My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1953: Chapter 1747: Unspoken Words

Some words are not meant for everyone, and some people are not meant for deep connections!

Zhang Yichen, who was far away overseas, heard his phone ring. When she picked it up, she saw a message from her wife. Seeing the message his wife had left him, his heart couldn’t help but feel a bit sad. Clearly, this matter was so simple, but why had it turned out like this? Clearly, a few simple words could have easily resolved it, but it had escalated to this extent. He didn’t know how he should respond to his wife; maybe not replying was the best response?

Zhang Zhentian knew that after her son and daughter-in-law had a fight, he’d left home, and it made her uncomfortable. Could it be that they were already having family conflicts right after getting married? What on earth was happening between the two of them? The more Zhang Zhentian thought about it, the more annoyed she became, so she called Xia Jing.

”Haven’t I told you before? We shouldn’t contact each other anymore. We should be like strangers when we meet. Why are you still calling me? What exactly do you want?”

”Can you not get mad at me? I want to ask you if you know about our son’s fight with our daughter-in-law, and then our son left home. Do you know about it?”

”Are you calling to joke with me? Do you think I would know about my son and daughter-in-law’s fight and him leaving home? I haven’t even seen my son recently. How would I know all this? You’re always lingering around the house, wouldn’t you know?”

”I really don’t get it. They’re fighting right after getting married. If so, why did they even get married in the first place? Did they marry just to fight? If that’s the case, what’s the point of getting married? It’s better for them to live their own separate and carefree lives. This is the good son you bore, and the good daughter-in-law you found, making my son leave home, leaving my father alone at home, not knowing where to find anyone. What kind of mother are you?”

When Xia Jing heard Zhang Zhentian’s words, she felt hurt as well. What did it mean by her being a good son-bearing mother? Was it wrong for her to give the Zhang Family an heir as well?

”Zhang Zhentian, clarify what you mean by ’good son I bore’. I found him a good daughter-in-law. What do you mean by these two sentences? Was it wrong for me to painstakingly carry him for ten months and give birth, giving you an heir to the family? If it weren’t for the son I bore, your family would have no successor now. Aren’t you at least a bit grateful to me? Why put all the blame on me? That girl is so kind, and despite all the past hurt, she has been forgiving and magnanimous. Can’t you support them being together? Are you still trying to stir up trouble now and want me to take the blame for you? Why do you keep doing things that hurt me repeatedly, and what did I do to wrong you? Is this how you repay me? Talking about divorce so many years ago, what have you taken me for?”

”I’m calling you not to argue about us, but to ask if you know where our son is? He’s gone missing, and no one in the world can find him. What should we do? Do you, as a mother, only know how to enjoy life abroad without ever considering your son’s safety?”

”I’ll say it again, I don’t know where our son is. It’s been a long time since he reached out, and I haven’t reached out to him either. What do you mean I don’t care about my son? Do you care? Have you thought about how your son managed these years because of your decision to treat me harshly back then? You’re facing the consequences now, and you want to put all the blame on me, making me take on all the guilt and responsibility, is that it? How can you be so selfish? We have at least a decade of marriage; does that mean nothing to you? Do you really hold me in such low regard?”

”When did I ever make you take the blame? Can you stop being so forceful with your words? Does every word you say need to be responsible? Did I make you take the blame? Are you not aware of your actions? Now, how can you push all responsibilities onto me? One should have the courage to accept one’s actions. Do you still consider yourself a decent person? I don’t know what I initially saw in you; I must have been blind.”

”Yes, indeed, you were blind. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been with you back then. You must have been blind to be with me. And I was blind to join you, such a slippery person who gives up halfway, never knowing what’s important or not. You can’t distinguish urgency, and now you have the nerve to keep arguing with me here? You tell me our son is missing, yet you argue with me instead of looking for him. Are you using this as an excuse to argue with me? There’s no need for that. If our son is indeed missing, you should go look for him immediately. Don’t waste your time here; otherwise, he also won’t have time to find you, resulting in nothing gained in the end.”

”Forget it. A real man doesn’t argue with a woman. I really don’t know what to say to someone like you. I cherished you so much, but you turned out to be an ungrateful wretch. I never thought you’d do such ruthless things, almost bringing an end to my family line.”

”Sorry, Mr. Zhang. I have nothing more to say to you. From today onwards, we are strangers, each going our own way. Don’t come talking to us anymore; there’s no need. I once genuinely regarded you as the man I loved the most, but you hit me hard. You showed me you’re unreliable, yet I thank you for harshly pushing me away from your side. It led me to the stable and carefree life I have now. I no longer have to worry about how to interact with you, as every day spent with you left me wondering. But because of you abandoning me, I learned a lot, became stronger than before, and learned that Xia Jing doesn’t need Zhang Zhentian to survive...”

As soon as Xia Jing finished speaking, she hung up the phone.

Everyone has their unspoken secrets. Some things said will never be understood by others.
