It was only when Marvin had stepped into her life, tearing the doors off that glass case with his terrifying charms, that she had finally drawn a real breath.

But even as they grew closer, she had harbored a deep, bleeding terror. The music industry was a wasteland of betrayals, broken contracts, and conditional affection. Because her own father’s love was strictly tied to her Billboard chart performance, her heart had naturally closed itself off, wrapping her true self in a layer of impenetrable ice. She had desperately desired genuine *love*—a love that didn’t demand her to sing for her supper—but her trauma whispered that a flawless, powerful woman was only ever valued for what she could produce.

Then came her Shakespeare. Her Marvin.

She remembered the humid night on the premier, then their date when he had looked right through the manufactured ”Destiny’s Child” packaging and spoke directly to her hiding underneath. He hadn’t demanded she perform. He had demanded she should expect more, she should conquer. He had taken her impossible, billion-dollar ambitions and treated them not as arrogant delusions, but as inevitable facts.

Slowly but surely, his unconditional protection had thawed the ice. The years of carrying the crushing weight of her family’s financial survival simply evaporated when he wrapped his arms around her. He bankrolled her independence.

He terrified the predators who tried to approach her. He proved, time and time again, that he was the immovable wall standing between her and the wolves.

And last night, she had finally surrendered the last, stubborn piece of her control. She had given him her unguarded *love*.

Coming out of her deep thoughts, Beyoncé shifted slightly, and a sudden, sharp ache shot through her core. At the exact same time, she felt the warmth of his fluid slipping between her legs.

For a fraction of a second, the ingrained panic of a rising pop star flared. ’Could I get pregnant?’

In her industry, a teenage pregnancy was an apocalyptic career-ender. It was the absolute destruction of everything she had worked for.

Thinking about how many times Marvin came in her, she wasn’t sure if she was safe.

But as she lay there in the quiet suite, safely wrapped in his arms, the panic evaporated as quickly as it had arrived, replaced by a rushing wave of joy.

The thought of carrying his child didn’t feel like the end of her life; it felt like the genesis of a real love blossoming from them. She pictured a sprawling, sunlit estate, far away from recording studios and predatory managers. She imagined herself, Marvin, and their children, the halls filled with genuine laughter rather than grueling vocal drills. The beauty of that vision made her chest physically ache with happiness.

She took a deep breath, deciding she needed to freshen up. She placed her hands on the mattress, attempting to push herself up to head to the marble bathroom.

She tried to move her legs and violently gasped—the muscles in her thighs screamed in agonizing protest. Her hips felt like they had been completely dislocated, melted down, and reset. And between her legs... she felt swollen, tender, and thoroughly used. She tried to sit up again and immediately fell back against the pillows, her core muscles entirely refusing to cooperate.

”Ah...” she whimpered softly, clutching the sheets.

”Going somewhere, my love?”

The deep, velvety hum of his voice vibrated directly against her spine.

Beyoncé turned her head. Marvin’s nebula-blue eyes were open, no longer human, glowing with the dark, tender satisfaction of a demon who had thoroughly fed on, and claimed, another mate.

Before she could answer, he effortlessly shifted his weight, propping himself up on one elbow. He reached over to the bedside table, retrieving a steaming, warm washcloth he had apparently prepared before falling asleep while she was lost in thought he used magic to warm it up.

He pulled the ruined silk sheets back, exposing her battered, beautiful body to the cool air of the suite.

”I can’t...” she started, a furious blush rushing to her cheeks as she realized the impossibility of her situation. She let out a hoarse, delighted, disbelieving laugh. ”Marvin, I literally can’t move. You actually did it. I can’t walk.”

He grinned. It was that smug, satisfied, utterly arrogant grin that completely infuriated her intellect but made her heart flutter wildly despite her exhaustion. ”I warned you, B. I looked you in the eyes and told you I would completely ruin you.”

”You did,” she agreed, reaching up for him with a hand that visibly trembled with fatigue. ”And I loved every single second of it. Lord... how many times did I...?”

”Eighteen,” he said proudly, his blue eyes flashing as he gently pressed the warm, soothing washcloth against the sensitive skin of her inner thighs. ”You had eighteen mind-breaking orgasms. You fully passed out quadrice. And I came inside your pussy exactly six times.”

He leaned down, kissing her forehead, her fluttering eyelids, and finally, her swollen mouth. ”And I would gladly start the entire sequence over right now if you asked.”

”Don’t you dare, you beautiful bastard,” she laughed weakly, swatting with zero force at his chest. ”I need at least... a week. Maybe a month in a wheelchair.”

”Good,” he said softly.

As he spoke, he discarded the washcloth and placed his bare hands directly onto her trembling, sore thighs. Suddenly, a deep, pulsing and warmness began to flow from his palms.

Beyoncé gasped, her eyes widening as the Mana flowed directly from his skin and injected straight into her battered muscles. The sensation was indescribable—like liquid, soothing fire melting away the lactic acid, slowly repairing the micro-tears in her tissue, and wrapping her exhausted nervous system in a blanket of euphoria.

He massaged her legs with slow, powerful, expert strokes, the magic speeding up her recovery while simultaneously sending addictive waves of pleasure crashing through her chest.

”Because I’m carrying you absolutely everywhere for the next twenty-four hours,” Marvin declared, continuing his magical massage up her hips. ”You’re not walking. You’re not using those spectacular legs for anything except wrapping them around my waist when I decide I’m ready for round two.”

”Round two?” she squeaked, a fresh wave of heat pooling in her belly as the Mana worked its magic.

”But not yet.” A small smile touched his face as he brushed a thumb across her cheek. ”First, you rest. First, I run you a bath and get you cleaned up. Then I feed you something because I know you’re going to pretend you’re not hungry when you are.”

His arms tightened around her.

”I’ll change your clothes, heal every ache I can find, and hold you until you fall asleep if that’s what you need.” The teasing spark in his eyes softened into pure affection. ”And while I’m doing all that, I’ll keep reminding you exactly how beautiful you are. Exactly how precious you are to me.”

He pressed a kiss against her forehead.

”And for the next few hours, my only job is making sure you know exactly how loved you are.”

He slid up the mattress, pulling her limp, relaxed body completely into his arms, resting her head over his heart.

Beyoncé nestled into him, the physical pain almost entirely washed away by the Mana, leaving only a heavy, narcotic bliss. But as she lay there, a lingering shadow of her trauma briefly touched her mind.

”Hey, Shakespeare...” she whispered softly, her fingers tracing the planes of his chest. ”Would you... would you ever hate me if you saw the absolute worst parts of me?”

Marvin paused, his fingers gently stroking her hair. ”Explain, B.”

She swallowed hard, the vulnerability terrifying her. ”What if I’m not always this graceful, elegant singer the world thinks I am? What if, underneath it all, I’m just incredibly selfish, angry at the industry, and desperately ruthless about my ambition? What if I’m a bad person for wanting to burn down the men who tried to control me?”

Marvin gently cupped her face, forcing her to look up into his deep eyes.

”Beyoncé,” he asked softly, his voice devoid of any judgment. ”Did you ever step on someone who didn’t deserve it?”

She thought of the cutthroat executives, the predatory managers, and her own father. She shook her head.

”Did you ever purposefully hurt an innocent person just to elevate your own status?”

She shook her head again, a single tear escaping her eye.

”Then I do not care,” Marvin stated, his voice ringing with the finality of a law. He touched his forehead to hers, breathing her in. ”We are not all flawless saints, B. And I am the furthest thing from an angel. You can be ruthless. You can be angry. You can be bloody. But my love for you will never, ever change. In my dark heart, you will always be absolutely perfect.”

Hearing his answer, the final, invisible chain of her father’s conditional love snapped into dust. She pulled him down by the back of his neck, pressing her lips against his hungrily, kissing him with a desperate, overwhelming love, as if trying to pour her entire soul into his mouth.

’What should I do?’ she thought, tears of pure joy sliding down her cheeks. ’My heart is completely overflowing.’

They kissed until they were both breathless, finally breaking apart only to let her rest her head back against his chest.

”I love you too, you insatiable demon,” she whispered into his skin, her eyes drifting closed, her body utterly spent, her spirit freer than it had ever been in her seventeen years of life.

”I prefer Devil. It sounds more distinguished.” he corrected softly, kissing the top of her head.

A sleepy laugh escaped her.

”That’s a very devil thing to say.”

”See? You’re learning.”

”Same difference,” she murmured with a drowsy smile.

She fell asleep in his arms, entirely cocooned in his magic, dreaming of deep blue eyes and endless safety—of a man who had ruined her for all others, and in doing so, had made her feel like the tallest, most powerful woman in the entire world.

Outside the tinted glass of the luxury suite, the brutal, exhausting machinery of Los Angeles woke up to grind another day. But inside, completely locked away from the wolves, for the next hours it seemed that there was only two of them in the world.

---

The sprawling luxury suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel felt like a suspended, golden pocket of space and time. It had been exactly one full day since the outside world had ceased to exist, entirely replaced by the tangled silk sheets and the intoxicating, animalistic madness they had surrendered to in the dark.

For the past twenty-four hours, Marvin and Beyoncé had remained locked away from the world, stuck to each other like a newly married couple utterly consumed by their own private universe. They had reveled in the happiness of each other’s isolated company.

When Beyoncé had first woken up the morning prior, she literally could not walk. The unhinged ferocity of their night had left her lower body in a paralyzing, beautiful ruin. But Marvin had not simply conquered her and moved on. Instead, the demon had seamlessly transformed into a meticulous, infinitely tender caretaker.

After they woke up again he had carried her trembling body into the marble bathroom, gently bathing her in the big tub with warm water and soft, soapy clothes. He had cooked gourmet delicious meals in the suite’s private kitchenette, bringing steaming plates to the bed and patiently spoon-feeding her while she rested her exhausted head against his chest, showering her with a relentless stream of soft kisses and cuddles.

And when her battered muscles had screamed in agonizing protest, Marvin had laid his bare hands over her skin. Deep, pulsing Mana had flowed directly from his palms into her bloodstream. The warm, supernatural current was a breathtaking sensation, rapidly accelerating her cellular recovery.

The magic knitted her strained tissues back together, flushing her nervous system with waves of euphoria. By the time this second afternoon arrived, the crippling soreness was entirely gone, letting her wobble her way forward, one shaky step at a time. The only remaining physical evidence of his insatiable hunger were the dark, blooming hickeys painted across her collarbone and the nearly healed bruises gripping her whole body.

For Beyoncé, this level of love was psychologically shattering. Her entire life had been defined by conditional worth. If she wasn’t producing value, she wasn’t valued.

But here, utterly incapacitated, physically broken, and entirely unable to offer Marvin anything but her raw, stripped-down soul, he had worshipped her. He had served her. It seems to be completely rewiring her survival instincts, slowly replacing the frantic anxiety of the industry with an indestructible loyalty to the boy who treated her like a queen, even when she was entirely helpless.

But all sweet things inevitably had to face the turning gears of the real world.
