Urban Martial Saint

”Elder gentleman, you’ve misunderstood us!” Fang Tingyun explained, ”We don’t know your three sons; it was Ye who just now suspected that your three sons might threaten you, so he used this strategy to deceive them.”

”Oh?” Huang Fulin’s face remained full of confusion; he had no idea what had actually happened.

Ye Qing then recounted in detail the matter of Huang Ziying approaching him to discuss selling the land and finally said, ”I thought about it, and if your three sons wanted to threaten you, they would almost certainly use someone close to you to do so. Moreover, the most likely hostage would definitely be Xiao Bei. So, I boldly used this strategy to lure them into bringing the deed certificates.

I followed Huang Zixiong, rescued Xiao Bei first, and then came here to retrieve all the deed certificates for you.”

As he spoke, Ye Qing stuffed the deed certificates on the table into Huang Fulin’s hands and said, ”Elder Huang, please take good care of these documents. If they are stolen again, it might not be so easy to trick them back!”

Huang Fulin suddenly saw the light, looked at the certificates in his hands, and at Xiao Bei bouncing around next to him, feeling overwhelmed by emotions.

”Boss Ye, I ... I misunderstood you, you really are a great person!” Huang Fulin was moved to tears. Xiao Bei had returned, and the deed certificates had come back—it was all thanks to Ye Qing!

”Elder Huang, you are the good person!” Fang Tingyun said with a smile, ”I heard from Xiao Bei that you aren’t her biological grandfather, but you treat her even better than one. In today’s society, it’s rare to find someone as good-hearted as you.”

Huang Fulin looked at Xiao Bei affectionately and said in a low voice, ”This child, Xiao Bei, is very smart and very dutiful towards the elderly. It’s just a pity that she has such a tough fate, suffering from this disease, and we still don’t know... we still don’t know if it can be cured...”

Speaking of Xiao Bei’s illness, Huang Fulin and the old lady could not help but sob together. Xiao Bei’s ailment was very strange; they had already consulted many doctors, yet none could diagnose what it was. To find a cure for Xiao Bei, the elderly couple had worried themselves sick, and selling the land was an attempt to raise money for her treatment.

It had been a long time since they had seen Xiao Bei as active and lively as she was now.

Ye Qing said, ”Actually, Xiao Bei’s disease is not incurable; she simply has a congenital obstruction of her meridians, which is compressing her nerves and blood vessels. Finding a competent acupuncturist to unblock her meridians and then performing a surgery to clear the accumulated blood in her brain should do the trick.”

”What?” The people in the room turned to look at Ye Qing, and Li Lianshan couldn’t help but say, ”Hey, Ye Zi, you even understand medicine?”

”Ye used to treat epilepsy!” Fang Tingyun answered for Ye Qing.

Huo Pingping said, ”Soldier, seems like you know quite a bit, hmm? Are you just bluffing?”

”Boss Ye, are... are you serious?” Huang Fulin and the old lady looked at Ye Qing anxiously. They had visited too many doctors, who had all failed to diagnose Xiao Bei’s condition. And here was a young businessman like Ye Qing, speaking with such certainty, which left them astonished and somewhat skeptical.

”The blocked meridian is located three inches from her left shoulder on her back. If she feels dizzy or has difficulty breathing, you can rub this spot forcefully to alleviate the symptoms,” Ye Qing said, and while doing so, he placed his hands on Xiao Bei’s back to demonstrate the location for Huang Fulin and the old lady.

After rescuing Xiao Bei from Huang Zixiong, Ye Qing saw that she remained unconscious, so he examined her. It was impossible to tell from her appearance what disease she had, but when he felt her pulse, he sensed the blocked meridians.

This was not something a regular doctor could discern, and even going to the hospital would not reveal the venous blockage, only showing that she had undiagnosed cerebral congestion. Hence, doctors had been unable to treat her.

However, Ye Qing had learned the Acupoint Seeking Technique, which primarily dealt with meridians and acupoints, and for this kind of condition, Ye Qing could naturally detect it at once.

The old lady followed Ye Qing’s instructions and pressed the spot, then asked Xiao Bei, ”How do you feel, Xiao Bei?”

”It feels so comfortable!” Xiao Bei replied.

”Really?” Huang Fulin and the old lady were overjoyed, and the old lady hastily held Xiao Bei in her arms. Xiao Bei’s unconsciousness and breathing difficulties had always been their greatest concerns.

”Boss Ye, thank you... truly, thank you...” Huang Fulin said with tears of gratitude, clutching Ye Qing’s hand, at a loss for words.

Li Lianshan chimed in from the side, ”If you want to say thanks, why don’t you give him your land...”

Ye Qing quickly extended his hand to stop him and said, ”Elder Huang, I was just doing what I should, there is no need for thanks.”

Huang Fulin had already understood what Li Lianshan was about to say. He nodded and said, ”Boss Li is right, Boss Ye. I’ll sell the land to you!”

Ye Qing said, ”Elder Huang, this land is for your retirement. I can’t take advantage of someone in distress. Besides, I’m helping you not for your land but because I can’t stand the way your three sons conduct themselves. So, you don’t need to do this!”

”Ah,” Huang Fulin sighed, ”Boss Ye, you’ve helped me so much, practically saving our lives. I see now that with this land in my hands, my ungrateful sons will never leave me in peace, eyeing it every day. I can’t keep it safe. It’s better to sell it quickly. Boss Ye, you seem like a good person. Selling the land to you would certainly be much better than selling it to those profit-driven businessmen.

All I ask for is enough money to cure Xiao Bei’s illness and provide for her as she grows. That would be enough.”

”Ah, Elder Huang, you’re right about that,” said Li Lianshan, ”Ye Zi is not like those profit-driven businessmen. If he buys this land, he actually wants to build a private orphanage to provide for a group of unadopted children.”

”Really?” Huang Fulin was taken aback and turned to look at Ye Qing, asking, ”Boss Ye, you...you want to open a private orphanage? Such an orphanage won’t make any money at all, and you’ll need to invest a lot into it!”

Ye Qing nodded, ”I know.”

Huang Fulin stared at Ye Qing with wide eyes for a good while, then gritted his teeth and said, ”Boss Ye, if... if you really want to open a private orphanage, I have no problem giving you the land for free...”

”Elder Huang, don’t say that!” Ye Qing quickly waved his hands.

”Listen to me!” Huang Fulin grabbed Ye Qing’s hand, ”I’m just an old coot, and there’s no one else in my family. Even if I kept the land, it would at best be a dowry for Xiao Bei. But, if this land can help build a home for more children like Xiao Bei, then it would be worth it. Wife, don’t you think so?”

The old lady nodded repeatedly, holding Xiao Bei and said, ”Old Huang, whatever you decide, I’ll support you. As long as Xiao Bei is alright, I have no other demands!”

Huang Fulin turned to Ye Qing, ”Boss Ye, I have no other demands either. Just give me some money to cure Xiao Bei’s illness, and the land is yours. This land can be my way of doing something for these children.”

”Elder Huang, if you truly want to do something for these children, then sell the land to me at market price!” Ye Qing said, ”I’d rather not take the land for free.”

”This...” Huang Fulin and the old lady looked at each other. Ye Qing’s determination made it hard for them to refuse.

”Elder Huang, stop thinking about it!” said Li Lianshan, ”Ye is the kind of man who can’t stand to take things from others without paying. Besides, this land is for your retirement. Without it, won’t your future life be insecure?”

Fang Tingyun also said, ”Yes, Elder Huang. If you really want to do something for these children, selling the land to Ye is the best help you can provide!”

The persuasion of the crowd resulted in Huang Fulin finally giving up the idea of giving away the land for free. In the end, he sold the farm to Ye Qing, including his building, for fifteen million yuan. Eryao Town is a very remote town in Shenchuan City, where land is cheap; this price was already well above market value.

Although Huang Fulin repeatedly emphasized that it was too much, Ye Qing insisted on giving him this amount in the end.

Once the contract was signed, the land and the building belonged to Ye Qing. Next was the task of moving those children to live here, then building houses nearby to set up the orphanage properly, ensuring a stable life for the children. Of course, a school had to be built as well, so the children could attend classes directly at the orphanage.

Huang Fulin was very concerned about Ye Qing’s orphanage and spent the entire afternoon helping with the planning for the construction. It seemed that he was also very interested in matters concerning children, so Ye Qing simply let him help find people to work on the architectural plans.

He also let him stay at the farm for the time being, since he didn’t have anywhere else to live just yet, and he could move out after buying a new house later on.

What had been worrying Huang Fulin the most recently was Xiao Bei’s condition. Now that there was hope for improvement and even a cure, he was much more cheerful. He readily agreed to take on the tasks Ye Qing entrusted to him. He had lived in this town for a long time, so taking on these tasks wasn’t too difficult for him.

With things settled here, Ye Qing packed up and prepared to leave. Before departing, he took Xiao Bei’s pulse again. Clearing blockages in the meridians was most conveniently done with inner strength, but since he wasn’t yet able to release his inner strength, he would need to find an old Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner to perform acupuncture for her.

”By the way, you should also hurry up with preparing for the surgery at the hospital!” Ye Qing said, ”Have you decided on which hospital to go to? Do you want me to recommend one for you?”

The one Ye Qing would naturally recommend was Lin Tianyou, who would be returning to Shenchuan City in the next few days. It had been a while since Ye Qing had seen him.
