Urban Martial Saint

As soon as Liu Dingjun finished speaking, several policemen immediately surrounded Ye Qing, one of them reaching out to grab the collar of Ye Qing’s shirt.

Ye Qing pushed the hand away, infuriating the policemen, one of whom cursed, ”Do you fucking think you can resist arrest? Come on, try to block me again, try blocking me again!”

As he spoke, this time he directly reached out for Ye Qing’s neck. Meanwhile, another policeman raised his baton, seemingly ready to strike Ye Qing if he made another move.

Ye Qing felt some anger, as these actions revealed the true nature of these policemen. No wonder Da Fei was afraid of them; it seemed in everyday life, it was indeed these men who exploited the villagers.

The policeman’s hand failed to reach Ye Qing’s neck, so Ye Qing immediately grabbed his wrist and twisted it lightly, causing the policeman to cry out in pain.

”Fuck your mother, daring to attack the police!” The policeman with the baton shouted and swung it hard towards Ye Qing’s head.

This policeman was extremely vicious, not to mention the force behind the swing, which was aimed directly at the head. A blow like that could have caused a concussion. Was such treatment necessary when, at most, Ye Qing’s offense was a mere fight?

Resenting the excessive force, Ye Qing saw the baton coming down and stepped back, pulling another policeman in front of him. The baton continued, striking the policeman’s arm and making him cry out in pain.

”You motherfucker, still trying to dodge? I’ll kill you...” roared the policeman with the baton, lifting it to strike Ye Qing again.

Ye Qing casually threw the policeman he was holding at the one with the baton, causing the latter to stumble back several steps and fall to the ground.

The policemen were extremely infuriated and began shouting as they moved toward Ye Qing. Seeing the situation deteriorating, Huang Fulin hurriedly stepped forward and blocked the policemen, smiling, ”Director Liu, it’s just a small misunderstanding here, just a verbal dispute, nothing serious, no need for this, right?”

”It was indeed just a fight,” Liu Dingjun glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”but now the situation is different. He’s resisting arrest, assaulting an officer, these are serious charges!”

Huang Fulin said, ”Director Liu, what Boss Ye did was merely in self-defense. Besides, when you policemen come to handle things, you must proceed by proper procedures, how can you just start hitting people?”

Liu Dingjun immediately glared and said, ”Old man, what the fuck are you talking about? What do you mean we started hitting people? It was Ye who started it by attacking the police first, are you fucking blind? Didn’t see it?”

”Hey, how dare you speak to the elderly like that?” Huo Pingping angrily exclaimed from the side.

”Shut your bitch mouth, it’s none of your business, shut up!” Liu Dingjun glared at her and pointed, ”Keep advocating for the suspect and see if I don’t throw you in jail!”

Huo Pingping, known for her fiery temper, obviously wouldn’t be intimidated by Liu Dingjun’s few words and immediately shouted back, ”Arrest me? On what grounds? What, can’t people even talk now? Are you police or the mafia? A bunch of good-for-nothings, never see you working hard to catch thieves, but when it’s about bullying poor people, you’re all tough, what scum!”

Enraged, Liu Dingjun pointed at Huo Pingping and ordered, ”Such audacity, you dare insult the police, take her away too!”

Several policemen smirked and moved towards Huo Pingping, their lust for her beauty having already been aroused. This chance for close contact was something they all wanted to seize.

Huang Fulin hurriedly stood in front of Huo Pingping and said, ”Director Liu, she’s just a girl, why take it so seriously? Maybe...”

”Get out of the way!” One policeman pushed Huang Fulin aside, and he fell to the ground.

”Uncle Huang!” Huo Pingping was shocked and hurried over to help him up, exclaiming, ”What are you doing hitting an old man?”

Ye Qing also turned cold; he had been hoping to delay things until Zhao Chengshuang could arrange everything. But these policemen were too arrogant. Eryao Town surely felt remote from the Emperor’s reach, with these policemen acting like they could do anything.

”Stop!” Ye Qing shouted and suddenly ran out from the encirclement of policemen, heading straight for Huo Pingping, blocking the policemen trying to grab her.

”Asking for a beating!” The leading policeman cursed and kicked at Ye Qing.

Ye Qing, resenting that he had pushed Huang Fulin down, kicked back mercilessly, hitting him right in the chest. The policeman flew back, collapsing to the ground without even the strength to scream, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, his ribs shattered by Ye Qing’s kick.

The surrounding policemen were momentarily stunned, and so was Liu Dingjun, taken aback by the ferocity of Ye Qing’s response. However, he reacted quickly, pulling out the gun from his waist and aiming it directly at Ye Qing.

”Dare to attack the police, I’ll kill you!” Liu Dingjun shouted loudly.

”Director Liu, don’t shoot!” Huang Fulin hurriedly shouted.

Liu Dingjun arrogantly said, ”Cut the crap, if he dares to attack the police, even if I kill him, it’s all done by the book!”

”You dare touch him and see!” Huo Pingping yelled, ”If you dare to shoot, I’ll dare to report this to the city. I’d like to see how you explain it to your superiors!”

”Damn it, you think I’m scared?” Although Liu Dingjun said this, he still didn’t dare to shoot. If he shot Ye Qing over this matter, he wouldn’t be able to explain it to his superiors either.

”This assault on police, even if it’s escalated to the provincial department, I’m not afraid!” Liu Dingjun pointed his gun at Ye Qing and said, ”You’d better cooperate and come with me for questioning. Otherwise, my gun doesn’t show mercy!”

”You motherfucker, can’t you even see as a person?” An angry voice suddenly came out from afar. Liu Dingjun turned his head and saw several police cars approaching from a distance. The head poking out from the frontmost police car was none other than Eryao Town’s police station chief, Li Wenping, whose face bore a look of anger, unclear who had provoked him.

Li Wenping was transferred from another place, whereas Liu Dingjun was a local of Eryao Town. Thus, despite Li Wenping being the chief, Liu Dingjun has never taken him seriously. After all, without Liu Dingjun’s help, Li Wenping would surely have a hard time working in Eryao Town.

Thus, for such a long time, although Liu Dingjun was only the deputy chief, in reality, he almost overshadowed Li Wenping at the station.

Now hearing Li Wenping’s words, Liu Dingjun immediately frowned. Waiting for Li Wenping to get out of the car, he glared and said, ”Director Li, was it you speaking just now?”

”Yes, I said it!” Li Wenping replied straightforwardly.

Liu Dingjun was stunned for a moment, as Li Wenping had never dared to offend him before. What was happening today?

During Liu Dingjun’s bewilderment, Li Wenping walked straight to Ye Qing and said, ”You must be Mr. Ye Qing. Hello, I am Li Wenping, the police chief of Eryao Town!”

Ye Qing shook hands with Li Wenping politely. Seeing Li Wenping’s attitude, he knew that Zhao Chengshuang had already made arrangements.

”Director Li, what is this all about?” Liu Dingjun mockingly said from the side, ”This Mr. Ye assaulted our townsfolk in Eryao Town for no reason. I was bringing him in for questioning when he resisted arrest and attacked the police, causing injuries to several officers. Now, instead of arresting him, you’re fraternizing with him. How much of a bribe did you take?”

Liu Dingjun had never really regarded Li Wenping, so he spoke without restraint, not caring about Li Wenping’s feelings at all.

Li Wenping let out a cold laugh, turned to Liu Dingjun, and suddenly gestured, ”Disarm him!”

Several police officers immediately rushed over while Liu Dingjun took a step back and exclaimed, ”Damn, what are you doing?”

Liu Dingjun’s subordinates also quickly surrounded him, having been with Liu Dingjun for so long, they too never took Li Wenping seriously.

”What?” Li Wenping sneered, ”I just received orders from the city bureau to suspend your duty as deputy chief of Eryao Town’s police station and have you come to the city bureau to assist with an investigation regarding some cases related to you.”

”What?” Liu Dingjun’s face changed drastically, and so did Liu Yibing who also shivered. He had brought Liu Dingjun here to intimidate Ye Qing, expecting Ye Qing to bribing him. Little did he expect that Liu Dingjun would fail to suppress Ye Qing and instead caused such a mess. If Liu Dingjun were really dismissed, Liu Yibing would be doomed as well.

”Huh, don’t you understand? From now on, you’re no longer the deputy chief of the Eryao Town police station. You’ve lost your position in the police force!” Li Wenping replied with a cold smile, feeling extremely relieved. Previously, he couldn’t suppress Liu Dingjun because he wasn’t sure that he could completely defeat him.

But this time, with direct orders from the city bureau to clean him up, it felt like a chance to clear his past humiliations.

On his way here, Li Wenping, after much inquiry, learned that the order came from Zhao Chengshuang who was about to be promoted as the deputy director of the division. Although Zhao Chengshuang was in the provincial department, his orders were carried out as swiftly as those from several of the city bureau’s deputy directors, and they were quickly passed down.

Moreover, Li Wenping learned through colleagues in the city about the relationship between Ye Qing and Zhao Chengshuang, and he immediately understood what was really going on.

”Why? Why?” Liu Dingjun shouted angrily, ”Impossible! Impossible! Li Wenping, you must be spreading lies. How could this be? It’s simply impossible!”

”Whether it’s possible or not, you’ll know once you’re at the city bureau. My main job now is to bring you in!” Li Wenping gestured and ordered, ”Put handcuffs on him!”

Liu Dingjun also shouted furiously, ”Stop them!”

The policemen beside Liu Dingjun hesitated. If Liu Dingjun was indeed dismissed, then, if they continued to resist Li Wenping on behalf of Liu Dingjun, they would probably end up in trouble as well.

Li Wenping looked at the few men around Liu Dingjun and said, ”What Liu Dingjun did doesn’t involve you. The city bureau is only investigating him. You’d better not get involved!”

The policemen glanced at each other and slowly backed away. Liu Dingjun, furious, was about to speak when he was suddenly pounced on and pinned to the ground by Li Wenping’s men.
