Reborn As Super Heiress

But Huo Sining and Gu Xu didn’t ask much, because the information in that folder has already been sent to Yu Fei. Whatever it is, with Yu Fei’s skills, he will decipher it sooner or later.

After returning that memory card to Elisa, she realized that Gu Xu and Huo Sining had gone to Tepito Marketplace before rescuing them and had retrieved the memory card she hid in Ouyang Jun’s phone case.

”Thank you. Without your help, our mission would have probably failed this time.”

Elisa looked at the recovered memory card and became extremely excited, repeatedly expressing her gratitude to Huo Sining and Gu Xu.

Gu Xu and Huo Sining were not as relaxed as Elisa. In fact, even though they had escaped District 11 now, Gu Xu knew very well that Mexico is essentially run by drug lords. No matter where they fled, they could potentially be captured by drug dealers.

Therefore, Gu Xu and Huo Sining did not truly treat these three as their allies. Despite Elisa’s gratitude, all Huo Sining and Gu Xu wanted now was to separate from the three and then find a way to take Ouyang Jun back.

Maybe seeing through Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s deliberate distance, Elisa didn’t insist. After the car had traveled for a while, Elisa apologetically said to Gu Xu:

”Mr. Gu, sorry, could you please help us once more by taking us to Qingdu Port?”

Qingdu Port is a large port near Mexico with many ships coming and going. Hearing Elisa’s request, Gu Xu paused for a moment and instinctively wanted to refuse.

They had escaped from Adrian’s hideout, and about an hour had already passed. Gu Xu was sure that by now, the entire Mexico would have laid traps in search of them. Going to Qingdu Port now is just heading directly into danger.

But Huo Sining stopped Gu Xu’s action and turned to Elisa, saying, ”Sure, we happen to be going to Qingdu Port too. When we get there, we can split up and go our separate ways. Miss Elisa, how does that sound?”

Elisa looked at Huo Sining in surprise, ”Really? That’s great.”

Huo Sining shrugged and said, ”It’s just a small favor, a convenient thing to do, you don’t have to be too polite.”

Huo Sining vaguely guessed that Elisa might want to go to Qingdu Port to hand over the task to her employer company, but her proposal perfectly fits Huo Sining’s plans.

Previously, Huo Sining was hesitant and conflicted about bringing Ouyang Jun back to the country, as she wasn’t sure how to do it. If they went to the airport to book tickets, she couldn’t guarantee they would safely board, considering their experiences in the past two days. It’s likely they’d be caught by those Mexican drug dealers before passing the security gate.

This speculation, Huo Sining was very sure, would likely happen. It’s not that she exaggerated the drug lords’ abilities, but she had already seen the essence of the problem – Mexican drug dealers have immense power, enough to infiltrate the police system, and likely the airport airline system. With these drug lords spread so widely, there are probably their informants everywhere throughout Mexico, especially the one called Tranleva, who likely controls the underground black forces in the whole of Mexico with an iron hand.

Thus, Huo Sining was concerned that the moment they entered the airport, they would be captured by those drug dealers, so the thought of flying home was practically out of the question.

The remaining options were either by land or sea.

By land, certainly under those black forces’ control too, and in this ghost place called Mexico, they remain strangers. No matter how they run, they wouldn’t know their way around better than the locals. Naturally, this option is also not feasible.

The only remaining option was to go by sea, which despite the term ”smuggling” sounding unpleasant to Huo Sining, there were no better choices given the current situation.

They could find a ship about to leave port, sneak aboard, and depart before those drug dealers discover them. As long as they leave Mexico, the rest would be easier.

Whether that ship goes to America, Canada, or Peru, once they leave Mexican territory, they can disembark and book the earliest flight back home.

Or at worst, even if they encounter something aboard the ship, it’s no big deal. With the Water-Repelling Pearl, the ocean is Huo Sining’s domain. If necessary, she could bring Gu Xu and Ouyang Jun into a magical space and sneak into the sea, subdue a giant whale or great white shark, and have those creatures help her leave Mexico.

The more she thought about it, the more Huo Sining believed this idea was good. So she signaled to Gu Xu to drive the car toward Qingdu Port.

Initially, Gu Xu was doubtful, but seeing Huo Sining’s determined expression, he no longer hesitated and stepped on the gas toward the coast.

Elisa was also quite resourceful, perhaps planning the escape route before the action. Under her guidance, Gu Xu’s car managed to avoid many surveillance cameras along the way.

However, the people in the car felt panicked when they approached the only main road leading to Qingdu Port. Not far from the entrance, a group of Mexican traffic police appeared, setting up a checkpoint and inspecting vehicles one by one.

Seeing this, not only Elisa but even Ouyang Jun and Locke Jason’s faces turned pale.

”These traffic police could very likely be dispatched by those drug dealers!”

”We’re too conspicuous; if stopped by the traffic police, we’ll likely be caught!”

Locke and Jason began heatedly discussing it, but despite their panic and anxiety, they couldn’t come up with any good plan now.

”Don’t panic and scare yourselves unnecessarily. It might not be as you think, just routine checks by local traffic police.”

Elisa was terrified inside, but she understood under such circumstances, no matter how frightened she was, she absolutely shouldn’t show it. Otherwise, she could unintentionally betray herself without the traffic police needing to inspect her.

Huo Sining turned her head to glance at Elisa and discreetly recited an Invisibility Spell.

Others in the car hadn’t noticed any changes around them, but Gu Xu immediately sensed something different. He had seen Huo Sining use the Invisibility Spell many times and experienced it himself; thus, when this familiar feeling arose, he instantly realized what was happening.
