My Alleged Husband

Chapter 1955: Chapter 1749: Dawn

In the midst of countless struggles, who doesn’t hope to see the dawn of victory, who doesn’t wish to live on just so ordinarily there, who would crave to endure all the pain time and again.

When Old Master Zhang heard Li Haixiao say these words, he really wanted to loudly tell him that, actually, his kidney was given by a kind person, which was his precious daughter donated to him! But Old Master Zhang also knew clearly, he couldn’t do that, if he did then, all these years of keeping the secret would be wasted, he couldn’t let such a thing happen, and even more, he couldn’t let it be exposed due to his momentary impulsiveness. Yet he also felt, this matter has reached this point, if he doesn’t speak the truth now, living a lifetime, this truth would truly sink into the ocean forever, with no one ever understanding, nor anyone ever speaking out about it. He couldn’t let his former comrade-in-business lose because of being unclear and unconscious, he wanted to tell him the truth of the matter, but if he tells Li Haixiao the truth of this matter, then what would the ending become?

”Old man, why are you silent? Could it be that you know the truth about this matter, if you know, please tell me, okay? He is my savior, whose family lives where? I should also do my little bit, I am old now, I really want to know, who was the one that saved me back then? If I can’t know who he is before I die in this lifetime, then I will die regretfully, he saved my life, allowing me to see my grandson come into the world with my own eyes, allowing me to watch my grandson grow happily into adulthood, becoming so excellent, allowing me to see my descendants, generation after generation, living happily, it is him that has given me this feeling now, I am really very grateful to him, old man, although we fought in the business for so many years, you still wouldn’t want me to leave this world with regrets, right? You coming to see me today proves that there is still some sentiment in your heart for me as a comrade-in-arms, even though at first we were not on the same side but opposed each other, now we have become friends, haven’t we...”

Old Master Zhang felt very touched hearing these words, but he still couldn’t say them out loud, if he said them, he didn’t know what kind of consequences it would lead to, if Li Haixiao heard the truth he spoke out and in a fit of anger left this world, then wouldn’t he be alive and have caused a death himself? He dared not guarantee such matters, but could not bear to see his battle comrade pleading with such eyes, his heart was deeply torn and painful, on one side was his friend, on the other the risk of a human life, which should he choose? If he chooses to tell this truth, and the friend leaves the world because of this, would the remaining people forgive him? Even if he said it in a moment of excitement.

”Old man, don’t hesitate anymore, just tell me quickly, you hesitating like this makes me anxious inside, I just want to know who saved me, is it so difficult? Such a small wish, you are unwilling to fulfill for me? Do you have to see me leave here regretfully one by one to be satisfied? If I die with no peace in heart, will you be happy to finish your remaining days? I believe not, because you are a very good person, I know every decision you make is very irreversible, but can you help me just this once? Just think of me begging you!”

This was the first time Li Haixiao spoke out to Old Master Zhang seeking help, in the past he absolutely wouldn’t bow his head to anyone, but today knowing who his savior was, he actually bowed his head asking help himself, should he really reveal the truth of this matter, must he see him leave here regretfully for his own heart to be satisfied?

”If I tell you the truth of this matter, you must promise me to stay calm, if hearing this truth causes you in some stage or in anger to leave this world, then all remaining people will certainly not forgive me, I bear the risk of your life in telling you this truth, if after I tell you, you leave the world behind, then I will not even spare you in hell, I will chase after and certainly interrogate you thoroughly.”

”Okay, okay, as long as you tell me who rescued me, I promise I will adhere to what you say, calmly listen without agitation, alright? Just tell me who this person is, I will be very grateful, I just want to know who saved my life back then, don’t worry so much, I won’t leave the world in anger upon hearing this news!”

”Alright then, actually the person is your own biological daughter, she knew you got uremia and promptly went to the hospital to do the matching, but waited long for it, she couldn’t bear seeing you wasting away due to uremia, eventually dying, your daughter would rather give up her very healthy heart, and give it to you, asking you to become so for a dad, because in her heart, she feels you as her dad are most important, wouldn’t allow any harm upon you, do you understand what I mean by this?”

Li Haixiao nodded, and said: ”I understand now, the one who saved me wasn’t an anonymous person, but my own biological daughter, she gave up her healthy heart to save me, no wonder I haven’t seen her for months, this is the reason, no wonder I found a match so quickly, she’s my biological daughter, so naturally it was quick, the heavens made my daughter’s kidney save me, but I almost ruined my daughter’s lifelong happiness, how should I face my daughter now? As a dad I didn’t know she did this, now the truth is revealed, how should I face my daughter? Tell her I know the truth now?”

”I told you this truth just hoping you wouldn’t leave this world with regrets, even if there were many unpleasant things between us in the past, you are still my friend after all, and we still have family ties, I wish you could consider well, not for any particular reason, you should live a few more years, if you really leave, what then of your daughter’s kidney given to you?”

Victory might just be that moment, or could be very far from oneself.
