Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing hadn’t expected the three words ”Tie Yongwen” to send Li Lianshan into such a rage. In reality, Ye Qing himself didn’t have much of a reaction. This was because Ye Qing had spent too little time in Shenchuan City; he had only heard of the legend of Tie Yongwen but was far from understanding what the name meant in Shenchuan City.

A legend that had been circulating for more than a decade, an invincible myth, a name that could strike terror into the heart of anyone involved in the underworld.

Just like Li Lianshan said, last time when Tiger King captured Fang Tingyun and Mo Xiang, mentioning Tie Yongwen’s name would have solved everything. There would have been no need for fighting and struggling because Tiger King most certainly wouldn’t dare to offend Tie Yongwen.

No wonder Li Lianshan was so agitated — he wasn’t angry, he was excited. Ye Qing had Tie Yongwen, a powerful figure, behind him. Without mentioning anything else, from now on, no one in Shenchuan City’s underground forces would dare to cross Ye Qing.

Moreover, Tie Yongwen could represent the Ding Family. If the Ding Family supported Ye Qing as well, then Ye Qing could be considered favored by both the legal and illicit worlds. It would only be a matter of time before he ascended to the peak of the underworld in Shenchuan City. How could Li Lianshan not be excited?

In fact, Li Lianshan was unaware that not only did he support Ye Qing, Elder Master Ding had also personally expressed his admiration for Ye Qing. Admiration here meant that he would support Ye Qing.

Furthermore, when Ye Qing was about to return to Jiuchuan County, Elder Master Ding had immediately given him a number to use if the need arose, indicating that Elder Master Ding was truly supporting Ye Qing.

If Li Lianshan knew all this, considering his capacity to handle such shocking news, he would probably need to take some prompt heart relief pills. After all, the news was just too overwhelming!

Li Lianshan muttered, ”Why didn’t you say you knew him earlier, damn it, I’m as exhausted as a dog every day, going out and fighting with people. If I had known we had this connection, I could’ve just dropped a name and saved all the trouble. Why even fight?”

With an aggrieved look, Ye Qing said, ”I... I just met him recently...”

Li Lianshan glared and retorted, ”Damn, stop bullshitting. You’ve only met him recently, yet he’s already offering to help you hold down these venues. Do you really think you’re irresistible to all, both men and women?”

Ye Qing helplessly shrugged his shoulders, knowing explanations were futile at that moment, and waved his hand, ”Let’s not talk about that now. Li, I’ll leave the management of the venues to you, how about that?”

”Don’t worry, as long as no one comes causing trouble, managing a venue is a piece of cake!” Li Lianshan paused, then added, ”But when you’re free, could you take me to meet Old Master Tie? I’m telling you, ever since I heard about Old Master Tie, he’s been my biggest idol. I’ve been thriving in Shenchuan City for all these years, but I’ve never had the chance to meet him.

You have to make this dream come true for me!”

Ye Qing hadn’t expected Li Lianshan to be so starstruck, and he hastily agreed. If he didn’t, Li Lianshan would probably grumble for hours, and even if Ye Qing returned to Jiuchuan County, Li Lianshan might well call him just to keep nagging about it.

Seeing Ye Qing agree, Li Lianshan suddenly acted like a kid, smiling goofily as he sat on the chair, already forgetting about everything else.

Ye Qing ignored him, turning to Black Bear, and said, ”Black Bear, you stay in Shenchuan City to look after the venues here. Pay special attention to the orphanage, and be more vigilant. The locals there aren’t very friendly. If there’s any trouble, call Cheng Shuang directly!”

”Yes!” Black Bear crisply responded, choosing to obey Ye Qing’s orders without question.

”Mad Dog, go get ready, find someone who can drive, and come with me to Jiuchuan County!”

Ye Qing had this arrangement in mind primarily because he wanted to leave someone behind in Shenchuan City who could firmly hold down the fort. Without a doubt, Black Bear was such a person, and Mad Dog was loyal and quick-witted, which would make conducting affairs convenient when returning to Jiuchuan County.

Mad Dog was somewhat embarrassed and said, ”Big Brother, none of my brothers... besides me, none of them know how to drive...”

”Do you want me to arrange a driver for you?” Li Lianshan shouted from the side.

After pondering for a moment, Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”No need, Black Bear, call Da Fei and see if he’s available.”

By now, Da Fei was wholeheartedly devoted to Ye Qing. Receiving Black Bear’s call, he immediately agreed without hesitation. Plus, this guy had a driver’s license, could drive, and was clever—working with Ye Qing was very convenient.

Having confirmed the candidate, Ye Qing gave a few more instructions for things in Shenchuan City and then immediately set off on the journey. He even drove Li Lianshan’s Land Rover, as the roads in Jiuchuan County were mountainous, making an off-road vehicle more practical.

Ye Qing and Mad Dog headed for Eryao Town. Da Fei was already waiting, tidy and carrying a bag. Seeing him like this, Mad Dog couldn’t help but say, ”Damn, we’re not going on a vacation, why bring clothes? Just leave them at home and buy a few more sets when we get there!”

”Ah?” Da Fei hesitated for a moment and said, ”It’s... is it okay? All my clothes here are wearable. Besides, buying new clothes would be quite expensive, right?”

Leaning out from behind, Ye Qing said, ”Once we get to Jiuchuan County, I’ll give you two thousand yuan to buy a few sets of clothes. Don’t bother bringing these.”

Da Fei was overjoyed, immediately tossing his clothes back into the room and excitedly leaping into the car, exclaiming, ”Big brother, Brother Gou, why are we going to Jiuchuan County? Is it fun there? I’ve never been there. Growing up, the farthest I’ve ever been is Shenchuan City, I haven’t even been to the nearest cities!”

Ye Qing and Mad Dog were speechless. This guy really was a bumpkin, always cooped up here, no wonder he was so thrilled about going out.

On the road, Ye Qing gave him a rough run-down of what was happening at home. After hearing Ye Qing’s story, Da Fei became righteously indignant and said, ”Big brother, rest assured, leave this matter to me. Once we get there, I’ll buy a couple of knives and sort out whoever beat up our uncle first!”

”Would you just shut up!” Ye Qing snapped, ”No matter what, they are still my uncles!”

”Ah, I... I forgot about that...” Da Fei awkwardly covered his mouth, thought for a while, and then said, ”Then... then this is going to be difficult to handle!”

Ye Qing was also frowning. Matters involving family were truly difficult to resolve. However, Ye Qing had already prepared himself. If those uncles really wanted to play dirty, then Ye Qing was not going to regard them as relatives anymore!

The trip from Shenchuan City to Pingnan Province was not short; it would take a whole day by train. Driving was a bit faster, but even so, it wasn’t until the next evening that they finally entered the territory of Pingnan Province. Fortunately, the three of them took turns driving and resting, which wasn’t too tiring. However, sitting in a car for a long time was never very comfortable.

Mad Dog alternated between driving and sleeping the whole way, while Da Fei seemed curious about everything around him. He only slept for six hours, spending the rest of the time gazing at the scenery outside, especially beautiful or unique landscapes, immediately pulling out a point-and-shoot camera from who-knows-where to start taking pictures.

If not for his sloppy demeanor, one might have mistaken him for a photographer.

Ye Qing, on the other hand, was worried the whole time, anxious about his father’s situation, which made his mood gloomy throughout the trip. They barely entered Dengyang City, and only then did Ye Qing’s mood lighten a bit. With their current speed, they would reach Jiuchuan County in roughly two hours.

When Mad Dog woke up and saw Ye Qing driving, he whispered, ”Big brother, you rest a bit, let me drive.”

”No need!” Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”We’ve already left the highway, this is a national road, you guys aren’t familiar with these roads, it’s better if I drive. We’re about to reach Jiuchuan County, it’s only a short distance, no problem.”

Mad Dog nodded, sat down beside Ye Qing, and comforted him, ”Big brother, Uncle Ye will definitely be fine. Fortune favors the brave, don’t worry too much!”

Ye Qing sighed softly. He couldn’t help but worry. His brother Ye Jun’s life was uncertain, and the likelihood of death was even higher. With his father being in such a predicament, the two most important family members in his life were in danger. The fact that he was able to drive so calmly was already quite an accomplishment.

If it were anyone else, they would probably be so anxious that they might have driven the car into a ditch by now.

”Big brother, what’s that?” Suddenly, Da Fei, sitting in the back, pointed toward the road ahead and exclaimed.

Ye Qing looked carefully and saw a man dressed in a police uniform ahead on the road, gesturing for them from a distance.

”It’s the traffic police, telling us to stop,” Mad Dog frowned and said in a low voice, ”Big brother, you don’t have a license, let me drive.”

Ye Qing nodded, slowed down the car, and slid his seat back a bit. Mad Dog readied himself beside him, and suddenly, Ye Qing flipped over from his seat and Mad Dog smoothly jumped into the driver’s seat, easily taking control of the steering wheel.

They had finished all this when they were still more than thirty meters away from the traffic officer, giving Mad Dog enough time to pose and slowly stop the car in front of the police officer.

The traffic officer was a man in his thirties with a dark complexion. He came over and casually glanced inside the car, and then glared at Mad Dog, saying, ”Do you know you were speeding just now?”

Mad Dog didn’t know if they had been speeding, but Ye Qing had indeed been driving anxiously and quite fast on this stretch of the road.

Mad Dog replied with a forced smile, ”Big brother, I’m really sorry. There’s a bit of an emergency at home and I’m in a rush to get back. I didn’t see the speed limit sign, I’m truly sorry.”

The traffic officer glared at him and said, ”Sorry for what? Speeding is speeding, that’s a violation. What do you mean? Just because you have an emergency at home, you can break the law? Who made that rule?”

Mad Dog was extremely embarrassed, continuing with his ingratiating smile, ”Big brother, I really am sorry. We’ve got a real emergency at home, so I drove a bit hastily. Could you please resolve this quickly? I’m in a rush to go back, my dad’s in the hospital.”

”No matter how urgent it is, you must follow the procedure!” The traffic officer waved his hand impatiently and said, ”Come, follow me to process the paperwork!”

”Process paperwork? What paperwork?” Mad Dog was astonished. In Shenchuan City, if you broke traffic laws you would just get a ticket; since when did you have to go through some procedure?
