Reborn As Super Heiress

At first, Huo Sining didn’t understand what scheme Tong Jian and his wife were up to, but after entering the room and seeing Tong Jian coaxing the child while giving signals to the little girl, Huo Sining quickly figured out what kind of trick these two were planning.

Tongtong was taken to the Space by her, and now this family must know that they can’t get the child back, so they simply created a fake Tongtong to fool her.

Huo Sining had long witnessed the couple’s unscrupulous methods, so seeing this fake Tongtong didn’t surprise her much; the smile on her lips just grew colder.

Just as she was contemplating how to expose the couple’s lies, unexpectedly, Liu Jingjing, who was being held by Tong Jian, suddenly broke free from his arms. Caught off guard, Tong Jian let the child slip directly from his embrace onto the floor.

By an unfortunate coincidence, Tong Jian intended to hand Liu Jingjing over to Huo Sining to make the child more acquainted with her. However, due to this mishap, Liu Jingjing fell straight down and hit the edge of the glass coffee table in the living room.

As a result, Liu Jingjing’s forehead struck the sharp corner of the glass coffee table, creating a wound from which blood soon started to flow.

Previously having stopped crying, Liu Jingjing was so stunned by the fall and bump that it took her a good four or five seconds before she burst into tears.

When Tong Jian pulled her into his embrace, she could smell the pungent stench emanating from him. Unable to tolerate it, the little girl, instinctively repulsed, struggled hard to escape his arms.

She never imagined that her struggle would lead to such a painful consequence.

Sharp pain radiated from her forehead, blood trickling downwards and dripping into her eyes. Seeing all this, the little girl cried even louder:

”Waah, Aunt and Uncle are bad, not only mean to Jingjing but also dropped her, boo hoo hoo, I want to go home, I don’t want to stay here, Mommy, it hurts so much, I want Mommy, I don’t want to be Tongtong here anymore...”

The little girl, with no scheming or guile, instinctively wanted to escape upon getting hurt, naturally crying out loudly to go home. She didn’t expect that her cries would completely betray Tong Jian and Zhang Jing’s scheme.

Huo Sining, who had been contemplating what to do, immediately changed her expression upon seeing Liu Jingjing hit her forehead in this unexpected turn of events. With worry flashing in her eyes, she rushed over, anxious to check the child’s injury.

However, at that moment, hearing Liu Jingjing’s childlike babble, Tong Jian and Zhang Jing simultaneously had their expressions change before Huo Sining could react.

Zhang Jing’s face twisted instantly, making her appear even more frightening with her rash-covered face.

A fierce gleam flickered in her eyes as she suddenly rushed over and slapped Liu Jingjing hard on the cheek:

”What nonsense are you talking about? Look carefully, I am your mom, and this is your dad. Who are your Aunt and Uncle?”

Liu Jingjing, stunned by Zhang Jing’s slap, forgot to cry, and looked up at Zhang Jing in bewilderment. Upon seeing Zhang Jing’s fierce expression, the little girl was so frightened that she curled up, realizing she might have said something wrong, and fearing another slap, she trembled and stammered:

”I...you...not...I, I am Tongtong...”

Seeing Liu Jingjing finally admit she was Tongtong, Zhang Jing felt satisfied, her expression softened considerably. Then, pulling Liu Jingjing up, she pretended to attend to the wound on Liu Jingjing’s forehead, while turning her head to reproach Tong Jian:

”How can you be so careless with the child? Look at the mess you’ve made of her. Go fetch the medicine box. Can’t you see Tongtong’s forehead is bleeding?”

Tong Jian, thrown off by the sudden change, breathed a sigh of relief when Liu Jingjing changed her tune, and hurriedly went to find the medicine box.

Huo Sining calmly watched this comedy unfold, eyes betraying a heavy sarcasm.

Su Qingqing and Yingzi, who had remained silent, previously unaware of the situation, began to guess what was happening after witnessing this scene.

However, after exchanging a glance filled with mutual confusion, it was clear that even Su Qingqing didn’t know who this Elisa, mentioned by Huo Sining and the Tong Jian couple, actually was.

Huo Sining didn’t offer any explanations, simply watching as the Tong couple tended to Liu Jingjing’s wound. Only after they had pasted the bandage and finished treating the injury did Tong Jian awkwardly speak:

”Miss Huo, sorry for letting you witness this. Usually, Tongtong is well cared for by my wife, and everything goes smoothly. It was unexpected that you’d witness such an unpleasant incident when you came.”

Huo Sining smiled slightly, waving her hand: ”It’s no trouble, kids are bound to have bumps and scrapes.”

Then, she squatted in front of Liu Jingjing, extended a hand to gently stroke the little girl’s head, and with a smile, asked: ”Does it still hurt?”

Evidently fond of Huo Sining, Liu Jingjing instinctively wanted to snuggle into her arms when she came closer. However, Zhang Jing’s sharp gaze deterred her, fearing she might anger Zhang Jing again. For the first time, she felt that her usually smiling and kind Aunt was so terrifying.

Overwhelmed by fear, Liu Jingjing dared not show too much emotion, only able to shake her head slightly and, despite herself, said: ”It doesn’t hurt.”

Huo Sining’s smile grew even more radiant: ”Good girl, why did you call them Aunt and Uncle earlier? You’re not Tongtong, right?”

Upon hearing this, Liu Jingjing shivered, raising her head to look at Huo Sining in shock and bewilderment: ”I...I...”

The expressions on Tong Jian and Zhang Jing’s faces changed drastically. Tong Jian hurriedly explained:

”Lawyer Huo, don’t listen to the child’s nonsense. This girl has been mischievous lately, always bothering us to play house with her and liking to call us Aunt and Uncle, don’t pay her any mind...”

Huo Sining straightened up, turned her head, and looked expressionlessly at the Tong Jian couple: ”Mr. Tong, do you think I look like an idiot?”
