My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1970: Chapter 1764: Hereafter

I always thought that everything could wait for the day when they blossom and bear fruit. I always thought everything would develop as I imagined.

Zhang Yichen listened to what his mother said, and he didn’t know how to respond. He couldn’t understand why, despite his earnest efforts to persuade his mother for so long, he still couldn’t convince her to turn back. Did it mean he was really this useless? Or, in his mother’s heart, was he just a burden, a mere object she disdains? Why, after so many years, can’t he change the ending of being abandoned? Does heaven truly want him to never experience parental love, never to have a complete family?

”Mom, since we’ve already reached this point, I will absolutely not try to persuade you again. I really can’t understand, after all these years, I still can’t receive complete love from my parents, still can’t have a complete family. I really don’t understand, is the relationship over so many years really so trivial in your hearts? Am I, your biological son, really so insignificant in your eyes? Why, after all my efforts, can I still not escape the fate of being abandoned by my own parents? Why, after so long of trying to persuade you, you still can’t forgive my dad and let me have a complete family? Why has it been so long, yet your pride and arrogance still stand above me? You are truly too much prouder than me; I am a business king, yet I have never been as proud as you. I know being kind and affable is the best way to be approachable, and I understand how to gain everyone’s approval in this world, but I can’t get my parents to return to my side. This is a failure for me, making me feel like a failure, someone who can’t make his parents live for him even once. It is you who let me know that only profit is most important; it is you and dad who made me understand, abandoning me makes your hearts happy. In your hearts, I am nothing, not even as much as a pet you haven’t seen for years, at least there’s some feeling. let alone my blood carries yours and dad’s, but why? Why is there never a place for me in your hearts?”

”Child, it’s not that there’s no place for you in mom’s heart. Your parents love you very much, but your dad and I have come to this point and there’s no turning back. Do you think mom doesn’t wish to be by your side and see you live a happy life? Do you think mom wouldn’t want to give you a happy family? In this life, mom owes you too much, owes you a complete family, made you endure so much ridicule and sarcasm. All this blame is on me, but do not hate your father, his only mistake is caring for me too much, loving me too intensely. That’s why he’s willing to give up everything for me. I understand now, if a person truly loves their partner, then they will be willing to do anything, even give up their own life for their partner!”

”Mom, you say you love me, yet this is how you love me? Heartlessly abandoning me, if you’ve decided to do it once more, then why come back? Why come back, why disrupt my life? I just want a peaceful life, is it so difficult? What I need is nothing else, just a little more love from my parents, even a little. I don’t ask for profound love from my parents, just a little more each day, even a little, day after day, month after month, year after year, a lifetime. As long as you love me in this life, that would be enough for me. But now I understand, it’s all just my wishful thinking, my parents never really intended to give me their love, your love is just empty words. I won’t believe anything you say anymore, because your words hold no credibility, making me realize you are just too hypocritical, forever lying and deceiving those who care about you. Those who care for you will never be placed in your heart; in your eyes, you can never see those who love you or miss you, only the profit before your eyes. Perhaps, for you, profit is more important than anything else...”

Xia Jing was astonished to hear his son utter such unbelievable words. He knew that in his son’s heart, he had already completely denied his own value. He understood that all these results were decisions he had forced his son to make. Had he really failed? Heartlessly returning to yet again hurt his son to the bone, and now planning to abandon him once more. How can his son accept it? In this world, is there any mother as heartless as him? His heart ached as though being stabbed by knives, and he couldn’t understand why he had inflicted such damage on his own biological son.

”Child, listen to mom, mom never thought this way; mom just hopes you can live happily, joyfully, and safely. Is such a wish also wrong of mom? Mom just wishes you could have your own life, be the master of your own world, control your own destiny. Is it also wrong for mom to wish this? It’s not that mom doesn’t love you, just that the love is too little. All of this is mom’s own doing. If only mom hadn’t heartlessly abandoned you here, would you not hate me now? Now I understand, true feelings between people come from long-term companionship. Even as your mother, if you want to have feelings with me, I must stay by your side, to watch you grow. These years are what I owe you, and I can no longer repay them. I just hope you and your wife can live well together; she is truly a good girl. What you did indeed made her very sad; it’s unforgivable for anyone to get their husband, on their wedding night, to propose waiting three years before having children. It’s unimaginable for anyone to accept this.”

”Since you are unwilling to sacrifice even a bit for me, then from now on, don’t contact me, nor will I contact you; let’s become strangers and let everything take its course!”

Later, it was realized that not everything is so easily obtainable as desired; what is lost may never be regained!
