My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1998: Chapter 1792: Wind Blows Down the Rain

”Grandpa, listening to the wind blowing over the sea again and again, who knows how comfortable it might be, but how uncomfortable it makes me!”

Zhang Yichen really doesn’t understand what is supposedly so good about his mother. Why does his father love her so devotedly, knowing full well that the person his wife loves isn’t him, yet she is still willing to sacrifice everything for that person. What’s it all for? Even though he loves his wife, he doesn’t love her to such an extent.

Zhang Zhentian doesn’t know what his son is thinking; he only knows that all he can do right now is love his actions towards his wife sincerely, letting his wife know that, in fact, he is the man who loves her the most in this world. He wants her to understand that everything can change, and accepting the status quo isn’t the only way to be happy.

”I really don’t understand it. What’s so good about my mother? Why is she worth your devoted love? How has she treated you all these years? Don’t you really know in your heart?

You’ve been deceiving yourself, but you’ve managed to fool yourself over and over again. You’ve lived a life of self-deception for decades. Do you think your life is worth it?

You’ve been willing to give up everything for her, even discard our entire family, abandon the century-old reputation painstakingly built by grandpa, even forsake your father’s lifelong legacy for her.

In your eyes, besides her, is there anything else worth holding onto? What do you consider your family to be?

Do you really dismiss us so easily now?

Do you now casually inflict harm? What benefits do you gain by hurting your family? Ultimately, you only push your loved ones further and further away. Those family members who love you feel disappointed time and again by your actions, and they will eventually choose to give up on you. Your actions break the hearts of everyone who loves you. Why should they choose to continue being devoted to you time and again?

Have you never thought about the consequences of your actions? You only know what kind of life you want, but do you know that the person you love might not love you in their heart?”

”Child, you don’t understand. Some things aren’t as simple as you think. I’ve shared a bed with her for decades. I know what kind of person she is, far better than you do. You can’t make judgments based on her one-sided story.

I once thought that even if one day she was truly unwilling to stay by my side and left for someone else’s arms, I would still happily bless her.

When the day comes that she wants to return to me, I will still open my arms to welcome her, because she is the person I love most in my heart. I can give up all my boundaries for her, because I love her, so I can abandon all my dignity. That is the true way to love someone!

Someone can give up all their principles, all their dignity, and everything they hold dear if they don’t love that person, then why give up so much for them?”

Zhang Yichen feels that his father’s love is too humble. He is willing to give up his entire life for his mother, but why, in his mother’s eyes, is it all just a mistake? Why doesn’t his mother want to love his father even a little more?

He has grown up this much, and throughout these years, they haven’t spent any money for him, nor have they worried over him, yet why, in his mother’s eyes, is it still not enough?

Are people’s hearts really so unpredictable? For his so-called freedom, he once abandoned me, and now for his so-called love, he has abandoned the entire family. Time and again, he has abandoned me; does he even consider me his son?

Zhang Yichen feels increasingly uncomfortable as he thinks. He can hardly imagine what his mother truly thinks of him deep down. In this life, there are so many things he can do, all he wants is to stay by his parent’s side, but time and again, the outcome leaves him feeling overly passive.

”Do you know that although you love her, she doesn’t love you? I have never seen anyone love another the way you do. Your love is too humble, and in her eyes, she cannot feel whether you truly love her or not?

In her eyes, there is only her love. She once abandoned me for her so-called freedom, and now she wants to abandon our entire family for her love. To her, all these things related to us can be discarded, except that person, whom she cannot forget.

In his heart, everything is just a foil for her; she can disregard everyone because, in her eyes, we are not her real family!

I really don’t understand, he acts so decisively, why do you still choose to love him so devotedly? What reason makes you disregard everything for him, allowing him to abandon us time and time again?

We are also people; we have souls. We get hurt repeatedly, and our hearts ache from the pain caused by you both. What is it all for? Just because you are my parents?

So you can wantonly hurt my sincere heart towards you?

Time and again, shouldn’t it be enough by now? Why do you always test my patience repeatedly? Is it really that good for you both? Do you really want to push me to the brink of despair?”

Zhang Zhentian knows well that his love is too humble. Perhaps it is exactly because his love is overly humble that his wife remains indifferent, that she turns a blind eye to his efforts and closes her ears to every word he says, which makes everything as awkward as it is now. If not for this, if he had a bit more of a man’s demeanor, wouldn’t all of this have happened? Wouldn’t his wife view him differently? Is all of this truly because he’s too weak and incompetent?

”Regardless if I am humble or not, my heart that loves her will never be humble. My love for her is strong, it’s steadfast, it will not change because of anything, and I believe that one day, she will realize that my love for her makes me not seem so humble...”

We all think loving is easy, yet we forget that this pain is where it comes from.
