Urban Martial Saint

Hearing these words, Elder Master Ding was taken aback and set down his hoe to walk over and sit down on the chair, saying, ”What happened to your Uncle Tie?”

Ding Xiangyun’s eyes were slightly red as she said, ”Dad, Uncle Tie... he broke Shao Yan’s three meridians. I’m afraid Shao Yan will be disabled for life!”

Elder Master Ding frowned, glanced at Ding Xiangyun, and said in a deep voice, ”What are you trying to say?”

”Dad, you probably don’t know what happened,” Ding Xiangyun continued, ”Shao Yan was misled by a classmate surnamed Fang and carelessly did something wrong. Shao Yan already regretted it a lot, but a man named Ye Qing wouldn’t let it go and even broke several of Shao Yan’s ribs. Originally, since Shao Yan was at fault first, we weren’t planning on doing anything.

But somehow, this Ye Qing got to Uncle Tie and misled him too. Just now, Uncle Tie gathered us to deal with this matter concerning Shao Yan.”

As Ding Xiangyun spoke, she wiped away a tear and said, ”I thought that since Uncle Tie is one of our Ding Family, he would surely handle this matter fairly. But who knew Uncle Tie would take Ye Qing’s side completely. Shao Yan didn’t really make any big mistake, yet he pushed all the blame onto Shao Yan.

In front of so many of us, that Ye surname didn’t just not intervene when Shao Yan was being hit, he even praised Ye Qing’s beating, completely disregarding our Ding Family’s face. The key thing is, in the end, he personally took action and broke three of Shao Yan’s meridians, leaving Shao Yan disabled. Dad, what on earth does Uncle Tie mean by this?

Shao Yan was also looked after by him since he was little, doesn’t he feel any bit of pity for Shao Yan? Why would he join with an outsider to go against our Ding Family’s people?”

Elder Master Ding’s brows tightened gradually, and after a moment of silence, he said, ”Where are your brothers?”

”They have taken Shao Yan to the hospital, he’s probably still being resuscitated,” Ding Xiangyun exaggerated the situation, although in fact, Ding Shaoyan only had three meridians broken and wasn’t seriously injured.

Elder Master Ding said in a stern voice, ”Tell them to go to Xingyi Martial Arts School!”

”What?” Ding Xiangyun was startled but saw the old master stand up and say in a deep voice, ”I’m going too!”

Overjoyed, Ding Xiangyun hurriedly called her brothers, asking them to rush to the Xingyi Martial Arts School to watch the show.

Receiving the call, Ding Changyuan was also overjoyed. The doctor had just finished treating Ding Shaoyan, and he immediately took Ding Shaoyan along and rushed to the Xingyi Martial Arts School.

”Shao Yan, your grandpa is personally going to the Xingyi Martial Arts School. This time, we’ll definitely get you a satisfactory answer!” Ding Changyuan excitedly said to Ding Shaoyan.

”I want them dead! I want all of them dead!” Ding Shaoyan said through gritted teeth.

Ding Changyuan sneered and said, ”Don’t worry, we’ll certainly not let go of that Ye surname and that Wang surname!”

Ding Shaoyan roared, ”And Tie Yongwen, I want him dead too!”

Ding Changyuan was taken aback for a moment. Although Tie Yongwen had disabled Ding Shaoyan, in their hearts, aside from some dissatisfaction, no one dared to hate Tie Yongwen. After all, Tie Yongwen’s position in the Ding Family was not far from Elder Master Ding’s. Which of the Ding Family members were not brought up by Tie Yongwen?

During the Ding Family’s disaster back then, it was Tie Yongwen who protected them single-handedly, allowing them to live until today. Honestly, for them, Tie Yongwen was like a close elder relative; even with their dissatisfaction, no one harbored hatred.

But Ding Shaoyan and Ding Changyuan were different; he had never suffered such misfortune and hadn’t received much care from Tie Yongwen. Now that he’d been crippled by Tie Yongwen, the person he resented most was not Ye Qing, but rather Tie Yongwen. All he could think about was how to take revenge on Tie Yongwen.

”Shao Yan, your Grandpa Tie is, after all, one of our Ding Family, your elder. Although what he did this time was wrong, you can’t hold a grudge against him, do you understand?” said Ding Changyuan in an attempt to console him.

Ding Shaoyan yelled, ”Why not? Why not? He doesn’t carry the Ding surname, so why did he have the right to hit me? Why did he have the right to cripple me? Even grandpa wouldn’t treat me this way, what right does he have?”

Ding Changyuan’s face was awkward, knowing his son was very angry. He consoled him a few times, but he still couldn’t change Ding Shaoyan’s mind, and could only let him be.

When they arrived at Xingyi Martial Arts School, Ye Qing and Wang Tiezhu were still there. Tie Yongwen was sitting in the hall with Ye Qing; seeing the Ding Family members coming, they were somewhat surprised.

”What are you doing back here?” Tie Yongwen stood up and asked in surprise.

”Uncle Tie, Father just heard about Shao Yan’s situation, and he wants to personally visit Xingyi Martial Arts School!” Ding Changyuan said slowly, glancing at Ye Qing, ”And just when Boss Ye is here as well, that’s good. When my father arrives, we won’t need to send someone to invite Boss Ye!”

Ye Qing frowned. Elder Master Ding coming to Xingyi Martial Arts School at this time, could there be any good outcome? Could it be that he wants to investigate the responsibility for this matter? Given that, wouldn’t Tie Yongwen be scolded by Elder Master Ding this time?

”Uncle Tie...” Ye Qing looked worriedly at Tie Yongwen, but Tie Yongwen waved his hand, saying, ”Don’t worry, it’s nothing.”

Tie Yongwen might have spoken lightly, but Ye Qing didn’t think so. How could such a big issue be nothing when Elder Master Ding personally intervened?

Before long, other members of the Ding Family gradually returned, each looking at Ye Qing with schadenfreude, except for Ding Shaoyan, who continued to look at Tie Yongwen with venomous hatred. Now, Ding Shaoyan regarded Tie Yongwen as enemy number one, wishing nothing more than to kill Tie Yongwen in order to avenge the deep grudge in his heart.

Tie Yongwen sat in the room with calm composure, wholly unconcerned by the Ding Family members’ smugness. About half an hour later, Ding Xiangyun slowly drove to the entrance of the martial arts school and helped Elder Master Ding inside.

Upon seeing Elder Master Ding, the Ding Family members immediately stood up, and Tie Yongwen also hurried over, accompanying Elder Master Ding into the hall.

Elder Master Ding took the main seat, with Tie Yongwen standing by his side, a habit he had cultivated over many years. Although their relationship was akin to that of brothers, Tie Yongwen always remembered his role as a bodyguard and maintained such an attitude in front of Elder Master Ding.

After sitting down, Elder Master Ding looked over the Ding Family members, then at Ye Qing and Wang Tiezhu, and said, ”These two must be Ye Qing and Wang Tiezhu, right?”

”Yes, this is Ye Qing, and this is Wang Tiezhu,” Tie Yongwen introduced to Elder Master Ding.

Elder Master Ding slowly nodded, his gaze lingering on Ye Qing for a moment longer. Ye Qing sat with proper decorum; he wasn’t afraid of Elder Master Ding, but he did fear that Elder Master Ding would trouble Tie Yongwen over this incident. If that were to happen, he would have caused Tie Yongwen harm!

The Ding Family members looked at Elder Master Ding with hopeful eyes; they were all displeased with Ding Shaoyan’s disablement that had occurred earlier. However, they did not dare to contradict Tie Yongwen. Now that Elder Master Ding had arrived, they finally had an authoritative figure present, and they couldn’t wait for Elder Master Ding to immediately seek revenge for Ding Shaoyan.

Elder Master Ding looked towards Ding Shaoyan and asked, ”Shao Yan, how are you?”

Upon hearing Elder Master Ding’s words, Ding Shaoyan immediately teared up, his voice breaking as he said, ”Grandpa, I... I’m crippled...”

”Come here, let me have a look!” Elder Master Ding beckoned.

Ding Shaoyan shakily stood up, and Ding Changyuan immediately supported him, walking him over to Elder Master Ding. In a low voice, he said, ”Dad, Shao Yan is severely injured, he’s even having trouble walking. I heard from the doctor that if it’s not handled properly, he might end up with a permanent disability.

Ah, Shao Yan is only twenty years old, what will he do for the rest of his life if he’s like this?”

As Ding Changyuan spoke, he cast a surreptitious glance at Tie Yongwen, he was truly dissatisfied with Tie Yongwen for having harmed Shao Yan so severely.

”Is that so?” Elder Master Ding examined Ding Shaoyan top to bottom, then asked, ”Can you stand on your own?”

With a pitiful look, Ding Shaoyan replied, ”Grandpa, I... my entire body aches, I can’t stand at all...”

”Oh, is that so?” Elder Master Ding frowned, then suddenly swung the walking stick in his hand at Ding Shaoyan, raining blows down upon him.

Ding Shaoyan was taken aback, and instinctively stepped back, dodging Elder Master Ding’s strike. However, this maneuver also allowed him to step away from Ding Changyuan’s side, showing he could walk without support.

”You beast, how dare you deceive me!” Elder Master Ding erupted in fury, pointing at Ding Shaoyan as he exclaimed, ”Aren’t you able to stand firm?”

Ding Shaoyan was stunned for a moment before realizing that Elder Master Ding’s strike was a test.

Ding Xiangyun hastily intervened, ”Dad, Shao Yan has been seriously injured--it’s natural for him to be in pain. Having him stand like this isn’t good for his recovery. Dad, Shao Yan has been with you since he was little, don’t you know his character?”

”It’s because I know his character that I won’t believe a word he says!” Elder Master Ding stood up, casting a cold glance over the Ding Family members and said, ”You beasts, don’t think I’m unaware of the things you’ve done outside. Over the years, with better living conditions, you’ve started to think highly of yourselves, haven’t you? What are you really?

Strip off the skin you’re so proud of, compare yourself with those farmers--apart from that extra layer of skin, what else do you have?”

Everyone had thought that Elder Master Ding had come to trouble Tie Yongwen, all awaiting expectantly for him to deal with Tie Yongwen. However, not only did Elder Master Ding not chastise Tie Yongwen, but he also began scolding his own children.

The Ding Family members hung their heads, confusion apparent on each of their faces, not understanding what Elder Master Ding was getting at.

Ding Xiangyun said, ”Dad, we... we haven’t done anything. Look, today... today we’re mainly discussing Shao Yan’s case. I admit, Shao Yan indeed did something wrong, but that’s no reason to cripple him!”

”You still have the face to talk to me!” Elder Master Ding shouted angrily, ”Do you really think I’m oblivious to what has happened? Do you really think I’ve become senile just because I’m old? I’ll have you know that I understand this matter from start to finish more clearly than any of you. Yongwen dealt with this matter upon my personal order. Disabling Shao Yan was also a command from me!”
