’Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ isn’t just breaking sales records; it rewrites the fundamental laws of publishing. Combined with his box office dominance, Meyers acts as a one-man economic stimulus package.”*

The *Washington Post* ran a front-page op-ed: *”The little wizard with the lightning scar wreaks havoc around the world, adding yet another crown jewel to Marvin’s impressive literary and cinematic works. The synergy of his brand remains inescapable.”*

The *New York Times* took a more sociological approach, stating: *”Educators and parents all over the world owe a massive debt of gratitude to Mr. Meyers for providing them with such a novel, captivating reading experience. In an era dominated by television screens, this young author miraculously convinced an entire generation of children to fall deeply in love with the written word again.”*

The *Chicago Tribune* proudly proclaimed: *”The undisputed number-one bestseller in the United States, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan... Marvin’s genius clearly knows no bounds. His new book, much like his hit single, feels completely unstoppable!”*

Across the Atlantic, the tribal media in England predictably attempted to claim the success for their own, focusing on the distinct British origins of Marvin’s inspiration for *Harry Potter*.

*The Sun*, never one for subtlety, splashed a headline: *”OUR BOY WIZARD! Marvin’s inspiration for creating Harry Potter undeniably came from his extended time filming ’The Parent Trap’ right here in London, making our glorious city the true, authentic birthplace of the wizarding world!”*

*The Times* added a more refined, but equally possessive, column: *”England’s little wizard became a global sensation within mere days. Reports confirm Marvin Meyers filmed in London during the conceptual period of this novel. His frequent, observant travels around the city—from the architecture of King’s Cross to the cobblestones of our historic alleys—undoubtedly inspired him to write this distinctly British masterpiece. He may carry an American passport, but his literary soul remains deeply Anglo.”*

In the United Kingdom, the fever breached the highest, most guarded walls of society. The royal family took distinct notice of the book.

”William! William, look what just arrived in the post—a special, limited-edition copy of *Harry Potter* that Uncle Marvin sent directly to us!”

Prince Harry, his face flushed with excitement, waved the wax-sealed package in the air as he rushed into William’s private quarters at Kensington Palace. He threw it onto his older brother’s desk, urging him, ”William, open it quickly! I want to see the wands he promised!”

William set down his pen, picking up a silver letter opener to carefully slice through the parchment packaging. He pulled back the velvet wrapping, revealing two beautiful, leather-bound, gold-embossed first editions of *Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone*.

Impatiently, Harry snatched one of the tomes up, flipped it open to the title page, and laughed in pure delight. ”Marvin actually signed it! Look!”

Harry closed the book, running his hand reverently over the golden title on the cover, chuckling. ”You know, William, I really like the name of this little wizard. It matches mine exactly! Do you honestly think Marvin based Harry Potter on me? Am I the secret inspiration behind the hero?”

William glanced at his younger brother, offering a dry, smirk. ’You want too much,’ William thought to himself. But seeing the genuine joy on Harry’s face, he simply replied, ”Maybe. You do possess a bit of a chaotic streak.”

As William opened the title page of his own copy, a line of elegant, flowing cursive writing caught his eye. It wasn’t the standard, generic signature of an author.

*”To my dear Prince William, may all your grandest wishes come true, and may you always find the strength to forge your own happiness in the dark. Your friend, Uncle Marvin.”*

William laughed softly, shaking his head as he traced the ink. ”This guy... he always talks like he’s a hundred years older than the rest of us.”

What the young princes didn’t fully comprehend involved the depth of the shadow their ”Uncle Marvin” cast over their family. Over the years, Marvin and Diana’s private relationship only grew exponentially stronger. He became her anchor in a world filled with royal vipers and relentless paparazzi. Through frequent correspondence and discreet gifts, Marvin cultivated a close relationship with the two princes, strengthening their bond to ensure Diana always felt secure and happy.

But between Marvin and Diana, the dynamic transcended mere friendship. It represented a deep connection.

Just a month prior, during the London promotional tour for *The Sixth Sense*, Marvin made sure to keep a day free in his schedule.

He arranged a meeting at a sprawling country estate in the damp English countryside.

When he walked into the fire-lit drawing room, escaping the freezing rain, she practically collapsed into his waiting arms. In those stolen, quiet hours, Marvin didn’t project the image of a child star. His dominant Incubus soul bled entirely to the surface. He poured a glass of rich, dark wine for her, listening patiently as she unloaded the burdens of her royal existence.

He took her delicate hand, his thumb tracing her knuckles. His eyes locked onto hers with a burning intensity making her breath hitch in her throat.

From sunrise to sunset, it served as a full-day adventure together.

The emotional intimacy they shared, the magnetic, intoxicating pull of his aura, and the profound safety she felt in his presence brought a beautiful smile to her face.

Meanwhile, across the ocean, the viral success of the *Harry Potter* novel and the massive Japanese merchandising wave produced a completely unexpected, compounding effect on the box office of *The Sixth Sense*.

The media frenzy surrounding his book continuously pushed Marvin’s name into the daily news cycle, keeping him at the forefront of public consciousness. This cross-pollination acted as millions of dollars in free advertising for the movie.

Globally, the film led the box office for several weeks. It stood as the top-grossing film in America for five consecutive weekends, maintaining its iron grip on the number-one position straight through December and deep into late January.

By the time theaters finally pulled it more than three months after its initial release, its North American domestic box office hit a record-shattering $375 million. Its worldwide total reached a staggering $807 million, officially placing the psychological thriller fourth on the all-time global box office list.

*Titanic* – $1.9 billion

*Jurassic Park* – $1.033 billion

*Independence Day* – $817 million

*The Sixth Sense* – $807 million

This represented a phenomenal, paradigm-shifting achievement, especially for a dark, somber horror film lacking CGI aliens or sinking cruise ships.

The undisputed success of *The Sixth Sense* shattered the long-held Hollywood stereotype that horror and suspense films couldn’t achieve top-tier, billion-dollar box office earnings. It raised the entire genre to new, prestigious heights.

Director M. Night Shyamalan became an overnight, global sensation, hailed by critics as the next Steven Spielberg. Bruce Willis gained profound, renewed recognition as a serious dramatic actor. And because of his gross backend deal, Bruce would soon cash a fat check. For a brief, shining moment, the massive success actually allowed Bruce to completely surpass Tom Cruise in global celebrity status and bankability.

And it wasn’t just the headline names who benefited from the film’s astonishing success.

Every person whose name appeared in the credits suddenly found themselves attached to one of the biggest cinematic phenomena of the decade.

Toni Collette’s heartbreaking performance transformed her from a respected actress into one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars almost overnight. Scripts flooded her agent’s office, and the paychecks attached to those offers grew larger with every passing week.

Olivia Williams experienced a similar rise. Before The Sixth Sense, she had been a talented actress known primarily within industry circles. Afterward, she became a recognizable face worldwide, someone studios could confidently place on posters and marketing campaigns.

Even the supporting cast found doors opening that had previously remained firmly shut. Casting directors paid closer attention when their names appeared on audition sheets. Producers suddenly returned phone calls that once went unanswered.

The effect spread far beyond the actors.

The producers behind the project gained enormous credibility overnight. Investors who had once hesitated now eagerly sought meetings with them. Studio executives became far more willing to approve their future projects.

The cinematographers, editors, composers, costume designers, set decorators, and visual artists all received the kind of industry recognition that usually takes years, sometimes decades, to earn.

Even the crew members working behind the scenes felt the impact.

A lighting technician who had worked on The Sixth Sense could suddenly point to one of the highest-grossing films in history on his résumé. Assistant directors found better opportunities. Production managers received offers from larger studios. Agents actively pursued talent connected to the film.

That was the hidden power of a blockbuster.

When a movie turned a modest forty-five-million-dollar budget into more than eight hundred million dollars worldwide, success didn’t remain confined to the stars standing in front of the camera.

It lifted everyone.

For years to come, people throughout Hollywood would mention The Sixth Sense on job interviews, contract negotiations, and business meetings. The film became more than a box-office triumph; it became a golden stamp of credibility.

Being able to say, I worked on The Sixth Sense, instantly changed how the industry looked at you.

And for many of those people, that single line would become one of the most valuable entries on their résumé for the rest of their careers.

But not everyone in Hollywood celebrated.

In the glass-and-steel executive boardrooms of the Big Eight Studios—Warner Bros, Paramount, Universal, Fox, Sony/Columbia, MGM and Disney—grown men in tailored suits pulled their hair out in rage and professional despair.

Every single one of those major studios quietly, formally received the chance to participate in the funding and distribution of *The Sixth Sense* more than six months prior. They all received the script on their desks. And every single one of them rejected it. They cited the exact same logic: *”It’s too slow,” ”Ghost stories don’t sell overseas,”* and most damningly, *”We refuse to hand a fifty-percent gross stake to a thirteen-year-old kid, no matter who he is.”*

Now, they bled from the missed opportunity.

When the final $807 million box office numbers published in *Variety*, heads rolled across the industry. At Warner Bros alone, executives unceremoniously fired two senior Vice Presidents of Production on a Tuesday morning for passing on the script. The blinding regret of missing out on a cultural phenomenon of that magnitude caused internal corporate bloodbaths across the city.

Meanwhile, Marvin’s multifaceted talents as a screenwriter, leading dramatic actor, bestselling author, and award-winning composer only fueled his meteoric, unstoppable rise to fame.

His business operated like a compounding flywheel. His films drove people to buy his music; his music drove people to buy his books; his books drove people to buy his merchandise; and all of it drove people right back to the movie theaters. They promoted each other in a closed loop of wealth generation, accelerating his rise to the undisputed peak of the Hollywood A-list within a single year of him walking onto his first movie set.

---

A week later, at the headquarters of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in Century City, Marvin found himself standing in Jeff Raymond’s newly renovated corner office.

As Marvin slowly walked across the imported Italian marble floor, looking around the room, he couldn’t help but shake his head in aristocratic amusement.

”The *nouveau riche* vibe in here feels strong, Jeff,” Marvin noted dryly. He ran a finger over a gaudy, abstract chrome sculpture sitting on a pedestal. He turned to his agent with a teasing smirk. ”You really should have asked me for aesthetic advice before letting your interior decorator loose in here. It looks like an exploding casino.”

Jeff, wearing a suit costing more than a car, grinned broadly. He walked over and placed a stack of coveted scripts on the polished glass table in front of Marvin.

”Damn it, Marvin, I felt so honestly excited by the commission checks clearing from many places that I completely forgot to ask our resident little Renaissance artist for design advice,” Jeff joked, leaning against his desk.

But despite the casual banter, Marvin clearly sensed the shift in Jeff’s underlying attitude and body language.

A year ago, Jeff respected Marvin primarily because of the influence of his wealthy parents, Grant and Linda, and the novelty of his intellect.

But now? Now, even though Marvin physically remained only thirteen years old, Jeff respected him deeply from the bottom of his heart without him needing to use his aura.

Jeff knew exactly who held the leash in this relationship. Marvin wasn’t just a client; he served as the golden goose, the kingmaker, the most powerful entity Jeff encountered in his entire career.
