Urban Martial Saint

Huang Fulin’s worry was justified because he knew the situation of Liu Yibing and his group all too well. Especially that Young Master Peng, the only son of Eryao Town’s mayor Peng Shanglin, who normally preyed on the locals and wielded power tyrannically—who dared to defy him?

This time, he had actually suffered a loss at Ye Qing’s hands and even received a slap from him. Judging by the teeth on the ground, it was likely his own. That slap was delivered with such force that Young Master Peng probably had never been hit like that in his life. With his temperament, how could he let this go?

Da Fei said annoyedly, ”Damn these bastards, I’m not afraid of them if they come at us with real knives and guns. The most troublesome part is that Liu Yibing—his cousin is the deputy chief of the police station in Eryao Town, Liu Dingjun. Now that he’s run off, he’s probably going to his cousin to handle this!”

”If the police really come, it’s going to be difficult to handle!” Huang Fulin hastily looked at Ye Qing and said anxiously, ”Boss Ye, why don’t you go back to the city and lay low for a bit? I’ll go and pull some strings this afternoon to see if I can sort this out!”

Da Fei chimed in, ”Yeah, big brother, you should head back to the city. If they come, I’ll stand in for you. We’re all locals here; they won’t go too far with us, but it’s different with you around!”

”Hahaha...” Ye Qing couldn’t help but laugh and said, ”It’s just a deputy chief of a police station, do you two really need to worry so much?”

”Ah?” Huang Fulin and Da Fei were both taken aback. A deputy chief of a police station was a significant figure in Eryao Town. No matter how skilled Ye Qing was, dealing with hooligans was one thing, but would he dare to strike a police officer?

”Big brother, this... this is the police, it’s different...” Da Fei reminded in a low voice.

Ye Qing replied with a light smile, ”The two of you don’t need to worry. Just focus on what’s going on here. Rest assured, they won’t be able to catch me.”

Huang Fulin and Da Fei exchanged looks and didn’t try to persuade him further. Seeing Ye’s confidence, they assumed he had his own plans.

Huang Fulin and Da Fei continued to deal with the house construction, while Ye Qing took out his phone to call Zhao Chengshuang. Zhao Chengshuang had just arrived at the Provincial Police Department and happened to be free. He picked up Ye Qing’s call, excitedly saying, ”Ye Zi, what’s up?”

Ye Qingqi asked, ”What’s going on? Any good news? You sound so thrilled.”

”Haha...” Zhao Chengshuang laughed loudly, ”Ye Zi, when I get back, I’ll be the deputy director of the Xicheng District Bureau!”

”Ah?” Ye Qingqi was momentarily stunned. Zhao Chengshuang’s promotion seemed too swift. He was only thirty this year, and it seemed his future in the Shenchuan City police force was boundless!

”What ah? Don’t you see the merits I’ve claimed recently? Every case has been significant. The Provincial Department commended me in a meeting, calling me a model for the Eastern Province police and urging everyone to learn from me. Especially this matter with He Ziqiang—you probably don’t know yet, but Guan Haochen has been arrested, and the department conducted an investigation.

He confessed everything. The department also learned about my role in capturing He Ziqiang, and so this merit has also been attributed to me. But the blame falls on Guan Haochen, it’s like fate, hahaha...” Zhao Chengshuang could hardly contain his laughter.

Ye Qingqi also smiled and said, ”You lucky guy!”

”After all is said and done, it’s you who have really helped me out. Okay, when I’m back, I’ll treat you to dinner!” Zhao Chengshuang paused and then said, ”Did you need something? The last of the testing is almost done, and nothing from your brother yet. I think he wasn’t in that car, fortunate people tend to have their own celestial protection, so don’t worry too much!”

Hearing about his brother, Ye Qingqi sighed softly and said, ”I hope that’s the case.”

”Don’t worry, you’ve done so many good deeds; you’ve also accumulated merit for him. Look at how you’ve taken care of those kids, if your brother is in any danger, it would mean heaven is really blind!” Zhao Chengshuang said, ”By the way, how’s the orphanage coming along? I heard from Old Li that the site is huge, just a bit remote.

But being remote isn’t bad; the kids can live there without disturbance!”

”It’s going alright,” Ye Qingqi paused, then said, ”Speaking of which, I have a bit of a situation here that might need your intervention.”

”What’s the matter?” Zhao Chengshuang asked straightforwardly.

Ye Qingqi explained the situation in Eryao Town. After hearing it, Zhao Chengshuang immediately said, ”Okay, I’ll make a call right now. Don’t worry, it’s not just about some deputy chief of a town’s police station, even if someone from the city bureau went there, they’d have to come back to me obediently!”

See, Zhao Chengshuang was about to be promoted and felt quite bold. However, he did have the clout to back up his words, since the Dong Province Police Department had marked him for future leadership. Naturally, the Shenchuan City Police Department would treat him as a rising star.

Just as Zhao Chengshuang was about to hang up, he suddenly said, ”Hold on a second, Ye Zi, Miss Ou wants to have a word with you.”

Ye Qingqi was taken aback, and by the time he could react, Zhao Chengshuang had already handed the phone to Ou Keren, whose gentle voice came through, ”Brother Ye.”

”Miss Ou,” Ye Qingqi hurriedly replied. To him, Ou Keren was someone who had saved his life. He hadn’t known Ou Keren for very long, but she had risked her own safety to save him, which deeply moved him.

”How... how is your injury?” Ou Keren whispered.

”All better!” Ye Qing grinned heartily and said, ”I’m fine now, thanks to Miss Ou’s acupuncture!”

Hearing the word acupuncture, Ou Keren’s pretty face instantly blushed. That day in the hotel when she performed acupuncture on Ye Qing, she had taken off his clothes. She hadn’t thought much of it at the time, but later on, every time she recalled it, it made her blush and her heart race. It was the first time she’d seen a boy’s body and it inevitably stirred emotions within her.

”That’s good then.” Ou Keren replied softly and then let out a light sigh, ”Brother Ye, the meeting at the Provincial Police Department has ended, and I... I will be returning to Xiangjiang soon. I’m afraid... I’m afraid I won’t be able to visit Shenchuan City to see you again.”

”Ah?” Ye Qing was taken aback and asked, ”Aren’t you going back to Shenchuan City first?”

”A call came from Xiangjiang asking us to return as soon as possible to close the case on He Ziqiang. So, we might take a flight directly from the Provincial Police Department back home,” Ou Keren said with a slightly melancholic voice, ”Brother Ye, I... I just want to thank you for helping me catch He Ziqiang, that thief, allowing us to successfully complete the case.”

Ye Qing also felt a wave of melancholy upon hearing this.

”If you’re free in the future, come visit Shenchuan City often,” Ye Qing said. ”There’s plenty to do here, and you didn’t even get to see any sights this time around.”

”I will come,” Ou Keren said with a smile, ”Brother Ye, I... I just wanted to ask if one day you have the time, would you consider visiting Xiangjiang?”

”If I have the time, I’ll make the trip,” Ye Qing replied with a smile, ”Now I have friends in Xiangjiang too, so I won’t have to worry about not being welcomed there!”

”Hehe...” Ou Keren laughed joyfully, ”Brother Ye, let’s agree on that. If you come to Xiangjiang, you must call me!”

Ye Qing laughed and said, ”Don’t worry, if I don’t call you, I’d probably be lost over there!”

Ou Keren was elated, chatting with Ye Qing for a few more moments before reluctantly ending the call. Zhao Chengshuang watched from the side, and seeing Ou Keren’s playful yet indignant beauty, he couldn’t help but inwardly remark on Ye Qing’s good fortune with women; it seemed like all the extremely beautiful women liked him.

Mu Qingrong and Rong Fang Tingyun were one thing, but even the unworldly figure Poisonous Mantis was so good to him, which was already unscientific. What’s more, this policewoman from Xiangjiang had grown so attached to him in just a few days, wounding the pride of other men.

It should be noted that Guan Haochen had been attentive to Ou Keren from the beginning to the end, but she had not even deigned to give him a proper glance – the difference between men was just too great!

On Ye Qing’s side, not long after he put down the phone, Da Fei rushed over in a panic, exclaiming, ”Bro... Brother Ye, the police station has sent someone, three police cars! They said they’ll take all the people who came from the city!”

Ye Qing frowned, knowing Da Fei was right. Liu Yibing must have a significant amount of clout, to have gotten the police station’s people to come so quickly. And with so many at once, it seemed his cousin really took care of him.

Ye Qing led his people to the entrance of the farm, where three police cars were parked. A potbellied policeman was leisurely smoking at the entrance with Liu Yibing standing beside him. Seeing Ye Qing emerge, Liu Yibing immediately pointed at Ye Qing and said a few words to the officer, as if he was helping to identify Ye Qing.

”That’s Liu Dingjun!” Da Fei whispered to Ye Qing.

Not that Da Fei needed to tell him, Ye Qing had already guessed as much. He walked over with his people, only to see Da Fei’s men pressed to the ground with their heads stepped on by several policemen. Da Fei’s other brothers were all visibly angry but dared not act, as the men were, after all, policemen.

”Ye, you fucking dare to come out!” Liu Yibing shouted from a distance, ”Now my cousin is here, how are you going to settle the matter of hitting me?”

Liu Dingjun said nothing; he just threw away his cigarette and walked straight up to Ye Qing. After looking Ye Qing up and down, he spat and waved his hand, ”Take him!”

”Hold on!” Ye Qing shouted loudly, ”Why are you taking me?”

”Why?” Liu Dingjun turned his head to look at Ye Qing and suddenly reached out to slap Ye Qing, cursing, ”Didn’t you see I’m a cop? What do you mean ’why’? You really don’t know what’s good for you!”

Ye Qing blocked his hand away, causing Liu Dingjun to pause, then rage. He had been a cop for so long, people usually didn’t even dare to dodge when he raised his hand. It was the first time someone had deflected his hand like Ye Qing just did.

”You’re fucking arrogant, aren’t you!” Liu Dingjun put a hand on his gun belt and glared, ”Take him back for me!”
