Reborn As Super Heiress

However, what surprised and nervous Huo Sining and the others was that after they secretly boarded the ship that was about to leave the port, for some unknown reason, the ship did not depart.

When boarding, Huo Sining and Gu Xu clearly heard the sailors on the deck preparing to weigh anchor, obviously getting ready to set sail. But it’s been almost half an hour, and the ship still hasn’t moved. This is somewhat strange.

The three of them hid in the cargo hold, not daring to reveal themselves easily, and could only look at each other in shock.

Just at this moment, several people suddenly rushed into the cargo hold, searching everywhere.

Seeing those people, Huo Sining’s heart immediately tightened because she realized that the ones who came in were none other than the people who chased them at the port earlier.

Huo Sining immediately understood that those people must have seen them at the port earlier and suspected that they secretly boarded this ship, so they detained the ship. Now these people boarded the ship to find them.

Seeing this situation, Huo Sining did not hesitate to reach out and grab Gu Xu, giving him a sign with her eyes.

Gu Xu immediately understood, swiftly grabbing Ouyang Jun’s arm and whispering, ”Don’t make a sound! Hide behind me.”

Ouyang Jun wasn’t foolish; he knew that these people entered the cargo hold definitely to find them. Hearing Gu Xu’s words, although unclear how Gu Xu would handle this, considering Gu Xu’s identity as a special forces captain, Ouyang Jun had a kind of mysterious trust in his old friend, so he did what Gu Xu said without any hesitation or doubt.

Carefully slipping behind Gu Xu, Ouyang Jun held his breath even though his heart was pounding like a drum. He could hear those who broke into the cargo hold searching layer by layer, their footsteps getting closer, about to reach the corner where they hid.

Huo Sining glanced at Gu Xu and, without a moment’s hesitation, immediately sent Ouyang Jun into the Space.

Inside the Space, it’s still, so Ouyang Jun only felt a flicker before his eyes, and even before he could react, he knew nothing.

Gu Xu felt Ouyang Jun vanish instantly behind him, hesitated slightly, and then looked at Huo Sining with questioning eyes.

Huo Sining began chanting the Invisibility Spell, and in a lowered voice, explained to Gu Xu:

”To avoid trouble, it’s better to let him hide inside the Space, or else he’ll definitely be suspicious later, and you’ll have to find excuses to explain. It’s simpler if he sees nothing at all.”

Gu Xu nodded, agreeing that Huo Sining’s reasoning indeed made sense. Previously, his reckless charge through the Mexican police checkpoint was odd enough, and Ouyang Jun, having traveled far and wide for years, wasn’t a fool. Even if he didn’t notice at the time, he likely sensed something amiss by now.

So, avoiding trouble whenever possible, Gu Xu thought it’s best to keep Ouyang Jun inside the Space.

Just after Huo Sining finished chanting the Invisibility Spell, the Mexican gangsters searching had reached Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s hiding spot.

Those cargo boxes were stacked high into a wall. The gangsters, fearing no trouble, directly moved the boxes aside and tore off the oil paper, completely exposing the corner.

Seeing the corner empty, with no one hiding, the gangsters were obviously disappointed and tirelessly stacked the cargo back, covered the boxes with oil paper, and then turned to search other corners of the ship’s hold.

Taking advantage of the moment, Huo Sining hurriedly released Ouyang Jun from the Storage Space. Ouyang Jun, unaware he narrowly escaped danger, thought those gangsters hadn’t yet checked their side, so he dared not make a sound, only hid behind Gu Xu, eyes darting and ears perked, carefully listening for the gangsters’ movements.

Although Ouyang Jun was released, fearing the gangsters would double back, Huo Sining dared not reveal herself so quickly.

Those gangsters, having thoroughly searched the entire cargo hold without finding any suspicious person, grudgingly searched again before leaving the cargo hold for other rooms.

During this process, a crew member constantly smiled and waited outside the door. Seeing the gangsters leave, he entered the cargo hold, rearranged the messed-up cargo, carefully closed and locked the hatch.

Once those gangsters were far away and Huo Sining confirmed there was no danger, she removed the Invisibility Technique.

Throughout, Ouyang Jun never noticed Huo Sining’s Invisibility Spell. He thought they got lucky again, narrowly escaping the gangsters’ search, and once realizing the gangsters had gone, he couldn’t contain his joy. If not worried that loud sounds might attract the gangsters back, he would have laughed out loud.

”We’re damn lucky this time; wonder whose ancestor’s grave cracked and smoked, allowing us to repeatedly turn back at Ghost Gate Pass. Haha, this time really was a roller coaster, but thankfully we overcame danger, turning peril to safety. You don’t know, in this ghost place...”

After waiting for another half hour, they heard the long moan of the horn, and the cargo ship weighed anchor and slowly sailed out of Qingdu Port.

Feeling the ship’s speed increasing, realizing they were leaving Mexico, Ouyang Jun finally felt safe, and the stone hanging in his chest finally dropped, relaxing his expression. He sat down and launched into chatter with Huo Sining and Gu Xu.

Huo Sining watched Ouyang Jun’s chatter with amusement, and after a while, she asked him:

”Aren’t you tired?”

Ouyang Jun waved his hand and laughed happily, ”Surviving a life-and-death situation, I’m glad to be alive to return, no way I’m tired; I feel I have endless energy now.”

Hearing Ouyang Jun say this, Gu Xu couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. With a half-amused expression, he bluntly poured cold water on Ouyang Jun:

”Endless energy? Not to dampen your spirits, but it’s best to save some. We boarded hastily; this ship is headed to America, but we don’t know specifically where in America. It might take three days, five days, or even a week at sea to reach the destination. We’re stuck in this cargo hold, definitely unable to get out; we must handle eating, drinking, and everything else here. Survival depends on your endurance, I can’t guarantee you’ll make it till the ship docks.”
