Reborn As Super Heiress

During the day, the Tepito Market is relatively orderly. Corn tortillas, freshly squeezed orange juice, countless fake LVs or GUCCIs, and Huaxia counterfeit cigarettes stacked like building blocks fill the entire street, much like those southern grocery markets in Huaxia Country.

The only difference might be the colorful rags hanging from the top of the marketplace. The colors projected by these rags are very characteristic of the colorful fashion admiration in Latin American countries.

Of course, ignoring the two rows of muscular Mexican guys wearing sunglasses standing at the market entrance, Huo Sining might really think they accidentally stumbled upon a local market.

Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s Huaxia appearances were quite striking, and as soon as they approached the Tepito Market entrance, they immediately attracted a lot of attention, especially from those Mexican muscle men guarding the gate.

Abaris clearly knew those people. After signaling to Gu Xu and Huo Sining, Abaris approached the muscle men and explained a few words in Mexican, discreetly pulling out a few bills from his pocket and handing them to the guys in sunglasses.

Having received the bribe, the expressions of the muscle men indeed eased up a lot. They glanced again at Gu Xu and Huo Sining and then nodded.

Seeing this, Abaris beamed with joy, hurriedly turning back to wave at Gu Xu.

Seeing this, Gu Xu quickly pulled Huo Sining along and walked over.

The guys in sunglasses glanced at Gu Xu and Huo Sining, said nothing, and directly extended their hands towards them.

Seeing Gu Xu and Huo Sining still dazed, Abaris couldn’t help but remind them in broken English, ”Take off your backpacks, they need to check your belongings!”

Gu Xu nodded and directly handed over both his and Huo Sining’s backpacks.

The two men in sunglasses immediately turned the backpacks over, and soon the contents fell out.

Wallets, passports, some useless daily items, and nothing else in the backpacks. The two men in sunglasses were a bit surprised. Typically, foreigners coming to Mexico, whether for vacation or to explore Tepito, wouldn’t come without luggage. These two people, besides their wallets and passports, didn’t bring any self-defense items, not even a fruit knife for self-defense, which was quite strange!

The two men in sunglasses couldn’t help but feel suspicious. They exchanged a glance, then turned their gaze back to the two of them and said directly, ”Take off your clothes.”

Huo Sining and Gu Xu both understood what was happening. It seemed these two Mexicans suspected they were concealing weapons.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but curl the corners of her mouth, thinking to herself, if you can find those weapons, then I’ll really be impressed!

Thinking this in their hearts, the two of them subtly exchanged glances and then obediently took off their jackets, standing against the wall, allowing the two men in sunglasses to search them.

Though feeling very dissatisfied with the search by the men in sunglasses, Huo Sining also knew this wasn’t home; this was a drug cartel’s territory. These Mexican drug dealers were notoriously ruthless, and a moment’s carelessness here could cost lives, so they had to follow the rules. Despite feeling unhappy, Huo Sining didn’t want to stand out too much.

Suppressing the surging emotions, she allowed the Mexican guy to pat her down. Huo Sining was a bit tense, her whole body stiffening with the fear of this guy taking advantage of the situation to harass her.

Fortunately, her worries were somewhat excessive. These men in sunglasses, who guarded the marketplace daily, had seen enough beautiful women with good figures, so they were already used to it and didn’t even develop any inappropriate thoughts;

Moreover, there was still a bit of a gap between Latin American and Oriental aesthetics. What appeared very beautiful to Oriental eyes might not be attractive to Latin Americans.

Besides, before coming here, Huo Sining deliberately applied makeup to make her skin appear sallow with many freckles, making her look like a shriveled woman in her forties. So in the eyes of the man searching her, Huo Sining’s appearance wasn’t particularly enticing.

The guy in sunglasses checked her properly and, confirming she wasn’t concealing any dangerous items, finally let go of her.

On the other side, Gu Xu also passed smoothly. The men in sunglasses almost pulled down his underwear but still didn’t find any firearms or ammunition on him, which finally put their minds at ease, allowing these two into the marketplace.

However, as Huo Sining and Gu Xu followed Abaris into the marketplace, those men in sunglasses looked at them as if they were idiots, their expressions full of undisguised mockery and sympathy.

Perhaps they couldn’t comprehend how anyone could try to enter the Tepito Marketplace carrying nothing but a wallet and passport. Wasn’t this just inviting people to rob them?

Those men in sunglasses seemed already able to foresee that these two Huaxia people would soon encounter misfortune after entering the market, so when they looked at these two, their eyes unconsciously revealed a gaze as if looking at dead people.

Yet, they didn’t realize that in the eyes of Gu Xu and Huo Sining, their expressions were equally amusing.

These men in sunglasses guarded the place vigilantly, indeed, but they couldn’t imagine that the two Huaxia people were hiding dangerous weapons, and those weapons’ power was beyond their imagination.

”I must say, you two are really bold, coming in without bringing anything at all. Do you think this is some place where Huaxia people go shopping crazily? Let me tell you, I’m only responsible for bringing you in and guiding you. If you encounter any trouble, I won’t stand up for you!”

Abaris also didn’t expect these two Huaxia people to be so honest. When they said they didn’t bring dangerous items, they really didn’t bring anything, not even a pepper spray.

Honestly, Abaris had interacted with many Huaxia people in Mexico. Most are cunning, greedy, cautious, and cherish their lives. Without thorough preparation, they generally wouldn’t rush to a place like Tepito.

Gu Xu and Huo Sining, who seemed unafraid of death, were the first of their kind he encountered. Especially after seeing those men in sunglasses dump all their luggage out, Abaris stood beside them completely dumbfounded, feeling utterly at a loss.

He really didn’t know what to say. As a Huaxia saying goes, they are like ignorant calves unafraid of tigers; these two Huaxia people were truly one of a kind!
