Urban Martial Saint

In the afternoon, Old Fifth Yang rearranged a table to mainly welcome Ye Qing for a meal. Da Fei and Mad Dog stayed at the hospital, worried that He Biao might crazily use Ye’s father to threaten him.

Of course, Old Fifth Yang had also sent people to the hospital, ready to follow any orders from Mad Dog and Da Fei. Old Fifth Yang had a very good information network in Jiuchuan County. What Ye had said to Hou San at Triumphal Arch had long reached his ears. In other words, he knew that right now, Ye stood on the same side as him.

Old Fifth Yang didn’t know what kind of power Ye Qing possessed, but he truly didn’t want to let go of the lucrative opportunity to develop the New District. Ye’s return was like a lifesaver for him. Even though he knew his chances of winning weren’t high, he still wanted to join forces with Ye to struggle a bit.

Driving Ye’s Land Rover, Old Fifth Yang headed straight for his own restaurant. As he got out of the car, he was filled with envy and said, ”Driving this car is really cool, it looks like I really need to buy one someday.”

Ye Qing smiled indifferently; he didn’t have much concept of cars, as he had only recently learned how to drive. Moreover, he didn’t even have a driver’s license yet, so driving was actually driving without a license, and if they encountered traffic police, he would have to switch Mad Dog into the driver’s seat.

As for the quality of the car, he couldn’t tell, he just knew that Li Lianshan’s car looked quite impressive from the outside.

Walking into the lobby, from a distance, he saw Lin Mengjie, the charming manager, standing and smiling inside. Seeing Old Fifth Yang and Ye come in, her smile blossomed even brighter as she approached them and said, ”Ye, you finally came back. You’ve been gone so long without even a call. Did you forget about us?”

”How could I!” Ye Qing replied with a gentle smile and shook his head, turning towards Yuan Xiaoyu who stood next to Lin Mengjie. She was dressed in her lobby manager uniform and had light makeup on, looking rather capable and beautiful. Standing beside Lin Mengjie, although she was not as beautiful, her face seemed much more confident than before.

”That place has been under investigation recently, and it is temporarily closed, so Xiaoyu was transferred over here for the time being.” Old Fifth Yang explained with a smile and looked at Yuan Xiaoyu, saying, ”Xiao Yu, are you getting used to it here? If there’s anything you’re not accustomed to, just tell me, and I will find you a more suitable position!”

Yuan Xiaoyu smiled and said, ”Thank you, Fifth Brother. I feel pretty good here. I can learn a lot from Manager Lin.”

”That’s good!” Old Fifth Yang chuckled and cast a covert glance at Ye Qing. He had placed Yuan Xiaoyu in such a position mainly to honor Ye Qing.

Although Ye Qing did not speak, he also smiled and nodded at Yuan Xiaoyu. In fact, he had no particular fondness for Yuan Xiaoyu before, but after seeing her napping while taking care of his father Ye Changwen at the bedside on the night of his return, his opinion of her changed a lot.

Moreover, no matter what, Yuan Xiaoyu was his sister. Ye Qing had too many enemies in Shenchuan City, so he did not dare to bring his father there. Therefore, the task of caring for his father fell on Yuan Xiaoyu, and he wanted her to live better so she could take good care of his father, Ye Changwen.

Ye Qing followed Old Fifth Yang to a private room on the second floor, with Lin Mengjie accompanying them. Today, she was personally attending to the two of them. In the lobby below, Yuan Xiaoyu was the manager in charge of everything.

No sooner had Lin Mengjie left than several young girls surrounded Yuan Xiaoyu, bombarding her with questions about Ye Qing.

”Xiao Yu, is that your brother?” an excited girl who had never seen Ye Qing asked.

”Yes, I’ve seen him. That’s Xiao Yu’s brother. He’s an ex-Special Forces soldier, he might have fought. You know about Poison Wolf, right? He took a bunch of guys, and Ye beat them all down with just a few punches and kicks, that posture, so cool!” said another girl who had seen Ye Qing, with a starstruck expression.

”Really? An ex-Special Forces soldier, that’s so impressive!”

”It’s not just about being an ex-Special Forces soldier; he’s also a highly educated graduate from Northern University, he even knows French!”

”Yeah, he can drink too, last time he had two bottles of white liquor and was fine!”

”Really? Then... then is he married?”

”I heard from Xiao Yu that he seems to be single still!”

”Is that so? Xiao Yu, how about me being your sister-in-law?”

The girls chattered excitedly, Yuan Xiaoyu feeling as sweet as if she had eaten honey. Having such a brother satisfied her both professionally and in terms of vanity.

”You girls should stop daydreaming; if my brother is looking for a girlfriend, he would definitely look for an absolutely perfect girl!” Yuan Xiaoyu turned around and knocked on the heads of the love-struck girls, saying, ”The woman who can be my sister-in-law will definitely be the most perfect woman in the world!”

The group of girls laughed and giggled. The young girls’ springtime fantasies and their longing for a White Horse Prince all perfectly embodied Ye Qing. However, in their hearts, they also knew that they weren’t the ones who could match up to Ye Qing; they were just indulging in a small fantasy.

Ye Qing and Old Fifth Yang sat down in the room, and Old Fifth Yang asked about Ye Qing’s situation in Shenchuan City. Ye Qing didn’t conceal much and briefly recounted his experiences in Shenchuan City.

After hearing Ye Qing’s story, Old Fifth Yang was astonished. He knew that the situation in Shenchuan City was complicated, but he hadn’t expected that Ye Qing, having only been in Shenchuan City for two months, would run into so many issues one after the other.

Particularly, with Huangfu Ziyu stepping in so forcefully and just one sentence making Ye Qing a billionaire, what a terrifying individual she must be!

”Shenchuan City, I’ve been there before too. Back then, I was young and spent some time with the Fierce Tiger Gang. At that time, Tiger King was at the height of his fame, and I remember him most clearly!” Old Fifth Yang scratched his head and said, ”Back when I was there, the Fierce Tiger Gang hardly counted for anything in Shenchuan City.

But Tiger King managed to elevate the gang to one of the top three in Shenchuan City, which shows the man’s strength. And this Huangfu Ziyu you mentioned, she killed Tiger King so easily... this woman is too terrifying, isn’t she? What kind of woman could possibly be like that?”

”Fifth Brother, there you go underestimating women again!” Lin Mengjie said with a light smile, ”In ancient times, there was even a female emperor, Wu Zetian, and historically, there were many examples of women managing state affairs from behind the screen. The fact proves that women hold up half the sky; why couldn’t there be such terrifying women?”

Old Fifth Yang laughed heartily and pointed at Lin Mengjie, ”Mengjie, what’s this, you also want to become such a woman?”

”I’ve never thought about that; my wishes are very simple,” Lin Mengjie replied, her beautiful eyes not blinking as she stared at Ye Qing, seemingly hinting at something. ”I just want to earn some money and then find a suitable man to marry!”

Ye Qing felt a bit awkward and pretended not to see; he said, ”Fifth Brother, I came back this time mainly for two things. First is the matter of my dad being beaten. That He Biao is really detestable, to lay hands on an elderly man like that; I must seek an explanation from him for this incident. Don’t worry. Since we promised you, agreeing to the demolition, we absolutely won’t go back on our word!”

Old Fifth Yang did not seem pleased by Ye Qing’s words. He just nodded slightly, appearing to be preoccupied with other thoughts.

Seeing him like this, Ye Qing slightly frowned and asked, ”Fifth Brother, are you still worried about the construction in the New District?”

”Ah!” Old Fifth Yang sighed and said, ”Now this matter isn’t something that can be settled by just letting you all demolish. Those original residents are now suing me in the county; the county is asking me for an explanation.

After all is said and done, it’s the new secretary and Old Chen who are arm-wrestling over this, and all I can do is wait here for the outcome of their arm-wrestling; there’s nothing else I can do!”

Ye Qingqi asked, ”Since you’ve won the bid for this project, why would those residents sue you?”

Old Fifth Yang didn’t speak. Lin Mengjie said softly from the side, ”It’s mainly because of what happened to your family. The other residents saw that Fifth Brother compensated your family so handsomely and they felt it wasn’t fair, so they sued in the county.”

”So, that’s what this is about.” Ye Qing smiled and said, ”That’s easy to handle, Fifth Brother; just compensate us according to what they received, and wouldn’t that solve it?”

Old Fifth Yang waved his hands, ”How could that work? I promised you a one hundred and fifty square meter apartment, and I can’t be someone who doesn’t keep his word!”

”Times change, and you’ve got to calm those people down first,” Ye Qing smiled and continued, ”Besides, I’m not giving the apartment back to you for free.”

Old Fifth Yang immediately perked up, ”Right, right, right, how about I give you the cash equivalent?”

Ye Qing shook his head, ”No, if you give me money, this matter can still be leaked, and how would that be any different from giving me an apartment? It’s best if there’s no financial transaction between us; that’s how we shut everyone up!”

”So... what should I do?” Old Fifth Yang looked at Ye Qing urgently, ”Ye brothers, you’ve helped me out; I cannot fail to return the favor!”

”Fifth Brother, if you really want to repay me, then do this!” Ye Qing looked at Old Fifth Yang, ”Lend me some people!”

”Ah?” Old Fifth Yang was stunned, asking, ”What do you mean?”

Ye Qing explained, ”You know I now have ten nightclubs and half a club in Shenchuan City, but I don’t have many people I can trust to help me out there. To run ten nightclubs well, I’d need at least over a hundred people. I think the people from Jiuchuan County that I can trust could do the job. Fifth Brother, could you lend me a batch of people first?”

Old Fifth Yang suddenly understood and said, ”That’s not difficult. How much is the daily turnover for those few nightclubs of yours? Let me calculate how many people you’ll need approximately, and then I’ll help you transfer a group over!”

”Turnover?” Ye Qing scratched his head, ”To be honest, I really don’t know!”

Lin Mengjie couldn’t help but say, ”Oh my goodness, what kind of boss are you? You don’t even know the turnover of your own business; aren’t you afraid the managers underneath you will rip you off?”
