Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing said, ”I have ten nightclubs in Shenchuan City and one club. I’m also starting a private orphanage soon, so it’s a bit inconvenient for me to turn over funds. Around ten million yuan might keep things running for a while, but it might not be enough.”

Everything Ye Qing said was completely true, but to Liang Xuepeng and the others, it seemed like pure boasting.

How much a nightclub is worth, Liang Xuepeng didn’t know. But he figured it must be no less than one million yuan each. Ten nightclubs, that would be ten million yuan. And there’s a club—how much was that worth? Most importantly, a private orphanage? What’s a private orphanage?

He had never even heard of such a thing before! Even public orphanages were rarely seen!

Liang Xuepeng thought so, and the other members of the Liang family had the same mindset, convinced that Ye Qing was just bluffing.

”Qingzi, it’s better to be down-to-earth when you live your life!” Liang Xuepeng patted Ye Qing’s shoulder and said, ”Young man, you have plenty of time and opportunities. The key is to be able to calm down, work hard, and build a life. Just like your Fourth Uncle, he made it step by step, steadily.

If you want to achieve something, you have to be like your Fourth Uncle, cunning tricks are of no use!”

”Right, and you talk to your uncle like that?” Liang Xuewen, who was worldly-wise, said, ”A nightclub in Shenchuan City, what would that be worth? Even in Jiuchuan County, a nightclub would have to be worth at least two hundred million yuan, right? Your nightclubs in Shenchuan City must be worth no less than five hundred million each. Ten nightclubs, that’s five hundred million yuan.

Qingzi, are you trying to make your uncle laugh?”

”So, you’re saying you don’t want to lend it?” Ye Qing stood up immediately and said, ”Then there’s nothing more to say, I’ll be going back now.”

”Qingzi, don’t rush off!” Liang Xuepeng grabbed Ye Qing and said, ”I know it’s not easy for you young people starting businesses, and it’s normal to have crooked thoughts. If you’re short on money, your uncle can tell you how to make some. Come on, sit, sit!”

Liang Xuepeng pushed Ye Qing back into his seat and said, ”Qingzi, you know about the things your dad and your uncle went through a few days ago, right?”

Ye Qing looked quietly at Liang Xuepeng and said, ”Are you talking about the incident where you hit my dad?”

Liang Xuepeng’s face was full of embarrassment, he coughed to cover it up and said, ”Not that incident, I’m talking about the money we lent your family when you bought this house initially. Qingzi, I know you must think we, your uncles, are too harsh. Your mother has passed away, and we’re still clinging to that debt. Actually, Qingzi, you’ve misunderstood us!”

As Liang Xuepeng spoke, he covered his face with one hand, making a sorrowful expression and said, ”Qingzi, you know that house was bought by your mom and dad together. Which means, that house, half of it belongs to your mother. Truthfully, properties like this house will ultimately belong to you and Junzi when your dad is old, and we’ve no complaints about that.

But the current situation is different. Your dad found another woman—a fox spirit—and even brought over two kids. Look at the situation now. You and Junzi, plus that fox spirit’s two kids, wouldn’t you have to split the house equally?”

”Originally, the house was supposed to be split half between you and Junzi. But now with two more people around, how much can you both keep? Under these circumstances, don’t we, your uncles, have to worry about you two?” Liang Xuepeng lamented with a heavy sigh, appearing deeply troubled, and said, ”We, as uncles, really want what’s best for you.

In order to leave more of the house for you, to allow your mom to rest in peace in Heaven, we even thickened our faces and came to talk to your dad about it. Who knew, he wouldn’t discuss it properly with us and even wanted to hit us. Your uncle’s temper isn’t good. When he got irritated, I didn’t give him face. Qingzi, this matter, in the end, it’s all for you!”

”Is that so?” Ye Qing said coldly with a smile, ”So, I should be thanking you, shouldn’t I?”

”No need to thank us, this is what we, as your uncles, should do!” Liang Xuepeng patted Ye Qing’s shoulder and said, ”The main reason we called you here today was to talk about this. You’re the eldest son and the pillar of the family. With the current situation at home, and your dad not knowing how long he’ll live, you need to secure what’s yours first.

Qingzi, you’re not young anymore; it’s time you think about yourself!”

Ye Qing glanced sideways at Liang Xuepeng and said, ”You want me to get hold of the house?”

”Exactly, it’s an heirloom your mom left for you!” Liang Xuepeng looked sorrowful but was secretly overjoyed because he felt Ye Qing was already biting the bait.

”And after I get hold of it?” Ye Qing asked, ”My dad has signed a contract with Boss Yang, and the house is already slated for demolition. What use is it to take it over?”

”That’s where you’re mistaken,” Liang Xuepeng laughed and said, ”Once the house is in your hands, as long as you don’t agree to the demolition, Old Fifth Yang won’t be able to start construction!”

Ye Qing shrugged and said, ”It’s a county project, what good would my disagreement do?”

Liang Xuepeng excitedly said, ”Don’t worry about that; as long as you’re the owner of the house, just your refusal to agree to the demolition is enough. Leave everything else to us!”

”Oh?” Ye Qing looked Liang Xuepeng up and down and said, ”So what you’re saying is you want to obstruct Boss Yang’s project progress, right?”

”Uh...” Liang Xuepeng originally wanted to deny it, but considering that his son had already been severely interrogated by Ye Qing and Ye Qing knew a lot about the situation, he no longer hid anything.

”Qingzi, to be honest, we really don’t want that bastard Old Fifth Yang to take on this project!” Liang Xuepeng said, ”On our end, everything has been settled. As soon as you hand over the house, we’ll immediately give you two hundred thousand, so you can buy another place in the county town. When the compensation comes, you’ll get more money for your house. How does that sound?”

Ye Qingqi said, ”Why does it have to be my family’s house? Why don’t you go after someone else’s house?”

Liang Xuepeng said, ”In this area, your house is the only one that hasn’t signed the demolition consent contract. Everyone else has signed; their houses are useless now!”

”I see!” Ye Qing nodded slowly and said, ”What’s in it for you to do this?”

”What could be in it for us? Qingzi, you’re our nephew; whatever we do, of course, we have to consider you!” Liang Xuepeng said with a smile, ”Qingzi, two hundred thousand! How long would it take you to earn that much money?”

Ye Qing thought for a moment and said, ”Two hundred thousand? Probably a little over an hour, I guess!”

The people of the Liang Family exchanged glances, wondering to themselves if Ye Qing had gone mad with his nonsensical talk.

In fact, Ye Qing was right. His ten nightclubs would earn a six-figure sum each hour after opening for the night, and that didn’t even include the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena. Two hundred thousand was truly nothing to the current Ye Qing. It’s just a pity that when people tell the truth, there are often very few who believe them.

”Qingzi, with two hundred thousand, you can buy a place in a quieter part of the county town. With the additional compensation, that’s enough for you to start a business. You’ll undoubtedly be a well-off family later on.” Patting Ye Qing on the shoulder, Liang Xuepeng said, ”Your uncle is looking out for you. You can’t just watch as that belongs to you is snatched away by those two wild kids, right?”

”Thanks for your kindness!” Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”However, I’d rather not have a conversation with people who bully my family. So, sorry, but I’ll take my leave now!”

Ye Qing stood up and headed straight for the door. The people of the Liang Family were taken aback, seeing Ye Qing about to leave, Liang Xuepeng abruptly stood up and urged, ”Qingzi, wait a minute!”

Ye Qing turned his head and looked at Liang Xuepeng quietly. He knew that He Biao had definitely planned more than just sending Liang Xuepeng to persuade him; there had to be other plans in store. Ye Qing had come to confront the people of the Liang Family to see exactly what He Biao had arranged, wanting to have a direct confrontation with He Biao himself first.

Liang Xuepeng stood up, his brow deeply furrowed as he looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Qingzi, after all, we’re your uncles. Isn’t it rather impolite of you to just leave like this?”

Ye Qing replied, ”I’m sorry, but in my eyes, none of you qualify as my relatives!”

Liang Xuepeng became furious, pointing at Ye Qing and cursing, ”Ye Qing, you unfilial curse!”

”Liang Xuepeng, I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt because you’re my mother’s brother. I can pretend the incident with my father didn’t happen. But you only get this chance once. From the moment you hit my dad, the relationship between the Ye family and you has been severed.

So, be careful with your words!” Ye Qing looked calmly at Liang Xuepeng, speaking deliberately, ”Curse again, and I won’t be polite anymore!”

”Fuck, you’re not going to be polite? What can you do, hit me? Oh wow, I’m so scared, don’t you dare injure me!” Liang Xuepeng laughed out loud and said, ”Look at you, a real chip off the old block. Damn, the harder you’re pressed, the more hostile you get. I’m trying to talk nicely to you, and you’re not listening, forcing me to get angry, right?

I’m telling you, now that you’re here today, it’s settled. If you’re unwilling to hand over that house to us, then we’ll just call your dad and have him bring it over. He’s only got you left for a son, and to exchange that house for you, I think he wouldn’t be too reluctant!”

Ye Qing frowned and glanced at everyone, saying, ”So, are you saying you want to kidnap me?”

”That’s right, to kidnap you!” Along with a cold voice, the door of a small side room suddenly opened, and six or seven burly men rushed out.

The leader was a man in his twenties or thirties with a flat-top haircut, looking fierce and menacing.

Seeing these men, Liang Xuepeng immediately nodded and bowed, saying, ”Ah, Third Brother, you came in person. How is it, Boss He didn’t come? Look, I’ve done as Boss He ordered, but this kid won’t listen to me, it’s not that I don’t want to help. This money of ours, you see...”
