Reborn As Super Heiress

Finding Tongtong’s home location, Huo Sining called the two to walk back together, planning to stay at Jinling Hotel first.

According to Huo Sining’s idea, it was naturally to observe the situation first. She didn’t plan to disturb the couple, nor did she want Su Qingqing to know what she was doing in Jinling, so the best way was to sneak to the Tong’s home at night, and take a look at how the couple treated Tongtong.

Who would have thought, just after walking out of the alley, they turned a corner and bumped into a little girl.

The three of them were adults, naturally more robust than a child. This collision caused the child to fall directly, landing on her backside, and the large snakeskin bag in her hand also fell to the ground, spilling out one empty water bottle and can after another.

Those bottles rolled out, scattering all over the stone road, and the little girl didn’t even look up to see who had bumped into her, frantically squatting down to pick up her dropped bottles.

Huo Sining and the others couldn’t help but freeze.

It was still winter, yet this child was wearing such a thin coat, and canvas shoes that had a big hole, revealing her little toes.

The little girl looked very frail, her face pale, appearing to be just a tangle of four or five years old.

It was one thing, but when she extended her hand to pick up the scattered garbage bottles, revealing the back of her hand and fingers, Huo Sining noticed with sharp eyes that the child’s fingers were swollen like spring onions, covered in purplish frostbite, some even cracked and oozing pus, looking quite horrific.

Seeing this situation, despite growing up in the countryside herself, Huo Sining felt very uncomfortable, quickly squatting down to pick up the bottles scattered far away and stuffing them into the child’s snakeskin bag.

Noticing Huo Sining’s action, the child was evidently surprised, couldn’t help but raise her head, looking towards Huo Sining with surprise.

When she raised her head, seeing the little girl’s face, Huo Sining’s body unconsciously stiffened.

The child in front of her had cheeks flushed red by the cold wind, a runny nose, timid eyes, yet her delicate features, and the toughness and stubbornness in her eyes were so familiar, it seemed to rush at Huo Sining fully.

Huo Sining’s body unconsciously stiffened, her gaze fixed closely on the little girl in front of her, not speaking for a long time.

The little girl looked at Huo Sining, seemingly sensing some strange emotion in her gaze, being stared at by such a stranger, she was somewhat afraid, hesitated for a moment, then reached out, wanting to take back the bottles from Huo Sining’s hand.

But, Huo Sining’s hand tightly clutched the bottles, no matter how the little girl tried to tug, she couldn’t pull them out.

The little girl couldn’t help getting a bit angry, raising her head and glaring at Huo Sining: ”Auntie, could you return my bottles?”

Awakened by this crisp voice, Huo Sining snapped back to reality, releasing her grip and handing the bottles to the little girl.

The little girl’s eyes showed a hint of happiness, after stuffing those bottles into the snakeskin bag, she politely thanked Huo Sining and the others, then dragged the snakeskin bag along the ground, continuing forward.

Seeing the little one turning the corner, about to enter the alley they just walked through, and about to disappear from their view, Huo Sining’s heart tightened, she abruptly stood up and chased in the direction of the little girl, urgently calling:

”Tongtong?”

Huo Sining was somewhat uncertain, this child was beautiful, but only a little like Elisa, she didn’t dare to be sure if this was Elisa’s child.

So, she was just trying it out, probing by calling out.

The next second her guess was confirmed.

As soon as she called out the name Tongtong, the little girl dragging the snakeskin bag slowly turned her head, looked at Huo Sining with surprise, her eyes roamed over the three of them, finally falling on Huo Sining who was just a few steps away.

After pausing for a few seconds, confirming repeatedly she didn’t recognize Huo Sining, the little girl couldn’t help tilting her head, asking: ”Big sister, was it you who called me? Do you know me?”

The shock in Huo Sining’s eyes quickly turned to anger, she never expected that the child in front of her was actually the Tongtong that Elisa had entrusted her to care for.

Seeing the little girl dressed thinly and slovenly, her hands unhidden from chilblains, and the timid look like a little deer in her eyes, Huo Sining could not help but feel something.

If Elisa were standing in front of this child right now, she was sure, despite enduring all kinds of tortures from drug dealers with stubborn defiance, seeing her daughter like this would break her down instantly.

Huo Sining couldn’t imagine, if it weren’t for Elisa’s last instructions urging her to come and check, she wouldn’t have imagined the child’s current plight.

Huo Sining’s throat felt tight, chest heavy, deliberately suppressing the anger within her chest, she slowly walked to the little girl’s side, squatting down to gaze into this little girl’s eyes:

”I know you, but you don’t know me. Tongtong, tell big sister, who made you pick up these bottles, what are you going to do with them?”

Hearing Huo Sining’s question, the little girl stiffened, raised her head cautiously and warily glanced at Huo Sining, and suddenly lowered her head again, silent and unwilling to speak.

Seeing this, Huo Sining took a hundred-yuan bill out of her pocket, handed it to the little girl:

”Alright, you don’t have to say if you don’t want to, you’re planning to sell these bottles for money, right? How about you sell them to Auntie, one hundred yuan, sister will buy your bottles.”

Apparently surprised by Huo Sining’s words, the previously reluctant little girl suddenly raised her head, looked at Huo Sining with some delight: ”Really?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”Yes, sister never lies.”

The little girl finally smiled, showing a bright smile, happily handed over the snakeskin bag of cans and water bottles to Huo Sining, took the money from Huo Sining’s hand, carefully tucked it into her pocket like a treasure.
