Urban Martial Saint

”Hahaha…” Tie Yongwen laughed aloud again, patting Ye Qing on the shoulder, and said, ”Good, a true man. Third Brother indeed chose the right person.”

”However…” Tie Yongwen’s tone changed as he continued, ”With your current strength, even if you really wish to fight to the death, the Xihang Shen Family would definitely not let their nets break. Moreover, there’s a problem with the Bajiquan you’re learning. Although you’re extremely talented, continuing this way, you will ultimately not become the strongest.”

”Why?” Ye Qing was surprised. His boxing technique was personally passed down by the Northern Fist King, so how could there be a problem?

Tie Yongwen pinched Ye Qing’s shoulder, explaining, ”You have rootless bones in your shoulder, which makes your physique suitable for martial arts but not for Bajiquan. Hence, when Third Brother taught you the technique, he modified the Bajiquan a bit before passing it on to you.

Otherwise, the real Li Style Bajiquan is too fierce; if you fully trained in it, I’m afraid your body would have broken down long ago.”

In fact, Tie Yongwen had noticed something when he saw Ye Qing fighting Jin Yi Nan from Stick Country. Ye Qing’s Bajiquan closely resembled Li Style Bajiquan, but there were slight differences. That was why, upon entering the house, he immediately pinched Ye Qing’s shoulder and indeed found the reason, which led him to make that comment.

Ye Qing felt a deep sense of astonishment, recalling the two women, Poisonous Mantis and Fire Butterfly, who were only two or three years older than him, yet their strength far surpassed his. Even though they had trained from a young age, the difference was terrifying.

He hadn’t realized why such a gap existed between them and him until Tie Yongwen brought it up, and now he finally understood the reason.

”You can’t reach a higher realm by continuing with Li Style Bajiquan. Thus, you must switch to a different boxing technique,” Tie Yongwen stated. ”Fortunately, the foundation Third Brother laid for you back then is solid. Now, if you start training in another technique, you can make significant breakthroughs in a short period.”

”Switch to another boxing technique?” Ye Qing asked, ”Which technique should I practice?”

”Northern Fist involves broad and aggressive movements, while Southern Fist is compact, focusing on close and rapid attacks. Given your physical condition, it’s more appropriate to train in Southern Fist,” Tie Yongwen suggested. ”There’s a simple yet effective technique within Southern Fist called Wing Chun. If you master it, your future accomplishments will undoubtedly be substantial.

However, Wing Chun is authentically practiced only by the Xihang Shen Family and that girl from the Huangfu Household in Dongzhou. To learn it, you’d have to see if an opportunity arises. However, our Xingyi Boxing School also has Northern and Southern distinctions; my Southern Xingyi Fist has lost some of its ferocity and is more suitable for you to practice!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing immediately knelt down and said, ”Disciple pays respects to Master!”

”Hahaha…” Tie Yongwen laughed and helped Ye Qing to his feet, saying, ”Five years ago, I already accepted a closed-door disciple and won’t be taking any more disciples. Besides, you’re Third Brother’s disciple, so I don’t have the right to teach you. If you want to experience Xingyi Quan, you can visit me for a sparring session whenever you’re free.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen Third Brother’s Bajiquan, and I could use the practice.”

With those words, Tie Yongwen indicated to Ye Qing that he wasn’t qualified to accept him as a disciple, but he could teach him Xingyi Quan!

Moved, Ye Qing bowed, saying, ”In that case, I’ll likely be troubling Uncle Tie in the future.”

”It’s no trouble, but I do have a favor to ask,” Tie Yongwen paused, then continued, ”I know you still harbor resentment towards what Ding Shaoyan did, but he is ultimately part of the Ding Family. Regarding the matter with Wang Lili, I’ll speak to Elder Master Ding myself and ensure the Ding Family disciplines him, giving you a satisfactory response.

How about you leave this matter to me instead of confronting him directly?”

Ye Qing replied, ”As long as the Ding Family provides a resolution, I’ll listen to Uncle Tie!”

”Don’t worry,” Tie Yongwen assured, ”I stake my reputation that the Ding Family will definitely give you a satisfactory response!”

Ye Qing nodded. With Tie Yongwen’s assurance, he felt much more at ease. In fact, he had been concerned about this issue. He was currently establishing a private orphanage in Shenchuan City and managing many venues, truly unable to afford a direct confrontation with the Ding Family. If Tie Yongwen could obtain that resolution for him, that would indeed be a relief.

After chatting with Tie Yongwen for a while, Ye Qing finally understood why Tie Yongwen held Third Master Li in such high regard. In his youth, Tie Yongwen had been looked after by Third Master Li several times and even had his life saved by him twice.

Furthermore, after Third Master Li became famous, his care for him increased, leading to Tie Yongwen’s current status as the Sect Leader of Southern Xingyi Fist. Without Third Master Li, his life would have ended long ago, let alone reaching such a respected position today. His feelings towards Third Master Li were nothing but gratitude and respect.

Now that Third Master Li had passed away, he redirected all that gratitude towards Third Master Li’s successor. In his conversations, he went to great lengths to care for Ye Qing and even inquired about Ye Jun’s matters. As for Ye Qing’s current activities, he didn’t disapprove at all, considering many in the Ding Family were involved in similar industries.

Moreover, he could see that Ye Qing, with his benevolent nature, would definitely not engage in reprehensible activities, even if he was running such entertainment venues.

”It’s great that the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena has become your property,” Tie Yongwen smiled. ”Whenever the dog arena opens, remember to send me an invitation!”

”Uncle Tie’s willingness to attend is really bringing glory to the Southern Suburbs Dogfight Arena!” Ye Qing was overjoyed. Li Lianshan had been worried that there would be no key figures to support the opening of the arena, fearing troublemakers. But now that Tie Yongwen had personally agreed to come, he was truly a heavyweight.

By then, not to mention the Blessing Sky Blue Gang, even if others had the guts, they definitely wouldn’t dare to make trouble in front of Tie Yongwen.

The most crucial part was that Tie Yongwen had always been a mythic figure in Shenchuan City over the years. Many had heard legends about him, but few had seen him in person. In everyone’s mind, he was just the Ding Family’s bodyguard. Now, if he could attend the opening of the dogfight arena, what a great honor that would be!

After chatting with Tie Yongwen for a while, he mostly inquired about Third Master Li’s past. Hearing that he had settled in a small mountain village, Tie Yongwen couldn’t help but sigh repeatedly. A grandmaster of Li Style Bajiquan, to end up dying silently in that little village, was indeed a great pity.

Tie Yongwen spent over two hours in Tian Sheng, talking a lot with Ye Qing until he reluctantly left in the early morning. For twenty years, he had been seeking news about Third Master Li with no reply. Finally meeting the successor of Third Master Li, how could he not be excited?

After sending off Tie Yongwen, Ye Qing also felt greatly relieved. With Tie Yongwen mediating the grievances with the Ding Family. Now, the only ones left to deal with were the Fang Family, who were easier to handle compared to the Ding Family. Moreover, now that Ye Qing had the strong backing of Tie Yongwen, he could finally get a firm foothold in Shenchuan City.

Now that things here were mostly settled, Ye Qing was considering whether to go home for a visit in the next few days. Firstly, to bring some people over to help, and secondly, having been away for such a long time, it really was time to go back. However, the only regret was that he couldn’t take his brother Ye Jun back with him, which made Ye Qing feel very sad.

The ashes of those bodies were still being analyzed, and among the tested parts, there was no trace of Ye Jun. To this day, Ye Jun’s fate remained unknown, and what would become of him was still uncertain. However, Ye Qing’s mindset was much better than before. As long as he hadn’t seen Ye Jun’s ashes, there was still hope for life, and Ye Qing would continue his search!

The next morning, Ye Qing rushed to Eryao Town early, where the children were all settled in. Early in the morning, the Huang couple made a large pot of food, placed tables in two rows in the yard, and seventy to eighty children sat beside the tables, a rather impressive sight.

Fortunately, the children ate quietly; they had been too hungry before. Now able to eat properly was truly a blessing for them. Every child sat quietly at the table, even those as young as four or five years old, and this pleased the elderly Huangs immensely.

”Uncle Ye!” A sharp-eyed child saw Ye Qing and immediately cheered. All the children looked over and, seeing Ye Qing, burst into excited cheers.

These children were all rescued by Ye Qing, and he had arranged everything for them during this time. To these children, Ye Qing was like their parent, and seeing him brought them indescribable joy.

Ye Qing walked to the table and held a cute little girl in his arms, smiling, ”Ah, Ya Ya, how come you’ve gotten heavier again!”

”Grandpa Huang’s cooking is delicious, I ate a lot!” the little girl said sweetly.

”Hahaha...” Huang Fulin couldn’t help but laugh loudly, her words as sweet as honey to his heart.

”Boss Ye, these children are really too adorable!” Huang Fulin said. ”I have a rather bold request, may I speak it?”

”Uncle Huang, please feel free to speak,” Ye Qing smiled.

”Once the orphanage here is finished, could I come here to work?” Huang Fulin asked. ”I know I’m not very handy, and I don’t ask for a salary, just room and board. Just being with the children is all that matters!”

Ye Qing laughed, saying, ”Uncle Huang, if you are willing to stay here, I truly couldn’t ask for more. Having you look after these children would give me even more peace of mind. As for the salary, we’ll give you a normal wage, how does that sound?”

”Money isn’t the issue, being with these children is what matters!” Huang Fulin looked fondly at the children around him and said, ”Your aunt and I are getting on in years, we don’t need the money. Being more with the children is like enjoying our twilight years!”
