My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1988: Chapter 1782: Stop

I once thought that all my feelings for you would stop like an alarm clock after you abandoned me, but I didn’t expect my yearning for you to still grow by the day.

Zhang Zhentian felt comforted by how his parents could be so honest with him today, to share all their inner thoughts. After all, his mother was no longer avoiding all responsibilities like she used to. His mother used to be someone who dared not take on any responsibility, only thinking of pushing everything onto others. Her willingness to shoulder everything now proves that they are changing. Why must I hurt them again and again? Haven’t I done all this to keep my family happy?

As long as everyone in the family can get along like they do now, what does it matter if I lose some, pay a price? I never imagined the family could be as harmonious as it is now. Nobody knew what I was doing everything for back then. Everyone has moments of taking the wrong path. Ultimately, it’s about whether you can understand what your actions are truly for. If you go your entire life not realizing who you’re doing it for, what purpose it serves, no amount of effort will have any effect. Put yourself in others’ shoes, think about how you would handle situations if you were in their place. Would you still be so aggressive? What would you do if it were you facing these issues, and others were pressing you?

”Mom and Dad, I appreciate everything you’ve done. I will no longer be as willful as I was before. Every time I acted willfully, deep down I was in pain and sadness. I never thought I would become what I am now. As I’ve taken step by step to get here, I realized just how afraid I was. All I wanted was to live happily and peacefully. I’ve endured pain over and over, but it’s all just because of my family’s love for me.

All that has passed, let’s not bring it up again. Let the past vanish like smoke in the wind. If we keep dwelling on past hurts, how can we live as happily and easily as we do now? Every road we’ve chosen has been for ourselves. Now, I just want my wife to recover. I only hope Heaven gives me another chance to care for her, not let her fall into decline like this. Seeing her like that, I really can’t bear it!

I don’t know what you think when you see my wife like this, but to me, she is still the woman I love the most, no matter what she becomes. She has given up so much and waited for me for so many years. How could I easily abandon her like that? It’s not in my nature to do such a thing. I only hope for a chance where she won’t be taken away from me. She needs my care, my love, my constant presence. She needs warmth and a supportive embrace during difficult times.”

”Son, whatever decision you make now, Mom and Dad won’t interfere, nor will we impose or pressure you to choose a certain path. I believe every decision you make is correct. But sometimes, when you misjudge people, it brings consequences to yourself. You should understand this deeply now. You’ve entered society, established your own career, and reached here step by step through hard work. You see things more clearly than many people. I hope you still think carefully before acting!

I have never understood your wife. I don’t know what kind of girl she really is, nor do I know if she is like others perceive her. I just hope you think carefully; is she truly as innocent as it seems? Think about everything she’s done since you met her; do you honestly know all her actions? Has she never hidden anything from you?”

”Mom, what do you mean by that?”

”I don’t mean anything by it; I only hope you see everyone clearly. Of course, I believe she’s not that kind of girl. I’ve seen too many women willing to sell their souls for status. I’ve seen many women, despite not achieving happiness themselves, involving themselves in others’ happy lives, causing destruction. I’ve met too many like them. I don’t know how to describe them; their actions seem dirty, yet they feel satisfied, while others see them as unclean individuals.

If you sincerely wish to live long with your wife, you must be aware of those close to you. Beware of their intentions. Such women are indescribable; what kind of education or encouragement made them act this way? Of course, you can’t blame entirely other women; the men should also reflect on their thoughts. If a man just wants to anger his wife by being with someone else, he’s simply useless, a coward.”

”Mom, rest assured. My feelings for my wife surpass anyone else’s. It’s a unique bond between us, one we understand. I don’t believe anyone would do such a thing to me, and if they did, I’d keep a distance. I wouldn’t gamble my soul or family happiness. I’m not that foolish or stupid. If that day ever comes, I’ll drag that woman to hell with me. If I cannot live peacefully, neither should she stay untroubled in this world.”

Whether or not you betrayed my love for you, or my supposed sincerity, I’m still waiting for you.
