlessly riding the wave of *The Sixth Sense*.

As the calendar flipped deeper into the new year, shedding the skin of 1998, a different, vastly more powerful kind of magic prepared to unleash upon the suspecting world.

Alongside the cinematic dominance of his thriller, Random House officially launched his highly anticipated new fantasy book, *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone*, on Tuesday, January 12th.

For nearly a year, Marvin waited patiently in the shadows. His legal team primed, weaponized, and ready to strike like vipers at the first sign of copyright infringement.

He still saw no wind of Rowling, or her original manuscript, anywhere in the UK or US markets. The timeline seemed to have fractured, or his very presence in the universe altered her trajectory entirely, leaving no trace of her literary existence he could discern.

Alternatively, she might have perished in this new timeline, or perhaps she never even existed—a mere shadow. He found himself briefly caught in a web of uncertainty, grappling with a multitude of possibilities swirling around him like shadows in the dark.

Yet, despite the weight of these thoughts, a sudden indifference washed over him. He possessed a distinct lack of motivation to delve deeper into the myriad questions plaguing his mind. He simply couldn’t muster the energy to care enough to navigate the tangled mess of what-ifs and maybes defining his reality. The board belonged to him. Why mourn pawns never making it to the table?

Since Random House sat on Marvin’s perfected, translated *Harry Potter* manuscript in multiple languages since September 1998, they spent months planning a massive, unprecedented global launch. They rolled the marketing campaign out simultaneously, executing it like a military invasion across Asia, Europe, and the Americas weeks before the actual release date.

Unlike the quiet, cold, slow-burn reception the book received when initially published by an unknown author in the other timeline, Marvin’s fame changed the equation entirely. Combined with the vigorous, multi-million-dollar promotion by Random House, his name led to an explosive, culturally defining release.

On the freezing night of January 11th, something unprecedented happened in the traditional literary world. Across the globe, from the slick, rainy streets of London to the vibrant, neon glow of Tokyo, and the bitter, freezing avenues of New York City, thousands of bookstores stayed open until the stroke of midnight.

Lines of frantic fans wrapped around entire city blocks, braving the winter elements. It wasn’t just excited children and teenagers waiting in the freezing cold; curious adults, college students, and exhausted parents packed the lines. Many already wore dark wizarding robes and held wooden wands, completely infected by the feverish marketing materials and the captivating prologue Chapters Random House leaked to the global press.

When the clock finally struck midnight, the ensuing chaos resembled the hysterical launch of a new video game console or a Hollywood blockbuster movie premiere, not the quiet release of a children’s fantasy novel.

In its very first week on the shelves, the book shattered every known publishing record, moving over 170,000 copies. Random House prudently anticipated demand and printed over a million copies during the initial phases.

But still, because books flew off the shelves so fast, the industrial printers simply couldn’t keep raw paper in stock fast enough to meet the rabid demand.

By the end of its first thirty days, the book sold a staggering 590,000 copies in North America alone—moving more units in a single, frenzied month than the previous release managed in its entire first year. It bypassed the traditional climb up the bestseller lists entirely and instantly debuted at number one, becoming a viral, undeniable global sensation.

The overwhelming, historic success of the book made one thing abundantly clear to the awestruck publishing industry: *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone* did not represent a standalone novel. It served as the opening salvo of an entire multi-billion-dollar universe.

The book sales proved astronomical, but the immediate global demand for accompanying merchandise caught even Marvin’s seasoned Japanese team off guard. But Marvin himself felt no surprise. He moved long ago.

Months prior, he officially formalized a merchandising partnership with **Meyers BrandWorks**—a holding company, Scarlet Capitals Japan, quietly assembled. In early October, Scarlet acquired a struggling, mid-sized Japanese plastic and toy manufacturer for a bargain price of twelve million dollars. The moment the ink dried, Scarlet Capitals Japan injected another forty million dollars of pure capital to shock it back to life, funding a total, top-to-bottom renovation of its facilities.

Production lines silently gathering dust for months suddenly roared back to life under round-the-clock shifts. New management, elite logistics teams, and executives flew into Tokyo overnight.

Through a tightly negotiated, lucrative strategic alliance with **Happinet**—one of Japan’s most powerful toy and entertainment distributors—Meyers BrandWorks gained immediate, unfettered access to retail channels, supplier networks, and a massive distribution pipeline normally taking a foreign company years to build from scratch.

They didn’t wait for artistic perfection. They just made sure the quality of products was excellent and moved for maximum speed and market saturation. By the first week of January—days before the book’s official midnight release—the global market was already seeded.

Shirts stamped with intricate Hogwarts house crests, thick winter scarves woven in bold, unmistakable crimson and gold colors, posters, enamel badges, and novelties flooded store shelves in carefully timed waves. The more intricate, higher-margin products followed close behind. Simple, wearable robes, cut efficiently from standardized patterns and dyed in vivid house tones, began appearing by mid-January.

The first generation of interactive wands—lightweight, mass-produced, but irresistibly branded with the *Meyers* seal of approval—arrived just as the reading frenzy peaked.

It wasn’t elegant at first. It represented total market domination through inescapable physical presence.

Suddenly, Interactive wands, Gryffindor robes, and Hogwarts house badges flew off the shelves faster than the massive Japanese factories could manufacture them.

Even in the UK, where the story’s deeply British aesthetic remained firmly rooted, the book saw frantic, almost feral consumer demand—with sales figures and merchandise revenue easily rivaling the United States on a per capita basis.

Literary critics praised the ”young American prodigy” for effortlessly capturing the strange, whimsical darkness of British boarding school life with such unsettling precision. But their intellectual words became completely drowned out by something far louder: a global consumer frenzy absolutely refusing to slow down.

But Marvin felt dissatisfied merely selling cheap plastic to children. He understood a market the West currently severely underestimated: the adult collector.

He wanted to rapidly inject the meticulous, obsessive nature of Japanese ’otaku’ culture into the mainstream global market. To do this, he long ago ordered Meyers BrandWorks to hire top-tier, artisan professionals and master sculptors from across the Japanese anime and manga industry.

He didn’t just want action figures; he demanded high-end, premium scale figures.

The Japanese teams received commissions to create highly detailed, 1/7 and 1/8 scale PVC and resin figurines of the characters. These weren’t toys meant for smashing together in a sandbox; they served as display pieces. The expert artisans meticulously sculpted the flowing folds of the wizarding robes, the intricate wood grain of the wands, and painted the eyes with a level of soul and depth American toy companies simply couldn’t replicate.

With them came Hogwarts Crest Wall Plaques, Decorative Wizard Mirrors, Deluxe Hogwarts Robes, House Scarves, Handcrafted Collector Wands, PVC Figurines, T-Shirts, Posters, House Crest Pins, Hogwarts Acceptance Letter Kits, and Leather-Bound Collector Editions.

By introducing these premium, expensive Japanese-crafted merch exclusively through specialized channels and early online portals, Marvin simultaneously captured the disposable income of adult fans.

He was slowly conditioning the Western market to accept and crave Japanese top-quality craftsmanship, seamlessly expanding his cultural influence while inflating his profit margins to astronomical heights.

He also ensured the faces of these figurines somewhat resembled the original cast of the movie, making it easier for the general public to accept them in live action, as he planned to retain the original cast.

This immediate explosion of multi-tiered success stood as a far cry from the slow, uncertain rise the series might once have known. Here, powered by his precise sense for timing, global infrastructure, and market psychology, the boy wizard didn’t just grow—he detonated.

Within mere weeks, the world wasn’t just discovering magic. They bought it in bulk.

---

Sitting in the dim, luxurious quiet of his private study in the San Marino estate, watching the report about frantic screaming crowds gathered outside a flagship Barnes & Noble in Manhattan on CNN, Marvin took a sip of his cold milk.

Global sales reports covered the desk, but his eyes remained fixed on the screen. The news cameras lingered on elated children and adults clutching books, wrapped in scarves, and waving wands—tangible symbols he pushed into existence before the world truly understood how it wanted them.

The door to his study clicked open. Amy stepped in, carrying yet another thick, color-coded binder. Despite the late hour, she looked sharp, though the faint shadows under her eyes betrayed the relentless pace of the Scarlet Capital empire.

”The latest Happinet distribution figures from Tokyo just came over the fax, Marvin,” Amy said. Her voice carried a mix of exhaustion and awe. ”The premium resin figurines sold out their entire pre-order allocation in fourteen minutes. The Japanese servers actually crashed.”

Marvin slowly lowered his glass of milk, setting it down on a coaster. He turned in his chair to face her.

Despite his physical age of thirteen, the way he moved—the grace, the weight of his gaze—belonged entirely to a seasoned ruler.

The Incubus charm radiated from him in dark, magnetic waves, filling the quiet study and making the air feel suddenly, intoxicatingly thick. His handsome features caught the amber light of the lamp, highlighting a sharp, domineering jawline and eyes holding the depth of a stormy ocean.

He didn’t look like a kid drinking milk. ”Fourteen minutes,” Marvin murmured. His velvet voice vibrated with a low, thrumming satisfaction sending an involuntary, unprofessional shiver down Amy’s spine. ”I suppose we will simply have to instruct the Tokyo artisans to double the next production wave. Increase the retail price on the second batch by twenty percent. If they want the art, they will pay for the privilege.”

Amy swallowed, forcing herself to look down at her clipboard to break the magnetic pull of his gaze. ”Yes, of course. I’ll send the directive to the Japanese team immediately. Also... Harvey called again. He’s begging for a timeline on the *Hide and Seek* script. He says Miramax felt ready to greenlight it yesterday.”

Marvin offered a slow, chillingly charismatic smile. He leaned back, lacing his fingers together.

”Let Harvey sweat, Amy. Let him stare at the box office numbers for *The Sixth Sense* and realize exactly who holds the keys in this town,” Marvin commanded smoothly, his tone dripping with confidence.

The media coverage surrounding Marvin’s meteoric rise to global dominance felt widespread, and bordered on fanatical. He no longer simply received treatment as a child prodigy; the press spoke of him as a fundamental shift in the entertainment paradigm.

The *Los Angeles Times* dedicated an entire Sunday feature to his career, reporting: *”The creative output of Marvin Meyers, a terrifyingly talented young writer, actor, musician from Los Angeles, seems to have entered an unprecedented peak period. ’Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ isn’t just breaking sales records; it rewrites the fundamental laws of publishing. Combined with his box office dominance, Meyers acts as a one-man economic stimulus package.”*
