Reborn As Super Heiress

Hearing that voice, Huo Sining couldn’t help but be startled.

Although the time of interaction wasn’t long, she recognized the voice of this woman. The person on the other end of the phone was Elisa, the one they had parted ways with five days ago at Qingdu Port.

Huo Sining felt a bit strange, not knowing why Elisa was calling her, but detecting something off in the woman’s voice on the other end, she still asked:

”It’s me, Miss Elisa. Is there something you need from me?”

The person on the other end paused slightly upon hearing Huo Sining’s voice, seemingly calming her breath before speaking weakly:

”Miss Huo, have you... already returned home safely?”

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”Not yet. We’re in America right now, but we’ll return very soon. How about you, Miss Elisa? Have you returned to the company safely?”

Hearing Huo Sining’s question, Elisa’s tone immediately choked up slightly. After hesitating for a moment, she said:

”Miss Huo, thank you for helping me in Mexico. Earlier, I promised you and Mr. Ouyang that after completing the mission, we would split the reward fifty-fifty. Miss Huo, would it be convenient for you to give me your contact address?”

Huo Sining didn’t care much about the money. Seeing Elisa say this, she couldn’t help but smile: ”Elisa, there’s no need to be so polite. Ouyang Jun was joking before; he didn’t really mean for you to give money. You can keep the reward yourself.”

”No... it must be done, cough cough...”

The woman’s voice on the other end suddenly hurried, breath becoming labored, and she started coughing violently. After coughing for a while, her voice weakened even further, and she said:

”Miss Huo, I want... want to ask for your contact address... to ask you for another favor.”

Huo Sining was puzzled: ”A favor? What can I help you with? Tell me.”

Elisa laughed lightly, saying: ”My work... is somewhat special, so... for years I’ve been abroad, never returned. But I have a little daughter... She is fostered by a couple... I want... to send something to her. Could I ask you to help... deliver the items to my daughter... cough cough...”

Elisa’s voice was intermittent, and Huo Sining hadn’t noticed anything before, thinking it was due to signal issues. But now, sensing the growing weakness in Elisa’s voice, as if she were badly injured, Huo Sining’s heart tightened, and she couldn’t help asking:

”Elisa, where are you? What’s wrong? Are you injured?”

Elisa, however, didn’t seem to hear Huo Sining’s question, continuing on her own:

”My daughter, she’s five this year... lives at Jinling Confucius... Street, number 316, called, called Tongtong. The couple raising her are around thirty, the man is Zhou Shimin, the woman... is Ye Juan.”

Huo Sining really wanted to ask Elisa, since her daughter had foster parents, why not just send the items directly to them, rather than through her unnecessarily, but realizing Elisa’s state was off, she quickly nodded and agreed:

”Okay, I got it. If you want to send things, you can send them to my villa in Magic Capital; I’ll give you the address.”

Huo Sining provided her residential address in S City to Elisa, and the woman on the other end repeated her daughter’s information again, ensuring Huo Sining remembered. Then she said a quick: ”Thank you, goodbye,” and hung up.

Still a bit dazed after receiving the call, Huo Sining only came to herself after Elisa hung up, looking up at Gu Xu:

”Elisa called. Her voice sounded off; when we parted, I had clearly healed her wounds, but just now hearing her talk, it seems like she’s badly injured, speaking in a tone like leaving a last will.”

Gu Xu furrowed his brow, recalling when Elisa, Locke, and Jason hurriedly left after getting off the car at Qingdu Port:

”They were going to complete a mission. With that card handed over, their task should be complete, and the company would take them safely out of Mexico. How did she get injured?”

Huo Sining also found it odd, but when she tried to call back, Elisa’s Mexican number couldn’t be reached, so she set her doubts aside.

After resting at the hotel for a night, early the next morning, Huo Sining and the others boarded a flight back home. The plane flew directly to the Imperial Capital, and upon disembarking the plane, they saw Qin Tian and Song Hui stretching their necks waiting at the airport.

When Ouyang Jun appeared, the two instantly breathed a long sigh of relief, approached directly, and gave Ouyang Jun a light punch on the shoulder:

”You’ve really got to thank Xu Zi and his wife this time, especially your sister-in-law. She went to rescue you while pregnant, or else you might have lost your life in Mexico!”

Song Hui said as he carried Ouyang Jun’s luggage.

Upon hearing Song Hui’s words, Ouyang Jun finally realized Huo Sining was pregnant, feeling surprised, and quickly turned to look at Huo Sining’s abdomen:

”Your sister-in-law is pregnant? When did it happen? How didn’t I know? It doesn’t show!”

Qin Tian gave Ouyang Jun an annoyed glance, saying: ”What can you see? It’s not even two months yet; at least four or five months to show. The first three months are the danger period; the fetus is unstable. Upon hearing you got into trouble, they rushed to Mexico without even considering the child!”

Ouyang Jun felt deeply moved, and reflecting on the perilous experiences he had in Mexico, a sense of fear lingered. Walking along, he recounted the events to Song Hui and Qin Tian, embellishing dramatically, leaving them baffled.

Returning home to the Ouyang Family, Qin Lianshan and numerous relatives, having already received news, gathered in the courtyard of Ouyang Jun’s home. Seeing Ouyang Jun return safely, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Qin Lianshan leaned on his cane, his eyes turning red upon seeing his grandson return safely, repeatedly saying: ”It’s good you’re back, it’s good you’re back.”

Faced with relatives concerned for him, Ouyang Jun dared not exaggerate, instead subtly touching upon the incident this time. The family members, seeing Ouyang Jun unharmed, didn’t imagine the dangers he faced in Mexico, assuming he just encountered petty thugs like domestic ones, thus not taking it seriously.
